As a recent college graduate, like most people in this world, I have had extreem hardship with trying to find a job. At the last minute, I was able to find a job; however, everybody in my household is currently laid off. I am the head of household. I am barely getting by to pay for the basics. I was told about the forbearance program. I called Sallie Mae to apply. They told me I would have to pay $50 per loan for a forbearance for up to 6 months at a time.
If I don't have the money to pay the bill, what makes you think I have the money to pay this fee - That you have to pay the same day as you call or else the loan goes on your credit as being defaulted.
Please keep in mind, I have NEVER signed anything that says that I will have to pay this fee. Nor would the company send anything to me in writing indicating this fee. Furthermore, it is not on their website that this is the process for forbearance.
