Someone from Sureway Beneficial called me on 3-04-05 and said you have been approved for a mastercard with a credit line of $2500 with an APR of 0% for the next three years, all I need from you is $249 for the application fee which will be charged on my checking account and some personal information". It sounded too good to be true but I fell for it. I gave her all my personal info including my SN# and D. License#.
I called the company to find out what the status was on my card and at first the phone number they gave me would not even work. I would call at least once a day most of the time I would get a voicemail. When I would get a hold of someone they seemed to know nothing and would tell me its on the way. Then a woman I talked to said that there was something sent out on 4-15-05 and if I dont get the card by 5-2-05 to call back and they will track the package. I did receive the package and it was not what I thought I was getting.
It had a brochure to Cancun or to Orlando, FL. There was also something in there about applying to get an advance of $500. A few other things were in there also. But there was a cover letter in there from Sureway Beneficial stating that I should be recieving my card in sometime, blah, blah, blah. The address they had at the bottom of the letter was opposite of the one listed on this site. The address on the site is 3458 Avenue A, but the address on the form is Po Box 3548. The telephone # is also different. The site has 877-621-2188, I have 866-642-9465. I too was one of the people that fell in this trap. Although this has been 2 months ago I promise you I will get my money back or they will send me a credit card.
I am one of those people that become a pest and people will get tired of dealing with me and they will do anything to get me out of their hair. And hanging up on me isn't one way of getting rid of me. I know it will probably cost me more in the long run but these people will know what hit them.
