Lithia Subaru
Price gouging in the Great Basin - don't break down in Reno

Called Lithia Subaru in Reno for a quote on 30k service for my 2006 Outback 2.5i. Quote was $1200 - $1300 with van service. Gobsmacked by the fee, I called Maita in Sacramento/Auburn: $550 for same service. Checked in with Carter Subaru in Seattle (where I purchased the car): $710 w/loaner car. Then called Albany Subaru in Berkeley, and was quoted $559 plus complimentary Enterprise car rental.

I called Lithia back, reported my findings, and asked them to justify their fee. Here's what they said: we FLUSH your fluids, rather than refill them. Uh... So do the other shops.

So what gives? Egregious price gouging, no?

I've got to be in Berkeley on business next week, so the car's going to Albany Subaru.
