I went to a Ken Garff (Orem) dealership and the dumba*es there had the nerve to tell me that running my credit was required as part of the Patriot Act. This was even though I had my own financing lined up. WRONG!
The only time that needs to happen is if you're opening an account at a bank. If a car dealership tells you that they need to run your credit as part of the Patriot Act, tell them to shove it and go somewhere else.
