WHOOP complaints: cancel, return, refund and where to complain

This page was checked on 2026-10-20. WHOOP's Terms of Use (Last Updated August 3, 2026) and Terms of Sale (Last Updated 10/9/2025) were opened in the Latvian-locale version of whoop.com (/lv/en/), because the site redirected our browser away from the /us/en/ pages.

More detailShow less

The U.S. terms may differ, so confirm the text at checkout or in your account before relying on the quotes on this page.

  • Cancel. The Terms of Use say: "To change or cancel your Membership, go to Account settings at https://app.whoop.com or contact WHOOP at [email protected]." They add that cancelling mid-term ends the membership "as of the expiration of your then-current term" and that WHOOP "will not provide any prorated refund of any portion of the Membership Fee paid for the then-current Membership term." The WHOOP help center article Canceling Your Membership (support.whoop.com, opened 2026-10-20) says cancellation depends on the plan: "Paid upfront (12 months): Schedule your membership to cancel at the end of your commitment period. Paying monthly & within the 12-month commitment: Pay off the remaining months in full or schedule cancellation at the end of the commitment. Paying monthly & outside of the 12-month commitment: Cancel before your next billing date to avoid future charges." For a free trial the same article says: "To avoid being charged at the end of your free trial, you must initiate a return within the 1-month trial period", "Mail your return within 7 days of requesting the return label to avoid charges" and "A $110 restocking fee applies if the hardware is not returned."
    More detailShow less

The Terms of Use also say: if you did not buy the membership directly from WHOOP, use the party through which you bought it.

  • 30-day return. Section 18.1.1 of the Terms of Use says: "You have 30 days to change your mind about your Membership." It also says you may cancel and return the WHOOP Device "at your own cost" within thirty days of receipt "for a full refund of the Initial Membership Fee ... less return shipping costs", and that the 30-day return policy does not apply to a Free Trial. After 30 days the terms say there is no refund "unless we have failed to provide you with the WHOOP Device and Services". To request a return, Section 18.1.2 says you "must contact Membership Services at support.whoop.com", where a return shipping label is provided. For purchases from an Authorized Reseller, Section 18.1.1 says the device must go back "to the original point of sale for a refund, subject to the Authorized Reseller's return policy" and that WHOOP "will not at any time issue a refund for purchases made from an Authorized Reseller or any third-party retailer or any third-party marketplace."
  • Apparel and accessories. The Terms of Sale say unworn apparel and accessories bought from the store are accepted for return within thirty days of delivery unless marked final sale, and point to the Terms of Use for devices bought with a membership.
  • Price changes. The Terms of Use say WHOOP will give at least fifteen days' notice before a change to the Membership Fee takes effect, and that you can cancel before the change takes effect.
  • Disputes. Section 24 of the Terms of Use contains an agreement to arbitrate and a class action and jury trial waiver, with a 30-day opt-out. Section 24.10 says: "You have the right to opt out of the provisions of this Arbitration Agreement by sending written notice of your decision to opt out to: [email protected], within thirty (30) days after first becoming subject to this Arbitration Agreement."
    More detailShow less

The notice "must include your name and address, the email address you used to set up your Account (if you have one), and an unequivocal statement that you want to opt out". Read it before filing a claim.

  • Complaint routes outside the company. BBB accepts complaints through its profile for the company (see the complaint record). You can also file with the Federal Trade Commission at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and with your state attorney general. Confirm the current form on the agency's own site.

Keep your order number, payment confirmation, the cancellation confirmation and screenshots of the screen where you cancelled. Support contacts the company publishes are listed in the contact details on this page; the BBB-listed phone numbers are labelled as BBB-listed because they were not confirmed on a WHOOP page.

FDA warning letter about Blood Pressure Insights (July 2025)

The letter. FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health issued warning letter CMS 709755 to WHOOP, Inc. on July 14, 2025, addressed to Will Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer. It states: "FDA has learned that your firm is marketing Blood Pressure Insights (hereinafter, "BPI") in the United States without marketing clearance or approval, in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act." It says FDA reviewed whoop.com (last reviewed May 28, 2025), a WHOOP article about BPI and WHOOP's responses to earlier FDA inquiries, and concludes that BPI is a device under section 201(h) of the Act. The letter is an FDA statement of its position; it is not a court judgment.

Later development as reported. STAT News reported on June 23, 2026 under the headline "FDA drops enforcement against Whoop after it tweaks blood pressure feature" that FDA had told WHOOP it would not take further enforcement action over BPI. The FDA warning-letter page (checked 2026-10-20) did not show an FDA close-out letter, so this later step is attributed to the press report only.

What this means for a reader. The FDA letter concerns the blood pressure feature's regulatory status, not billing or cancellation.

The Justia docket (copy retrieved April 30, 2026) shows an amended complaint on March 30, 2026, a WHOOP motion to compel arbitration or, alternatively, to dismiss on February 26, 2026, and a further motion to compel arbitration or dismiss the amended complaint on April 30, 2026, with a hearing set for July 14, 2026. Chesney), was filed on August 13, 2025; Justia lists the nature of suit as "P.I.: Other" and a filing refers to a "Class Action Complaint". In the Justia copy retrieved January 22, 2026, an order extended the defendant's deadline to respond to the complaint to April 24, 2026. No later status was verified.

Other dockets. Justia and CourtListener also list intellectual-property cases in which WHOOP is plaintiff or defendant (for example Whoop, Inc. v. Finerpoint, Inc., D. Del., filed March 17, 2026, with a Lanham Act trademark cause of action, and Encelion LLC v. Whoop, Inc., D. Del., filed March 23, 2026).
