I signed up for a free trial on Yahoo Personals. They were not supposed to charge me. Six months later I saw a check on hold at my bank, Wachovia. I called them, and they told me they could not do anything about it, that since I have a debit they could not stop it, even though I did not allow the payment to go through. That payment was going through without my consent.
I called Yahoo Personals again, and they told me that they supposedly emailed me and tried to tell me that my monthly payments were not going through. I told them I was not supposed to pay anything, and I asked why they waited six months to try charging me instead of calling me.
This is abuse. I call this abuse and fraud, because I never allowed Yahoo Personals to charge me for anything. I never applied for any service besides the free profile. Plus, my bank charged me 60 dollars for overdraft. I told my bank it was not my fault and that since I had called them, they should have put a stop on the payment. Since I did not have enough money in my account, my bank charged me 60 dollars, and now I have a negative balance because of Yahoo Personals.
