I ordered an Evolve Universal Remote Control, made by Evolve Solutions, from ExoticBargain.com on eBay. Price was $55 including shipping. On Jan. 21, when the remote stopped working, I contacted ExoticBargain, who referred me to Evolve, saying I would be covered by the 90-day manufacturer's warranty issued by Evolve. The warranty was stated in the user's manual I received with the remote.
I have traded several e-mails with John Roberts at Evolve. He refuses to give a replacement or refund, saying Evolve's warranty applies only to distributors, not to retail customers. The warranty in the user's manual has no such limitation. When I told him I intended to file a complaint with the Calif. Dept. Of Consumer Affairs, he said "Go ahead."
