Repeated roof leaks, foundation cracks and sagging ceiling in 2007 home

Construction & Repair James3421 0

I bought my house in 2007. It was abandoned by the people who built it, so I bought it as a foreclosure. I figured out why they left after only 6 months post build. This is the worst house I have ever encountered. I had the house inspected prior to escrow and it was so young that nothing surfaced. ...

Wall corners lifting and entrance tiles cracking repeatedly

Construction & Repair December15 0

The wall corners keep lifting. D.R. Horton sent a carpenter to fix them, and then I called them again in 2007 to fix them. The corners continue to lift. Also, the entrance tiles cracked, and the grout is cracking and coming off. The tiles were fixed one time, but they continue to crack. Some of the ...

Siding installed incorrectly and corners breaking on 7-year-old home

Construction & Repair shelby9533 0

D.R. Horton is a commercial home building company. They installed Maxi tile siding on our home and told us that it was Hardi Plank. That does not matter that much, as they both have a 30-year warranty. The problem lies in the siding being installed incorrectly, causing excessive corner breakage on ...

Pre-drywall walk-through never given and builder refused to make amends in Maryland

Construction & Repair Aries Mom 0

I wrote a contract with them in July for a new construction SFH in Mitchellville, MD. Part of the steps they go over in the pre-buying and pre-construction meeting are that you receive a Pre-Dry Wall and Pre-Close Walk thru. Long story short they never gave me the Pre-Dry Wall Walk Through and ...
