World Labs

World Labs Technologies, Inc., a San Francisco company co-founded by Fei-Fei Li, sells Marble, a 3D-world generator with Free, Standard ($20), Pro ($35) and Max ($95) monthly plans, plus a separate World API that uses prepaid credits, with post-period billing for overages. Its help pages say subscriptions auto-renew and cancellation gives no pro-rated refund; Marble subscription credits expire each billing period and top-ups after one year, while API credit expiry is described differently in the Terms and the API documentation. Disputes go to individual arbitration with a 30-day opt-out. AMD announced on September 28, 2026 an agreement to acquire the company for about $8.2 billion in stock; as announced, closing was expected by the end of 2026.

Using Marble or the World API? Billing, cancellation and refund terms to check

World Labs Technologies, Inc. (World Labs) sells Marble, a 3D-world generator, on monthly subscriptions, and a separate World API that uses prepaid credits, with post-period billing for overages. The two are billed separately, so first work out which one a charge belongs to.

Marble plans. According to the Marble pricing page (checked 2026-09-30): Free, $0 a month, 7,000 credits, up to 4 world generations; Standard, $20 a month, 20,000 credits, up to 12; Pro, $35 a month, 40,000 credits, up to 25, listed with "Commercial rights"; Max, $95 a month, 120,000 credits, up to 75; Enterprise, custom. Credits are spent per action, for example 80 for a text or single-image input and 1,500 for a Marble 1.0 or 1.1 world generation. Paid plans can buy top-up credits: $5 for 5,000, $20 for 22,000, $50 for 63,000.

Cancelling. World Labs' billing help page says: "You can cancel your plan by navigating to your Account page on the lower left corner of Marble, clicking 'Manage account,' clicking 'Manage subscription,' and clicking the 'Cancel subscription' button beneath your current plan. You'll retain access to all the features of your current plan until the end of your billing period, at which point you'll return to the Free plan. Note that no pro-rated refund will be provided." The same page says the plan "will automatically renew at the end of your billing cycle." To close the account itself, the page says to email [email protected]. Terms of Service section 6.4(e) says that upon closing an Account or cancelling Subscription Services: "(ii) automatic renewal will be disabled; (iii) any Service Credits (including Top-Up Credits) expire and are waived, effective when the Account is closed or Subscription Service cancelled; and (iv) in the case of cancelling Subscription Services, you will retain access to the Subscription Services tier through the end of your current billing period." The Terms do not spell out how clause (iii) (credits expire when the subscription is cancelled) and clause (iv) (tier access to the end of the period) fit together, so a subscriber who still has credits and wants to use them first can ask [email protected]. For closing the account the section adds: "if you request to close your Account, your Account is deemed closed the same day as your request, no refunds will be provided, and all available Service Credits considered waived and expired."

Refunds. Section 6.4(e)(i) says that on cancelling or closing an Account "no refunds will be provided for current subscription payments, unused subscription-allocated Service Credits, or purchased Top-Up Credits." Section 6.4(f) says that, subject to 6.4(e), "unless otherwise specified in an Order Form, or required by Applicable Law, all fees are non-refundable," while World Labs "may, in its sole discretion, provide Service Credits for documented service outages or performance issues"; such credits "will be applied to your next invoice and cannot be refunded as cash," and "Any overpayments will be credited to your account or refunded at World Labs' discretion." Subscription credits do not roll over; top-up credits roll over, expire one year after purchase and are used after subscription credits (help page and section 6.6(b)). Upgrades are different: the help page says an upgrade gives a prorated refund for unused credits on the old plan, applied to the cost of the new plan, and a downgrade takes effect at the end of the billing period with no pro-rated refund. Terms of Service section 11.2(a) adds that if World Labs terminates an account for convenience, it will "provide a pro rata refund of any prepaid fees for the unused portion of the then-current billing period." How to ask: the published billing contact is [email protected] (billing help page and Terms section 14); the Terms and help pages read on 2026-09-30 describe no separate refund-request form and state no response time for a refund request, other than the 30-day response to a formal charge dispute described next.

Disputing a charge (Marble or API). Section 6.4(d) says users "may dispute charges in good faith by providing written notice to World Labs at [email protected] or [email protected] within thirty (30) days of the invoice date, specifying the basis for the dispute." It is not limited to unauthorized charges. The section adds that World Labs "will investigate disputed charges and respond within thirty (30) days" and "will not suspend Services for disputed amounts during the investigation period, provided you pay any undisputed portions of invoices when due." For an API invoice this means emailing one of those two addresses within 30 days of the invoice date, saying which invoice and which usage period is disputed and why (the usage page at platform.worldlabs.ai/usage lists usage events), and paying the undisputed part. The Terms describe no card-issuer chargeback process; section 6.4(d) is a written dispute made to World Labs. Section 6.4(b) says fees can change "at any time" and "become effective immediately upon posting" unless World Labs specifies otherwise; a user who disagrees may cancel.

Marble subscription overage. Exhibit A to the Terms (Order Form, section 3.2(b)) says: "If your Service Credit usage in any billing period exceeds your subscription plan's monthly allocation ('Overage Usage'), you will be charged for such Overage Usage at your next billing cycle," calculated as excess credits multiplied by "the per-credit rate for your subscription tier as specified on Appendix A." It adds that an outstanding overage balance must be paid "in full before being eligible to purchase Top-Up Credits." Appendix A says the fee schedule is "the public Pricing Page"; the Marble pricing page and billing help page read on 2026-09-30 state no per-credit overage rate, and the help page says top-ups are for when you "run out." This Marble overage is separate from the API overage below.

API charges. World Labs' documentation says Marble and the API "bill separately, and credits are not interchangeable in either direction," and that a user "can be on the Marble Free plan and still receive an invoice for API usage." API credits are sold at "$1.00 USD per 1,250 credits" (minimum purchase 6,250 credits or $5.00). Per usage event, the pricing page lists: world generation 1,500 credits (draft 150), pano generation 0, 80 or 100 depending on the input, and HQ mesh export 3,500 credits ($2.80); Marble 1.1 Plus adds 0 to 1,500 variable credits for larger worlds; PLY splat export is free. The API pricing page says: if the balance is too low when a request arrives, the API returns "402 Payment Required"; but a request that starts while the balance is low "can cost more credits than you have left and take your balance below zero," and such credits "become an overage": "at the end of each monthly billing period, usage your prepaid credits did not cover is converted to USD ... and charged to your payment method on file." The API FAQ states that a charge "can arrive weeks after your last request" and that turning auto-refill off "does not cap usage." The help page says that anyone who bought a Marble subscription intending to use the API should contact [email protected].

Do API credits expire? The Terms and the API documentation differ. The API pricing page says "API credits do not expire." Terms of Service section 6.7(c) says: "Unless otherwise specified in an applicable Order Form or on the Pricing Page, API credits expire one (1) year from the date of purchase and are consumed based on API usage. API access is contingent upon sufficient Service Credit balance, and API calls will be rejected when credit balance is insufficient." The clause begins "Unless otherwise specified ... on the Pricing Page," and the current API documentation describes no expiry and describes usage that can go below zero, so the two texts are presented as written; a user who relies on either rule can ask [email protected] to confirm it in writing. Marble credits are different again: subscription credits expire at the end of each monthly billing period (Terms Exhibit A section 3.2(a): "Unused Service Credits expire on the last day of each monthly billing period"), and Marble top-ups expire one year after purchase (billing help page and Terms section 6.6(b)).

Also useful: World Labs' subprocessor list (as of November 12, 2025) names Stripe for payment processing and Metronome for usage-based billing.

Content ownership, data use, appeals and arbitration in the Terms

This section quotes the Terms of Service ("last updated date: January 21, 2026"), the Privacy Policy (last updated November 12, 2025) and the Acceptable Use Policy (last modified November 12, 2025), all on worldlabs.ai. Read the current versions before relying on them; the Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy each say World Labs may revise them at any time.

Who owns the Output. Section 3.3(a): for Free Account Users "World Labs retains all rights in and to any Output generated by Free Account Users, excluding any portion of User Inputs incorporated into the Output," with a license back to the user "solely for personal, Non-Commercial Use." Section 3.3(b): "Paid Account Users own all rights, title, and interest in and to Outputs generated through their use of the Services," and may use them "for any purpose, including Commercial Purposes." Section 13.23 defines Paid Account Users to include "active Standard, Pro, or Max Subscription Service plans" and users with purchased and unused credits. Section 3.3(d) adds that if you access the Services through API interfaces, "you may use, reproduce, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, distribute, and sublicense the Output for Commercial Purposes, subject to the specific terms and limitations set forth in this TOS." Account status "is determined at the time of Output generation" (section 3.3(c)). Note the pricing page lists "Commercial rights" under the Pro plan (and the billing help page says Pro "Includes commercial rights to generated worlds"), while section 13.23 counts Standard as a paid account; the two pages are presented here as written, and a Standard subscriber who needs certainty for commercial use can ask [email protected]. Section 3.7(b) also says paid users, on World Labs' reasonable request, "shall include attribution to World Labs as the service provider" when publicly distributing or commercially exploiting Outputs.

Data license and model training. Section 3.6: "you grant World Labs a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, fully paid, and sublicensable license to collect, aggregate, use, and analyze User Content for business purposes, including further development of World Labs Products or the Services, marketing and promotions, benchmarking, or training of World Labs AI Models." "User Content" means Input and Output (section 13.41). "For Free Account Users, this license is irrevocable, subject to Applicable Law. For Paid Account Users, this license is revocable, and you may opt out from World Labs' use of your User Content, including via your Account page. Revocation applies prospectively and does not require removal of User Content from AI Models already trained prior to revocation." The Privacy Policy says training uses "your User Submitted Content ... as described in our Terms of Service" and that content used for training "may be retained longer to maintain AI Model integrity." Section 4.1 warns that inputs and associated information "such as your username or profile photo" "may be visible to others" if shared through the Services.

Privacy contacts. The Privacy Policy lists the Legal Department ([email protected]), Support ([email protected]) and the address 640 2nd Street, Floor #3, San Francisco, CA 94107. Section 5 says World Labs retains personal information "for the greater of as long as necessary to provide the Services, to comply with our contractual or other legal obligations, or for our legitimate business purposes, including AI Model improvement." Its "Your choices" section covers account settings, marketing opt-out and cookies, and says that if a user requests deletion of required information "we may not be able to provide you Services and you would need to close your account." The subprocessor list (as of November 12, 2025) names Metronome, PostHog, Stripe, Google, Sentry, OpenAI and AWS.

Suspension, termination and appeals. Section 4.3(b) lets World Labs "terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Services" if User Content is, in its sole determination, reasonably likely to violate law or the Terms; section 11.3 allows termination for material breach after a 30-day cure period, or immediately for security violations, illegal activity or intellectual property infringement. The Acceptable Use Policy (section 3) says a user who faces "content removal, account warnings, suspension, or termination" has "the right to appeal" by emailing [email protected] with the account information, the action taken and the grounds; it says "We aim to review appeals within fourteen (14) business days" and that the reviewer was not involved in the original decision. Violations of the policy can be reported to [email protected]. Under section 11.2(b) a user who terminates gets no refund of prepaid fees or credits.

Disputes with World Labs. Section 10 requires binding individual arbitration and a class-action waiver; small-claims cases and intellectual-property claims are excepted. Before filing, a party sends a written notice to [email protected] and waits 30 days (section 10.3); arbitration is filed with National Arbitration and Mediation and, if it is unavailable, the American Arbitration Association. Section 10.9: "You may opt out of this arbitration requirement by emailing [email protected] within thirty (30) days of the later of" the date the Terms were first accepted or first noticed, with the name, mailing address, email and a clear statement of opting out. Section 10.8 says all claims "must be filed within one year of when they arise, or they are permanently barred." Section 10.10 lets a user reject a change to Section 10 by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of the change (changes can only be rejected as a whole, and the earlier arbitration terms then continue). Section 10.12: "If you live outside the United States, you may choose arbitration under this section or pursue dispute resolution in your home jurisdiction" under the law of your country of residence. Governing law is the Federal Arbitration Act and California law, with any court proceedings in San Francisco County (section 10.13). Section 14 also gives California consumers the notice required by Civil Code 1789.3: the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services, California Department of Consumer Affairs, 1625 North Market Boulevard, Suite N-112, Sacramento, California 95834, telephone 1 (800) 952-5210.

Section 2.1 says users must be at least 18 years old.

Company background and the AMD acquisition as announced

World Labs Technologies, Inc. describes itself as "a leading spatial intelligence company, building frontier models that can perceive, generate, reason, and interact with virtual and physical worlds" (About page). The company says it was founded by Fei-Fei Li "alongside Justin Johnson, Ben Mildenhall, and Christoph Lassner" and refers to "our founding in 2024." Its Terms of Service name World Labs Technologies, Inc. as the contracting party and give 640 2nd Street, Floor #3, San Francisco, CA 94107 as its address. The World Labs pages we read (Terms, Privacy Policy, help center, footer) list no phone number; the published channels are email addresses, the Marble help center and a Discord server (the help center points users to the Discord help channel for questions).

Product. The company says Marble, its first product, "enables anyone to create spatially coherent, high-fidelity, persistent 3D worlds from images, video, text, and 3D layouts" (About page). A company blog post dated November 12, 2025 says Marble became "generally available for anyone to use" that day after an earlier beta. The pricing page currently also shows a banner for Atlas, described as "Coming to Marble soon," with a waitlist. The World API and the World Labs Platform are sold separately from Marble.

Funding, as stated by the company. A World Labs blog post dated February 18, 2026 says the company "has raised $1 billion in new funding" and names among its investors "AMD, Autodesk, Emerson Collective, Fidelity Management & Research Company, NVIDIA, and Sea, among others." The About page lists further investors and partners.

Acquisition by AMD (as announced). On September 28, 2026, AMD announced "a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs," in an "all-stock transaction ... valued at approximately $8.2 billion," "expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions" (AMD press release, newsroom.amd.com/news/amd-acquire-world-labs/). AMD's Form 8-K, filed with the SEC on September 28, 2026 (sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2488/000000248826000182/amd-20260926.htm, Item 3.02), states that on September 26, 2026 AMD entered into an Agreement and Plan of Merger "to acquire all of the equity interests in World Labs Technologies, Inc." for "a total purchase price of approximately $8.2 billion to be paid in shares of the Company's common stock," and that the number of shares "is not known" and will be calculated from AMD's volume-weighted average share price before closing. AMD's release says that, following the close of the transaction, Dr. Fei-Fei Li "will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist"; World Labs' own post of September 28, 2026 says it "has signed a definitive agreement to join AMD." AMD's and World Labs' announcements gave the expected closing as the end of 2026; no later closing announcement was found in the sources checked through 2026-09-30 (AMD's list of 8-K filings on EDGAR, whose newest entry is the September 28 filing, and the World Labs blog index, whose newest posts are dated September 28). Neither the AMD release nor World Labs' post that we read describes any change to Marble plans, prices or terms; the Terms of Service and pricing described on this page are those in force on 2026-09-30.

Complaint record: USAComplaints, BBB, Trustpilot and court searches

USAComplaints: no approved posts about World Labs or Marble were found as of 2026-09-30. Posts about other businesses that share the word "Marble" (a dessert franchise, a stone dealer) are unrelated and are not linked here.

Other sources checked on 2026-09-30, reported separately:

  • BBB: the result pages for a search for "World Labs Technologies" in "San Francisco, CA" (bbb.org/search?find_country=USA&find_text=World%20Labs%20Technologies&find_loc=San%20Francisco%2C%20CA&find_type=Business) and for "World Labs" in "San Francisco, CA" (same address with find_text=World%20Labs) each showed "No results." No BBB profile was identified in these two searches.
  • Trustpilot: trustpilot.com/review/worldlabs.ai and trustpilot.com/review/marble.worldlabs.ai each showed "The page you're looking for could not be found." The first results page of trustpilot.com/search?query=world%20labs (10 of 3151 listed companies) did not include World Labs.
  • CourtListener (federal dockets and opinions), API queries caseName:"World Labs Technologies" and caseName:"World Labs" (courtlistener.com/api/rest/v4/search/, types r and o): no case naming World Labs Technologies, Inc.; the only hit for "World Labs" was an unrelated 2015 Colorado bankruptcy of "One World Labs, Inc." CourtListener does not cover every court filing, so this does not rule out cases in other courts.
  • Status page: status.worldlabs.ai did not resolve in DNS on the day of the check, so no status page at that address was found. The company's Security page (worldlabs.ai/security) lists [email protected] for vulnerability reports and states that it does "not currently operate a public bug bounty program."

These are results of searches on one day. They show what was found in the sources above and are not a count of user experiences. No user complaints about World Labs were reviewed for this page.

Where to complain. Terms section 14 says: "If you have a question or complaint regarding the Services, please send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]," or write to 640 2nd Street, Floor #3, San Francisco, CA 94107, and warns that "email communications will not necessarily be secure," so payment card details should not be included. The documents describe three separate routes: (1) a general complaint or billing question (support@, legal@ or the postal address); (2) an appeal of an enforcement action such as suspension or content removal ([email protected], Acceptable Use Policy section 3.3); (3) a legal claim (Terms section 10: written notice to [email protected] and 30 days of informal negotiation before arbitration). California consumers can also use the Department of Consumer Affairs contact in section 14, and any consumer can file a complaint with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or with their state attorney general.

Is World Labs Legitimate?

World Labs Technologies, Inc. is a San Francisco-based company that publishes its Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy under that name and address. AMD, a public company, identified it by the same legal name in a Form 8-K filed with the SEC on September 28, 2026, in which AMD reports a merger agreement dated September 26, 2026 to acquire it for a total purchase price of approximately $8.2 billion in AMD stock; AMD has said closing is expected by the end of 2026. Its investors named in the company's own February 2026 post include AMD, Autodesk, Emerson Collective, Fidelity Management & Research Company, NVIDIA and Sea.

What we could not confirm: the company's state of incorporation (the California Secretary of State search was blocked by a bot check on the day we tried), any BBB profile (none appeared in the two BBB searches described above), or any Trustpilot page. No lawsuit, regulator action or data-breach notice naming the company was found in the sources listed in the complaint section. This page assigns World Labs no rating; the billing, refund and data terms above are quoted so readers can weigh them against their own use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel a Marble subscription?

World Labs' billing help page says to open the Account page at the lower left of Marble, click "Manage account," click "Manage subscription," and click the "Cancel subscription" button beneath the current plan. Access to the plan's features continues until the end of the billing period, after which the account returns to the Free plan, and "no pro-rated refund will be provided." To close the account itself, the page says to email [email protected].

Does World Labs give refunds for Marble subscriptions or credits?

Terms of Service section 6.4(e) says that on cancelling or closing an account "no refunds will be provided for current subscription payments, unused subscription-allocated Service Credits, or purchased Top-Up Credits," and section 6.4(f) says "all fees are non-refundable" unless an Order Form or applicable law provides otherwise. World Labs "may, in its sole discretion, provide Service Credits for documented service outages or performance issues." The help page describes a prorated credit when upgrading between plans. To ask for a refund or billing change, email [email protected]; the pages read describe no separate refund-request form or response time. Any charge disputed in good faith must be disputed in writing to [email protected] or [email protected] within 30 days of the invoice date, and undisputed portions remain payable (section 6.4(d)).

Do Marble and World API credits expire?

According to World Labs' billing help page, unused credits that come with a subscription "do not roll over to the next month." Top-up credits "roll over to the next month and expire 1 year from the date of purchase," and subscription credits are used before top-up credits. Terms of Service section 6.4(e) says all Service Credits, including top-ups, expire and are waived when an account is closed or a subscription is cancelled. API credits are described differently in two places: the API pricing page says "API credits do not expire," while Terms section 6.7(c) says that, "unless otherwise specified in an applicable Order Form or on the Pricing Page," API credits expire one year from the date of purchase. Both texts are current as of 2026-09-30.

Why was I charged for the World API when I am on the free Marble plan?

World Labs' documentation says Marble and the World API are separate accounts with separate balances, so "you can be on the Marble Free plan and still receive an invoice for API usage." The API FAQ describes a charge that arrives after the usage: a request that starts while the prepaid balance is low can take it below zero, and the uncovered usage becomes an overage that is charged at the end of the monthly billing period at $1.00 per 1,250 credits, and the FAQ says turning auto-refill off does not cap usage. The FAQ says to compare the invoice's billing period with the usage page at platform.worldlabs.ai/usage, and the billing help page says to contact [email protected].

Who owns the worlds I generate in Marble?

The Terms of Service split this by account status at the time of generation. Section 3.3(a) says World Labs retains all rights in Output generated by Free Account Users and gives them a license for personal, non-commercial use; section 3.3(b) says Paid Account Users "own all rights, title, and interest in and to Outputs" and may use them for commercial purposes. Section 13.23 counts Standard, Pro and Max plans as paid accounts, while the pricing page lists "Commercial rights" among features from the Pro plan up. For a commercial project, get written confirmation from [email protected] for your plan.

Does World Labs use my uploads and generated worlds to train its models, and can I opt out or delete my data?

Terms of Service section 3.6 grants World Labs a license to use User Content (inputs and outputs) for purposes that include "training of World Labs AI Models." For Free Account Users the license is "irrevocable, subject to Applicable Law"; for Paid Account Users it is "revocable" and they "may opt out ... including via your Account page," with revocation applying prospectively and not requiring removal of content from models already trained. The opt-out is offered in section 3.6 to Paid Account Users only; the Terms and Privacy Policy pages read on 2026-09-30 give no click-by-click instructions beyond "including via your Account page," so a paid user who cannot find the setting can ask [email protected]. On deleting data: the billing help page says to email [email protected] to close an account; the Privacy Policy states no completion period for deletion and says content used for AI training "may be retained longer to maintain AI Model integrity"; and Terms section 11.4 says that after termination World Labs "may delete your User Content" without promising immediate deletion.

What can I do if my World Labs account is suspended or content is removed?

The Acceptable Use Policy says a user who faces "content removal, account warnings, suspension, or termination" has the right to appeal by emailing [email protected] with account information, the action taken, the specific grounds, supporting evidence and the preferred resolution. It says World Labs aims to review appeals within fourteen business days, that the reviewer was not involved in the original decision, and that the decision will be emailed with an explanation. Section 4.3(b) of the Terms reserves World Labs' right to suspend access over User Content in its sole determination.

Do the World Labs Terms require arbitration, and can I opt out?

Section 10 of the Terms of Service requires binding individual arbitration and waives class actions and jury trials, with exceptions for small-claims court and intellectual-property claims. A user may opt out by emailing [email protected] "within thirty (30) days of the later of" first accepting the Terms or first having notice of the arbitration agreement, including full name, mailing address, email and a clear statement opting out (section 10.9). Section 10.3 requires a written notice to [email protected] and a 30-day informal resolution period before filing. Section 10.12 lets users outside the United States choose arbitration or dispute resolution in their home jurisdiction.

Is World Labs being acquired by AMD, and does that change my subscription?

AMD announced on September 28, 2026 a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.2 billion, expected to close by the end of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions; AMD's Form 8-K (sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2488/000000248826000182/amd-20260926.htm) names World Labs Technologies, Inc. and a merger agreement dated September 26, 2026. The AMD release and World Labs' own announcement that we read do not describe any change to Marble plans or terms. No closing announcement was found in the sources checked through 2026-09-30 (AMD's 8-K list on EDGAR and the World Labs blog index).
