This has never happened to me in the past, but I was in a peculiar situation recently because of the tactics used by www.yahoo.com and www.flickr.com.
The problem is this: I was a frequent user of Yahoo Photos to upload my pictures and manage and share them within my close circle. About six months back, Yahoo shifted my photos to Flickr.com. It was working fine for a few days, and now I got an email informing me that my privileges have expired and I have to pay an annual subscription fee of $24.95 in order to continue the services with Flickr. Flickr was decent enough to inform me that I can download my pictures in case I do not want the privileged services, but the route by which one can download is not consumer friendly. The route is to download the images one by one and keep deleting in order to get the older pictures. Now if I have some 1000 pictures and the estimated time for downloading a single picture is one minute, roughly it will consume 1000 minutes, which is roughly a day, and the cost would be around 1000 Rs, i.e. $25. Now I have no choice but to pay this sum, which I think is forced upon me and some 100,000-odd people.
