Brisbane property manager samuel hadgelias who forced tennants to sign blank bond refund forms at the start of a lease and later lodging false bond refund claims has been fined $7000 in the brisbane magistrates court. Residential tenancies authority genral manager fergus smith said the rta prosecuted the son of a prominent real estate identity for five offences related to the inclusion of special terms in the tenancy which contravened tenancy laws desinged to protect vunrable tenants. Counsel for the rta david thomae said the court should send a clear message to the property manager and others who contemplated breaking tenancy laws.
