Misdiagnosis ripoff false test results caused death

I want you all to be aware of what has been happening with Animal Emergency and Referal Associates. I urge everyone to think twice before going there, and if any of your pups were recently diagnosed with Parvo from AERA, to dispute the bill!

In January, I took in a litter of 5 pups... The day after transport they got sick one by one... They were all rushed to AERS within the week. According to AERA they all tested positive for Parvo. They were all hospitalized for at least 3 days each. This was my first experience, therefore I didnt know better... After paying 10,000 I find out that coccidia causes the same symptoms. I started researching Parvo tests and found that they are done in 5 minutes... Not the 15 that AERA claims. See they are the same kind of test as a pregnancy test, and if you leave it long enough it tests positive.

End of January I take in another litter. Two start getting the same symptoms, one gets better the other isnt. So I bring her in and tell them she needs to be dewormed. They tell me no, she has Parvo. I said no she doesnt. After 24 hours I go back and tell them I am signing her out if they dont deworm her professionally. They do it, and 12 hours later she is well enough to come home.

March... I have 6 pups... 3 get adopted to 3 different families, therefore go to 3 different vets. They all get sick and COCCIDIA is confirmed and treated on all 3.2 pups here get sick I bring them to AERA and they say Parvo! I explaine about the littermates, they dont want to hear a word I say. After 24 hours I pull them out (for some reason I get puppies that get sick on weekends and in the middle of the night or they wouldnt have even went to AERA) I start them on Albon... They are fine!

April I take a puppy that is sick, I was told she had hook worms and made her a little anemic. Okay after 24 hours she is dehydrating terrible, it is Easter. I take her to AERC as I didnt think we would make it to Oradell, the puppy is moaning. I tell them her history, they insist on a Parvo test. I made them do it in the room and i timed how long they waited. The first 7 minutes it was negative... Then it turned positive. The doctor waited 12 minutes before saying the test was done. Then, she said she had to check with another doctor to see what 2 dots meant! Of course she comes back and says it means Parvo. I said whatever, I will be taking her home in the morning when I can get her to her regular vet. Next day, I pick her up. She looks 10x's worse than she did when I left. Her eyes are all goopy, she has poo all over her. They didnt even clean her up! I rush her to regular vet and ask him to re-do Parvo test to prove once and for all that AERS is full of it. Test comes back NEGATIVE! At this point the puppy is extremely ill. She dies that night at the vet's office. I call AERA and tell them SHE DIDNT HAVE PARVO and died as a result of them treating for something she didnt have! They will not refund any of the 96.00 for there Parvo tests! 9 dogs admitted for Parvo that NEVER HAD PARVO! They hit you with 182.00 internal Medicine fee on top of everything else, because they must be quarantined. Well, they let me visit 2 of the puppies... Never had to put on a gown, nor did the tech, I had to remind her about spraying our shoes. Some disease control... Obviously because they were FULLY AWARE that the pups DID NOT have PArvo! They will not return my calls. I told them that I was going to contact all local rescues. All I asked for was to be refunded all 9 of the Parvo tests, the Internal Medicine fee of 182.00 for all the pups and the Emergency Exam fee of 139 for all of the pups. I have spent 16,000 since JANUARY at AERS. They didnt even have the decency, the first time I called (they spoke to me because they didnt know why I was calling) to say they were sorry for my loss!!! I have left messsages with the owner. No response. I guess they dont care because they have my money and they will just take advantage of someone else. I am going to put in my adoption contract that they are not to ever bring one of my dogs to AERA. Please think twice before giving these liars your money!!!
