I purchased the software IMonitorPC to monitor the activity of teenage children while on the PC. A great deal of time was spent installing the product as the Norton AntiSpy program would keep uninstalling the product. I went to the Symantec website and they classed this as a spy product as follows:
Updated: December 17 12:38: 46 PM
Type: Spyware
Version: 12.0
Publisher: Clarisoft
Risk Impact: Medium
Systems Affected: Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows Vista, Windows NT, Windows Server Windows 2000
BehaviorSpyware. IMonitorPCPro is a spyware program that records keystrokes and conversations from instant messaging clients. It also captures screen shots which are sent to a remote user.
The President of the company answered my querie to the company as to my dilema with a weak answer and did not offer to refund my money.
His answer was:
"We wrote Symantec few times, and are trying to resolve the problem. When I get some new information from them, I will convey it to you. Once we get this resolved you will be able to view the hardware fingerprint and we can generate the activation code. I am sorry about this inconvenience, but I do not see another solution right now (unless you go with another Antivirus software; we use Panda and have no problems with it).
Please let me know if you have other questions, and will try to help as best as we can.
