Had a personal checking account with Compass. An unknown entity started pulling money from my account, I started receiving letters from Compass telling me I was overdrawn. Went into bank, filed dispute per their request. Paid the money owed, although it wasn't me. Told manager to close the account.
A month later started getting more letters telling me I was overdrawn again. I went back to Compass, asked why this was happening as I had closed the account. Teller checked, said it was never closed.
I now have bad credit and a bad mark to not be able to open other checking accounts as Compass never really closed my account. I saw an ad in local Pennysaver newspaper with a similar story about Compass Bank on Pensacola Blvd, called the person, they had a class action suit filed against Compass for fradulent practices against them and others. Never found out what happened as I moved out of Florida.
