I had a software company which was using Verisign's PayFlow Pro service. The software company went defunct, and we didn't use a single transaction with their PayFlow product for over a year. I finally called them up and told them it hasn't been used for a year. I didn't expect a refund, but I did expect them to stop the monthly billing of $79.95 immediately. They cancelled the account, and told me it might not take effect for another month! We were only a couple days into the new billing cycle, I had just recieved the bill. So I asked them to cancel the account completely, and not bill it again next month.
Of course, they didn't completley cancel it, any low and behold there's another bill from them this month for $79.95. Yeah it's only $79.95 but I'm tired of getting stabbed by companies like this. It's a little parting shot to boost their revenues and it's bull that we've all been paying for from these guys, banks, cell phone companies etc.
If you can find someone else to use other than Verisign for your processing, I highly recommend it.
