I was stranded on the highway between Red Rock and Picacho a few years back due to alternator failure. Got towed by Eddies to Peak Garage—they're one in the same—and had the alternator replaced.
Everything's just dandy until I check to find that they charged me double the retail price for an alternator they got from Autozone. This is in addition to charging for the parts run, etc. I couldn't coax a refund out of them and didn't have the moxie at the time to take it up through my credit card company.
Honest mechanics charge retail or less for parts and cover everything else through labor and fees. These guys are old-fashioned scum. I should have gotten towed back to Tucson instead and fixed it myself, or at least towed to a reputable city mechanic with honest billing policy.
Highway Patrol will call Eddie's if you're out on the highway between Marana and Casa Grande. Request someone else, and let Eddies or anyone else take you to the con men at Peak Garage.
