I purchased one of this company's dr powerwagons in 2002. This powerwagon had a 2 wheeled device wherupon the user cpuld ride this device, much as a atv. I used it mostly to carry my trash cans down to the bottom of my block-long drivewat to later be empyied by refuse collection companies. On april 21, i was carrying down 2 cans, driving slowly in 1st gear (it has 4 forward & 1 reverse gear). As i neared the bottom of my steerp driveway, it suddenly jumped out of 1st gear into neuyral & greatly increased in speed. I then attempted to emply the hand brakes. They failed; the machine increased and, while overturning, threw me onto my asphalt driveway and crashed onto my mailbos at street level. I was taken to hospital, where i was diagnosed with 3 broken ribs and a broken hand. It was subsequently determed that i also had a torn rotator cuff. I had surgery for that injury om nov. 17 and am recovering from that surgery today. My complaint: all dr powerwagons with the capability to carry a driver should be recalled immediately, thus preventing subsequent injury.
