Do not deal with this company!!!
We had gone to Coggin Nissan on Atlantic, Jacksonville, FL to trade my car (Passat) in for a newer vehicle. My kids fell in love with an SUV so we began the process of purchasing it. My friend had to sign for the car and after it was all said and done we drove off with a 2004 Envoy.
3 days later my friend was contacted to resign papers. She had asked why/what for and was given the run around. She works 70-80 hours and week and on the weekends so she didn't have time to drive 45 mins one way just to sign paperwork. She had explained this to the caller and was advised it would only take 2 seconds! How rude!
That Saturday, she went down to sign and was advised that the dealership decided to renagotiate the contract with a different bank. The payments were $175 more than what we agreed on. We decided not to purchase the Envoy and was advised to bring it back that Monday.
When I went to swap cars I sat there with my family for 4 hours waiting for my Passat. After 1 1/2 hours a salesman asked me if I had problems with the Passat before trading it in. Cogin does a check on the cars to appraise it's value... Wouldn't they have been aware if any issues were present???
I advised them no. I drive the Passat daily and would have known. After another 2 1/2 hours they advised me to take the Envoy home so they could fix my Passat. They would deliver the car to me as a courtesy.
That Wednesday, I recieved a call that my car was ready. I couldn't make it down to the dealership becuase I have a family, a job and they had promised to deliver my car to me. They said they would call me back and didn't.
1 week later my friend gets a call at work advising her the car is ready to be swapped and to meet the delivery man at a gas station in Kingsland (our home town). 15 mins later, she gets another call stating the man is waiting to swap and is already at the gas station. She received another 8 phone calls asking for the car. DW (salesman) was not nice on the phone only when he was trying to make a sale! He stated he would push the contract through if they didn't get the car back. That is illegal!!!
The Passat was brought back without a grill, the railing of the car was bent and wires hanging from the bottom of the car... It looked like a strip job. I'm returning the Envoy in the same condition I recieved it and I expect to receive the Passat in the same condition. After 15 mins of argueing with DW they agreed to fix it. I asked for the manager and was told there isn't one available. I asked for the Corporate office number and was advised I have a better luck at finding it because he doesn't know it.
I am currently seeking legal action and will be going to the media!
Good luck if you decide to use this dealership!
