We made the mistake of using Awesome Tubs aka Albert McNeil to help us refinish some bathtubs in the area. Our company is called Flawless Finish Resurfacing. Mr. McNeil purposly cut corners in refinishing these bathtubs for us. He was paid a very reasonable percentage to prepare the bathtubs to be refinished. He did things that were not noticeable UNTIL the customers tried to use their tub or shower. He would simply not follow proper procedure in refinishing these bathtubs for us. Once we began receiving a multitude of callbacks, we fired him. However, because this individual with a criminal felony record refused to come back and redo the work that he was paid hundreds of dollars to do correctly. Now that we are innundated with unhappy customers, (8, some of whom have complained on this website) Mr. McNeil claims he is going to take all of our business and eventually shut us down. We are a reputable company who specializes in high end work. We do not work for friends and slumlords, we are a real business that this criminal has definately had an impact on. You see, when we refinish a bathtub at $150, pay someone like Albert McNeil, Awesome Tubs $60 and material costs over $100 per gallon, we simply do not have the resources to go back all over town and fix all this work. But these are customers who are under warranty, we are taking care of the issues he has left us with slowly but surely.in the meantime Albert McNeil aka Awesome Tubs has stolen pictures of our work and is using them on his advertisements. He boasts that he is a sixteen year pro, I guess he started when he was 16 years old because I know he was incarcerated for many years for a violent crime as well as drug charges. All of this information can be located in his background report available online.in any event, he claims he has been spraying for this time period, he in fact never refinished anything until just a couple of months ago
At that he has done maybe 10 tubs at the most. We maintain an A rating with the BBB and we have been resurfacing bathtubs for the past 20 years. I am glad that he has invited an audience to come take a look at ripped off.com because he is the ultimate reason we are left picking up the pices of this mess. This has hurt our business in many ways, we thought we had a good contractor but instead we were CONNED, be careful who you let in your home!
