Allied Interstate keeps calling us trying to find someone else with same last name, who they ADMIT they KNOW does not even live in the same state! I have made Numerous calls to tell them the person they are looking for does not live here, and have offered to send them a copy of the phone book listing or whatever they need showing that. Some reps have been rude, but some have been polite. They all claim our number will be taken out of their system but they keep calling, sometimes in as little as 15 minutes from telling me our number has been removed!
I have recently begun to record their messages. Currently I have 13. Many of them claim they have sent a letter, which of course we have never received, since we are not the people in question!
Today they called again. I called back and asked for their address so I could demand in writing that they quit calling or be sued. The first person hung up on me. The second person (Harmony) told me I can't sue them for calling a wrong number and subsequently hung up. The third person hung up on me, and the fourth person I talked to, a supervisor, I believe, was Horrible! He practically admitted he knew we are not the people they are trying to find - He told me they live in Hurricane, WV (we are in PA) but then argued that this could be their phone number since West Virginia and Pennsylvania border each other! Huh? (Also - Should he be telling me where people live?)
When I told him I was going to contact my State's Attorney General, he said, You go right ahead and do that, they won't do anything! Then he reiterated that they cannot get in trouble for simply calling the wrong number.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to make this stop, please let me know. This is obviously an unethical company, as one can see from reading the reports against them. I am afraid they will somehow try to ruin our credit - after all, they do not care that we are NOT the people they are looking for. We are guilty for living in a state that BORDERS the state where those people live!
