When I obtained a credit card from First Equity Card Corp., they offered a payment protection policy. I was told that it would cover my payments in the event of job loss.
I lost my job of 27 1/2 years on July 28th.in October I filed a claim as I was no longer able to make my payments. My claim was denied, I was informed that I had purchased disability insurance. I refuted this as I do not attempt to purchase disability policies as I have a chronic illness and do not qualify for disability policies, additionally I have as long standing disability policy through AXA.
I was transferred to several different people, reuqested a supervisor, she was rude, dismissive and told me that I should just pay my bills. Several people I talked to were obviously those outsource persons and refused to transfer me to a manager, one cursed me and hung up in my face.
First Equity is still charging me for the insurance, has cut my credit limit from $10,000 to what I owed, raised the interest rate and has refused to listen. This was a classic bait and switch. I need help.
