Early morning October 24 at 7:30 sharp, I took my Chrysler Convertible Sebring into Just Brakes for a 99.00 Brake Job that was quoted to me on Wednesday, October 22. About 3 mechanics took my vehicle upon the ramp taking all 4 tires off inspecting it. A short, fat, white guy by the name of Mike took me into the office and began speaking to me about my brakes - telling me that he will have me at work before 8am. He began telling me that I will probably be out of some money for the brakes because my brakes were in severe damage. I told him that I came for the 99.00 special and that if he was taking me to work - to come on because it was then 15 til 8:00.
One of the mechanics walks in and began telling me that everything needed to be replaced concerning my brake job and quoted me between $600 - $800.00. I asked him to place my tires back on my car because I wasn't about to pay that much money for a brake job. He began yelling at me and telling me that I need this and that done. Just being ABUSIVE as hell. It was then 8:00. I called my job and told them that I would be late for work.
After my phone call, I again asked then to place my tires back on my car. I was frustrated now. PISSED! This tall, skinny black man comes in trying to persuade me to go ahead and do it - they started negotiating by asking for $400.00, then $200.00. Now we know it's a SCAM! I told him, "NO, put my tires back on my car, " like 50 times. I told him that I didn't want any of their services and that I needed my tires on immediately. This black man is still trying to persuade me to get this job done, he's yelling at me and we're arguing. It's 8:30am and let me remind you - my tires are still not on my car. The guy was steady talking loud, telling me what I needed to do, and how I was going to pay this $600 to $800.00. He told me that if I didn't get it done that I would maybe make it a block down Collins and run into someone. He tried to scare me!
I looked at him with tears in my eyes; I cursed him out and told him that I needed my tires on my car right now, that he was harassing me, that if my tires wasn't on my car in 10 minutes - I would call the police and I pulled out my cell phone and walked outside. He came behind me and told the mechanics to put my tires on my car now. They put them on and gave me my keys. I drove off. I could not believe them. They tried me! Stupid Idiots!
On a more brighter note; Saturday, October 25th, my son's spanish teacher asked me to let her husband do it for me, that he had been with Ford Motor Company for over 20 years. I went to him, he told me that people always told him about "JUST BRAKES" and their "SCAM". He told me that nothing was wrong with my brakes, just the pads needed to be replaced. And he replaced them! In addition, he changed my spark plugs and wires, he gave me a tune-up and washed my car! Thanks Steven! You're awesome!
Too all, please do not go to JUST BRAKES! I have warned my family and friends. Just Brakes will try ya!
