Wachovia Bank Misleading, dishonest, money stealing company RIPOFF

Just a quick note to all customers or future customers of South Trust Bank, Now Wachovia Bank. Stay away!!! Choose any other bank at all cost. It if not be prepared to be mislead, and deceived.

Examples: South Trust was my second bank, the first (Jax's Navy) I use for savings and bill paying. South Trust is my spending money bank. One time I knew a had around $22.00 in my acct. I knew before hand that south trust would charge $1.50 for ATM usage if I did not go to their bank on top of any charges of the ATM I used. So I pulled up to a Publix (Free ATM), checked my balance and pulled $20.00 out.

Now I should have had. 50 cents left, but oh no. South Trust charges me $1.50 for the transaction, and another $1.50 just because I checked my balance! Are you kidding me! Needless to say I end up with ISF fees of $30.00. I end up getting refunded since south trust didn't seem to informed me of this bogus charge. Lesson 1 learned. Don't check balance at another ATM if you don't want to be charged.

Example 2: Now this example doesn't start out as a shot on South trust. This time I went to the bank and knew I had $237 and some change. I went to make sure that a few transactions went through. They showed me what had already come out, and I knew that a $21.00, and two $3.00 charge were still pending. So I left $37.00 in the acct and took out $200.00. That left $37.00 to cover $27.00 in transactions.

What happen was the $21.00 was for sushi and my bill was $17.00 plus $4.00 tip. The restaurant first charged me $17.00 for the meal and my bank held it. Then Charged me the full $21.00, with the intent of placing the $17.00 back in to my acct.

Doing this left my balance at $20.00, so I first get hit with ISF fee for the $21.00, then the two $3.00 charges, and last the $200.00. Do the math all my transactions cover the amount that was in my acct. But because of the chain reaction I'm left with $120 neg in my acct. The bank refunds me the money, but decides to take it back along with past refunds, in the mean time, telling me I knew what I was doing, that I was misusing my Check card, and knew I didn't have funds to cover charges, but still spent money I didn't have.in the end I've closed the acct payed the neg balance, and have been reporting South Trust to every bad/better business report I can find on the Web.
