I received a letter dated 4/23/04 yesterday from JBC Legal Group. They allege that I have a dishonored check from the State of Ohio (I live in KY) that was written to Value City on 11/28/94. Then they go on to say that along with the check amount of $46.56, they expect a $30.00 service charge. However, they also state that according to Kentucky law I only owe them the total amount of the check and a $25.00 service charge. I just mailed them a letter to provide me with all pertinent facts of this case, along with their license numbers to work in the state of Kentucky.
There crazy if they think I'm going to pay for a check that I supposedly wrote ten years ago. I have no way of tracking this check now, even the federal government doesn't keep records for that length of time.
