We received a mail advertisement and, out of desperation, contacted Beacon. They sent us the contract, told us how much they'd reduce the debt and how much it would cost us per month (over $450/mo.).
Subsequently, we did everything they instructed us to with regard to handling the creditors if they kept hounding us - we read the statement to the creditor on the phone; we faxed Beacon the notice that we were still being contacted. Beacon did NOTHING about any of it.
One of the creditors said Beacon had not paid them anything; and today, we received legal notice that we are being sued by this creditor. Not only did Beacon not do what they said they would do, they actually made things WORSE for us!
A warning to anyone reading this: DO NOT use this company under ANY circumstances! A search of the CA bar records shows this attorney has a disciplinary record: http://members. Calbar.ca. Gov/search/member_detail. Aspx? X=153916
I wish I had researched the company more carefully BEFORE I gave them all that money!
