Cash Central payment, cancellation and complaint routes: what the company's pages say (checked October 12, 2026)

Cash Central's own pages list these routes.

  • Customer service: 1-800-460-4305 or [email protected]. The Contact Us page gives Monday to Friday 8am-8pm (CT), Saturday 9am-12pm (CT), Sunday closed.
  • If you cannot pay on the due date: the FAQ lists a courtesy move (a later due date), an Extended Payment Plan or Variable Payment Plan (described as "a no-cost repayment plan" that "typically do not exceed four payments" and is "only available for payday loans"), or a refinance. It says "Not all options are available in all states" and that you must contact the company "prior to 7:45 PM EST at least one banking business day before your loan is due".
  • Payment methods (FAQ): ACH using routing and account number, or a Visa or Mastercard debit or prepaid card, through your account or by calling 1-800-460-4305; Western Union using Cash Central as the biller; MoneyGram using Cash Central as the biller or receive code 4813; or a money order or cashier's check mailed to Cash Central / Community Choice Financial, PO Box 535, Dublin, OH 43017. The FAQ says "We do not accept personal or business checks" and that payments, including refinances, must be submitted by 7:45 PM EST the business banking day before the loan is due.
  • Stopping automatic debits: the CFPB says you can stop electronic debits by revoking the payment authorization with the company and telling your bank (or by giving your bank a stop payment order), and that revoking an automatic payment "does not cancel" the contract: "you still owe the balance on that loan."
  • Cancelling a new loan: the FAQ says "You may rescind the Agreement before the close of the business day following the date on which you receive the loan at no cost" and that the time allowed "may vary by state law".
  • Cost of a refinance: the FAQ says refinancing means you pay the original loan's finance charge and "pay more over the life of the loan" than if the original loan had been paid on its due date; cost detail is in the Truth in Lending boxes of your loan contract.
  • Stopping marketing messages: the FAQ gives an email opt-out page, an unsubscribe link, and account preference settings, and says to allow up to 72 hours; transactional loan emails are excluded. The Terms of Use say you can stop text messages by replying "STOP".
  • Complaints: the "Questions or Complaints" page says: "If a problem can not be resolved by speaking with us and the nature of the complaint is something other than a high rate of interest or lack of funds to repay the loan, you may call your state regulatory agency", and lists regulators for 22 states with phone numbers and web links. That condition is the company's wording; the regulators and the CFPB take complaints on their own terms. The CFPB takes complaints about financial products at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or (855) 411-2372.

Keep your loan contract, payment confirmations and the dates and names of any calls; written requests to [email protected] leave a record. This page does not give legal advice.

State regulator actions involving Cash Central entities

California, 2015. The California Department of Business Oversight (now DFPI) issued "Citations and Desist and Refrain Order" dated April 1, 2015 to Cash Central of California, LLC, dba Cash Central, a deferred-deposit originator. After a 2014 examination it cited (A) failure to provide fingerprints of 10-percent owners, (B) use of unlicensed lead generators, and (C) collecting or attempting to collect excess charges ($4,784.65 collected from 37 customers and $8,585.44 charged), with a $2,500 penalty per citation ($7,500 in total). On November 16, 2015 it issued a "First Amended Citation and Desist and Refrain Order" that replaced those three citations with one: Cash Central "directly or indirectly" collected $3,745.62 in excess charges from 38 customers and charged $181.02 from two customers between October 8, 2012 and May 2, 2014 through third-party accounts-receivable firms, with a $2,500 penalty and an order to desist and refrain from violating Financial Code sections 23036(f) and 23037(f).

California, 2019. A Desist and Refrain Order dated January 29, 2019 stated that, under the California Financing Law, Cash Central of California, LLC (a licensed finance lender) paid about $3,376,000 to 19 lead providers between 2013 and 2016 and that none was licensed as a finance broker. It ordered the company to desist and refrain from further violating Cal. Code Regs., tit. 10, section 1451(c). The order states no monetary penalty.

South Carolina, 2016 to 2026. On May 13, 2026 the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs said it had "finalized a settlement" with Cash Central of South Carolina, LLC, ending litigation it filed in 2016 over the company's operations in the state from 2013 through 2015. SCDCA alleged interest rates above what the law permitted without a filed rate chart (loans of $750 to $5,000 with APRs between 146% and 246%). The release says: "While the Company does not admit any liability or wrongdoing, to avoid further expense and the uncertainty of litigation, under the terms of the settlement, the Company agrees to provide refunds to affected consumers." It says the company "disputed SCDCA's position" and that SCDCA "will reach out" to identified consumers over the following year.

These are regulators' statements about individual state entities. They do not describe Cash Central's operations in other states, and the California orders do not record the company's response.

Who operates Cash Central

Cash Central is an online lender of payday and installment loans. Its Terms of Use say the cashcentral.com pages are "operated by Direct Financial Solutions, LLC" and refer throughout to "Cash Central/CCF" and to Community Choice Financial (CCF). Community Choice Financial's own home page lists Cash Central among its "Family of Brands" and says its brands serve customers "across 30 states" (company statement). Speedy Cash is listed on the same page as another brand in that family, and the BBB file for Community Choice Financial, Inc. lists both Speedy Cash and Cash Central among its alternate business names; they are sibling brands, not the same brand. The Terms of Use also say "Cash Central" and "CashCentral.com" are trademarks of Direct Financial Solutions, LLC; the page does not say that this is Cash Central's legal name.

The lending entity varies by state, according to the state notices on the site. California payday loans "are provided by CCFI Funding, LLC"; Oregon payday loans by California Check Cashing Stores, LLC; Mississippi loans by CCF of Mississippi, LLC. For Texas the site says "Cash Central is registered as a Credit Service Organization and licensed as a Credit Access Business to assist customers in obtaining a loan through an unaffiliated third-party lender." The FAQ says: "Cash Central is not a referral site. We are the lender."

Addresses. The Contact Us page and the site footer give 2312 E Trinity Mills Rd, Ste 100, Carrollton, TX 75006 as corporate headquarters; the FAQ still says the company is "headquartered in 5165 Emerald Parkway, Suite 100, Dublin, Ohio 43017", and payments by mail go to PO Box 535, Dublin, OH 43017. California's 2015 orders listed a North Logan, Utah address and its 2019 order a Dublin, Ohio address.

Ownership change. On August 11, 2026 Katapult Holdings, Inc. announced it had completed an all-stock combination with The Aaron's Company, Inc. and CCF Holdings LLC ("CCFI"). The release says Aaron's and CCFI "are wholly owned indirect subsidiaries of Katapult Holdings" and that the combined company "will continue to operate through its established Aaron's, CCFI, and Katapult brands". It does not mention Cash Central by name; Cash Central's link to CCFI rests on the CCFI and Cash Central pages above.

Complaint record (counts as displayed on October 12, 2026)

Counts below come from different sources and files and are not added together. The Community Choice Financial BBB file and the CFPB figures cover the whole Community Choice Financial family rather than Cash Central alone.

  • BBB: the file "Community Choice Financial, Inc." in Dublin, Ohio, lists "Cash Central/Insight Capital" among its alternate business names. It was displaying a rating of A+, BBB Accredited, 402 total complaints in the last 3 years, 86 filed in the last 12 months, and 1.55/5 stars from an average of 102 customer reviews. BBB notes that it may publish only 1 out of every 4 complaints handled.
  • BBB, separate Cash Central file: BBB also shows a file named "Cash Central" in Austin, Texas (phone (800) 460-4305) that is not accredited, with rating F, the stated reason "Failure to respond to 5 complaint(s) filed against business", 5 total complaints in the last 3 years (1 in the last 12 months, all five marked Unanswered) and 1 customer review (5/5). The address BBB lists differs from the Contact Us page; this file is shown separately and its figures are not combined with the Community Choice Financial file.
  • CFPB: the database lists no company named Cash Central; under "COMMUNITY CHOICE FINANCIAL, INC." it showed 1,203 complaints received between August 8, 2013 and January 22, 2022 and none since October 12, 2025. The most frequent products were debt collection (559), payday loan (248) and payday loan, title loan, or personal loan (222); 1,150 were closed with explanation and 10 with monetary relief.
  • Trustpilot: 3 reviews, 2.8 average, a claimed profile with no recent history of asking for reviews.
  • This site: 5 archived complaints dated 2006 to 2012 name Cash Central in the offender field. Four of them (2012) describe collection calls to a workplace, an account the writers say was opened fraudulently, a $500 deposit followed by a $600 withdrawal, and a $200 deposit followed by a $362 withdrawal and monthly fees; one (2006) describes a referral-site application followed by a membership charge from another company. They are reader allegations and have not been verified. Other archive posts mention cashcentral.com but name different businesses as the offender and are not counted here.

Is Cash Central Legitimate?

Cash Central describes itself as "a secure, reliable, state-licensed/registered lender" and publishes a State Licenses page where a visitor selects a state to see its licence or registration, plus state notices naming the lending entity in California, Oregon, Mississippi and Texas. Community Choice Financial lists Cash Central among its brands, and the combined Katapult Holdings group announced on August 11, 2026 that it owns CCFI. Regulators in California and South Carolina have taken the actions described above against Cash Central entities, and California's DFPI lists them on its public enforcement page.

Before applying, compare the offer with the loan disclosure, check your state regulator's lookup for the lending entity named in your contract, and note that loans of this type carry high costs; the CFPB's payday-loan pages explain the terms to look for.

PUBLIC RECORD

Court & Public Records

CaseAuthorityDatesTypeOutcomeSource
South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs v. Cash Central of South Carolina, LLCSouth Carolina (SCDCA enforcement litigation; the press release does not name the court)—SettledSettled

SCDCA sued in 2016 alleging the company charged interest above what South Carolina law allowed without a filed rate chart on loans of $750 to $5,000 with APRs between 146% and 246% made from 2013 through 2015. On May 13, 2026 SCDCA announced it had finalized a settlement ending the litigation; the release says the company "does not admit any liability or wrongdoing" and "agrees to provide refunds to affected consumers", and that SCDCA will contact consumers it identified over the following year. The release also says the company disputed SCDCA's position.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I contact Cash Central?

Cash Central's Contact Us page lists 1-800-460-4305 and [email protected], Monday to Friday 8am-8pm (CT), Saturday 9am-12pm (CT), Sunday closed, plus a message form. The page says Cash Central "will never request that you send sensitive personal information by way of unsecured or unencrypted forms of communication", so avoid emailing ID or Social Security numbers.

What options does Cash Central list if I cannot pay on the due date?

The FAQ lists courtesy moves, an Extended Payment Plan or Variable Payment Plan ("typically" up to four payments and "only available for payday loans"), and refinances, and says "Not all options are available in all states". Requests must reach the company before 7:45 PM EST at least one banking business day before the due date. A refinance means paying the original finance charge again, so the loan costs more overall than paying on the original due date, per the FAQ.

Can I cancel a Cash Central loan after I receive the money?

Cash Central's FAQ says you "may rescind the Agreement before the close of the business day following the date on which you receive the loan at no cost", that the time "may vary by state law", and that you should contact customer service at 1-800-460-4305 for details for your state. Read your signed loan contract for the exact terms.

Who owns Cash Central?

Cash Central's Terms of Use say its website pages are operated by Direct Financial Solutions, LLC and refer to "Cash Central/CCF"; Community Choice Financial's home page lists Cash Central among its brands. On August 11, 2026 Katapult Holdings, Inc. announced it had completed a combination with The Aaron's Company, Inc. and CCF Holdings LLC, making CCFI a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Katapult Holdings.

What regulator actions are on record against Cash Central entities?

California's DFPI lists three documents for Cash Central of California, LLC: a citation and desist and refrain order of April 1, 2015, an amended one of November 16, 2015, and a desist and refrain order of January 29, 2019. On May 13, 2026 the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs announced a settlement with Cash Central of South Carolina, LLC, in which the company did not admit liability and agreed to provide refunds to affected consumers.

Where can I file a complaint about Cash Central?

Cash Central's State Regulatory Contact Information page says: "If a problem can not be resolved by speaking with us and the nature of the complaint is something other than a high rate of interest or lack of funds to repay the loan, you may call your state regulatory agency", and lists regulators for 22 states with phone numbers. That condition is the company's wording. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or by phone at (855) 411-2372.

Is Cash Central a lender or a referral site?

Cash Central's FAQ says "Cash Central is not a referral site. We are the lender", and that it may have received a name from a referral site the applicant used. It also says that in Texas it acts as a Credit Service Organization or Credit Access Business and the funds come from an independent lender, and that applicants who do not meet its criteria in other states may, with consent, be referred to another lender.

How do I stop Cash Central marketing emails, calls and texts?

The FAQ describes an email opt-out page, an unsubscribe link in every email and communication preferences in your account, and an option to untick calls under "Special Offers and Promotions"; it asks for up to 72 hours. Transactional loan emails are excluded. Text messages stop when you reply "STOP", per the Terms of Use.

How do I pay Cash Central, and how are automatic debits stopped?

Cash Central's FAQ lists ACH or a Visa or Mastercard debit or prepaid card (through the account or by phone at 1-800-460-4305), Western Union, MoneyGram (receive code 4813), and a money order or cashier's check mailed to PO Box 535, Dublin, OH 43017; it says personal or business checks are not accepted. On stopping debits, the CFPB says a borrower can revoke the payment authorization with the lender and tell the bank, and that revoking does not cancel the loan: the balance is still owed.
