Recently I decided to get my yearly free credit reports. After viewing them I noticed that NCO had recieved a debt from MBNA in the amount of 2,979.00 and had increased the amount due to 4501.00. How is this possible? I read the FTC's report on consumer protection and it states that they can not add on additional interset or fees, or at least this is what I understand from reading the law. I also noticed that NCO does inquiries on my credit report every 2 - 3 months which stay on my report for 2 yrs. At the rate they are checking my report they will never fall off. I'm not sure what to do to get them off my back. I understand they have recently changed names and I am curious if I will continue to have to deal with them under a new name soon. I really need some advice on how to handle this situation.
