Wingstop complaints, refunds and contact: where to start (checked October 16, 2026)

Most Wingstop problems start at one restaurant: a missing or wrong item, a long wait, an online order that was not made, a charge you dispute, or an employment issue. In its 10-K for fiscal 2025 the company says that 'approximately 98% of Wingstop's restaurants' are 'owned and operated by independent franchisees', and that 'we and our franchisees operated 3,056 restaurants' as of December 27, 2025 (its latest 10-Q gives 3,255 restaurants system-wide as of June 27, 2026). So the restaurant that served you is usually run by an independent franchisee, while the brand, the menu and the ordering technology come from Wingstop Inc.

Practical order of steps. (1) Ask for the manager at the restaurant while you are there and keep your receipt or order confirmation. (2) If you ordered through the app or website, use the order-help or contact options on wingstop.com; the investor site footer links the company's FAQ, Terms and Privacy pages on wingstop.com. (3) If you paid by card and the restaurant will not correct a charge, you can dispute it with your card issuer. (4) For a food-safety concern, local health departments inspect individual restaurants.

What this page could not verify. On October 16, 2026 the pages www.wingstop.com/contact-us, /faq, /terms-of-use and /privacy redirected to the investor relations site in our browser, so we did not read Wingstop's guest-support contact details, refund rules or Terms. We therefore state none of them here. Check the current wording on wingstop.com before relying on any refund, cancellation or rewards term. The corporate number on the company's SEC filing is (972) 686-6500 (Dallas); it is the registrant's corporate line, not a labelled guest-support line.

Regulator routes. Consumer complaints about a business can also be sent to your state attorney general; workplace pay questions go to the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division or the state labor agency. These routes are general; this page does not claim that a specific agency has opened a file on Wingstop.

Wingstop: who runs the restaurants and who owns the brand

Wingstop Inc. is a Delaware corporation with principal executive offices at 2801 N Central Expressway, Suite 1600, Dallas, Texas 75204 (Form 10-K cover page). Its common stock trades on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol WING; the 10-K says the stock has traded there since 2015. The company says: 'The first Wingstop opened in Garland, Texas in 1994, and we began franchising Wingstop restaurants in 1997.'

The 10-K describes the business model as follows: 'The Company is primarily a franchisor ... We ... generate revenues by charging royalties, advertising fees, and franchise fees to our franchisees and by operating a number of our own restaurants.' It reports 2,999 franchised restaurants and 3,056 restaurants in total (franchised plus company-owned) as of December 27, 2025, in 47 states and 18 countries and U.S. territories (the 10-Q for the quarter ended June 27, 2026 says: 'As of June 27, 2026, the Company had a total of 3,255 restaurants system-wide'). Domestic franchisees 'are required to contribute 5.5% of gross sales' to the Wingstop Restaurants Advertising Fund.

The company's investor site is titled 'Wingstop Restaurants Inc.'; court dockets often name 'Wingstop Restaurants, Inc.' as a defendant, and the 10-K exhibit list names 'Wingstop Restaurants Inc.' as 'Manager' under a securitization agreement. Exhibit 21.1 to the 10-K lists Wingstop Restaurants Inc. (Texas) and Wingstop Franchising LLC (Delaware) among the subsidiaries of Wingstop Inc.

The 10-K also says the company implemented 'Wingstop Smart Kitchen, our proprietary kitchen operating platform, in all domestic restaurants' and that digital sales are 'above 60%'. These are the company's own statements.

Complaints and reviews: usacomplaints.com archive, BBB and Trustpilot (as displayed October 16, 2026)

This site's archive. usacomplaints.com links 7 archived posts to this page, written between 2009 and 2013. They describe individual visits or jobs at specific restaurants in Maryland, Arizona, Florida, California and Texas: slow service and raw food (2 posts), a refused refund for an online order (1), a promotional offer a restaurant would not honor (1), changed seasoning at one location (1), employees' conduct seen on a social network (1) and an employment complaint about a franchise operator (1). They are accounts by their authors, not verified by us. Because Wingstop is mostly franchised, each concerns one restaurant and its operator.

BBB. BBB has a file for 'Wingstop Inc. (Corporate Office)', 2801 N Central Expy, Dallas, TX. As displayed on October 16, 2026 it shows 'NOT BBB Accredited', BBB Rating D-, and the statement 'Failure to respond to 517 complaint(s) filed against business'. Its complaints tab says '540 total complaints in the last 3 years. 106 complaints filed in the last 12 months.' (the second figure is a separate 12-month count, not an addition). Its reviews tab says '1.08 /5 stars Average of 115 Customer Reviews'. These are BBB's figures and customer statements; BBB's file does not distinguish which complaints concern franchisee-operated restaurants. A separate BBB file for one restaurant ('Wingstop', 5415 S Cooper St, Arlington, TX) shows 'Not Rated' and 'This business has 0 complaints'; the two files are not combined.

Trustpilot. The Trustpilot page for wingstop.com shows 874 reviews and a TrustScore of 3.1, labelled 'Unclaimed profile', as displayed on October 16, 2026. Trustpilot says it does not fact-check reviews. Figures from different sources are not added together.

Court and government records involving Wingstop and its franchisees

Company's own statement. The 10-K (Item 3) says the company is 'involved in various claims and legal actions that arise in the ordinary course of our business, including claims and actions resulting from employment-related and franchise-related matters' and that it is 'not party to any pending legal proceedings that we believe would have a material adverse effect'.

Dockets. A CourtListener case-name search on October 16, 2026 returned 39 federal dockets with 'Wingstop' in the case name. Most are not consumer food disputes: they include patent cases, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) cases, trademark cases brought by Wingstop Franchising LLC, and commercial disputes; the docket listings do not describe the claims in detail. Two are described below. These are allegations or procedural facts, not findings.

Franchisees. On September 16, 2024 the California Labor Commissioner's Office announced a $1.7 million settlement 'benefiting approximately 550 workers' in a case about the owner of five Wingstop locations in Bakersfield; the release says the owner 'created separate corporate entities to circumvent labor laws'. The settling party was the franchisee, not Wingstop Inc.; the release is the agency's description.

Searches of FTC, CFPB, CPSC and FDA recall pages were not run for this page, so none of those are described.

Wingstop Inc. is an SEC registrant (Commission File No. 001-37425) and files annual reports; its fiscal 2025 10-K, filed February 18, 2026, reports 3,056 restaurants in 47 states and 18 countries and U.S. territories as of December 27, 2025 (the 10-Q for the quarter ended June 27, 2026 reports 3,255 system-wide) and gives a Dallas, Texas headquarters address and telephone number. The brand's restaurants are mostly owned by independent franchisees, so service and pay practices can differ by operator.
