Where do I begin with this fraud?
A friend of mine convinced me about a life experience degree from Belford University. What sold me was the price - less than $500. Wow! How could I pass that opportunity, right?
Well, the first clue something was amiss was in all of the business offerings, there was one religious degree. Hmmmm! Well I was still anxious to get something besides an associates degree, so I took a stab at it.
I have been involved in the church since I was four years old, I am 40ish now, and have been involved in many things. My resume is quite extensive. I was curious about what they would say about my life expereince.
An email came back saying that they would grant me a bachelor of science in divinity degree for $400 and some odd dollars. I had 30 days to pay it. That was flag #2. I called the 800# and got a gentleman with a heavy foreign accent - Flag #3! He was very pushy and rude. I asked for the person who sent me the email - amazingly he was "on a break". Flag #4! For some reason he was on a break for the next three times I called. How convenient. Flags #5,6, 7!!!
Now the good part. I paid the necessary monies, got the documents - they were wonderfuly done, I was impressed. But the transcripts were totally wrong - I never took any of the 6 semesters of classed listed. The entire thing was a lie; the GPA, the alumni status, etc. Now how am I supposed to brag about a degree that is a fake? It is loaded with lies about the courses.
As of now I have written for a full refund, and included the BBB, Consumer Protection, and the Feds. Anyone who is thinking about Belford university - DON'T! Just got to school and take the classes.
