The Braemar group does major repairs without filing for a city permit. They also do not have the building tested for hazardous materials. And of course their workers are non-union.
This way they can claim "no knowledge" of hazardous materials - even though they are sandblasting a building from the 40s that may well have lead or asbestos in its paint and ceiling materials.
The "gestation" period for cancers caused by asbestos can be as long as 20 years, or can be a shorter period. The damage from lead poisoning is quicker, but shows more easily in children. It can effect those in the buildings and passersby.
This information needs to be kept in the public knowledge in case any resident or neighbor gets lung cancer or asthma. And, in case this company continues to save itself money and effort by risking the health of the people working and living in or near their buildings.
