Independent profile — not affiliated with Walco Funding
Walco Funding
WALCO Funding, LLC describes itself as a payment plan provider for vehicle and home service contracts: it bills monthly installments for contracts that third-party marketers, dealers and administrators sell, and, in a BBB complaint response dated July 24, 2026, calls itself "a payment service provider" that does not sell the contracts or place the calls and mailers a consumer received. As displayed on September 30, 2026, BBB lists the business as not accredited and not rated, with a Pattern of Complaints alert, 57 complaints in three years and a 1.03 out of 5 review average. Court dockets show three closed suits naming Walco as a defendant (2021-2022) and a contract suit that Walco itself filed in Cook County on December 8, 2023 against a marketer and others; it was removed to the Northern District of Illinois on March 13, 2024 (No. 1:24-cv-02117) and was pending as of the last docket entry read, September 16, 2026. No merchant cash advance product is described in the sources checked.

See a Walco Funding charge you don't recognize? What to check
Walco Funding, LLC says it is a payment plan provider for vehicle and home service contracts. Its home page describes payment plans that let consumers "pay for their service contracts over time, at no additional cost," and its site describes its partners as marketers, dealers and administrators who sell the service contracts. If a "Walco Funding" charge appears on your bank or card statement, the company's position, as stated in its BBB response below, is that the contract was sold by a third-party marketer and not by Walco.
In a response the company gave BBB dated July 24, 2026, Walco said it "is a payment service provider" for a contract bought from "a third party marketer," that it does "not engage in sale of service contracts or any other solicitation, including outbound calling or mailers," and that the consumer "should contact the service contract marketer or administrator for any inquiries related to the service contract itself, including any refunds that may or may not be due." Consumers who filed BBB complaints describe it differently: several say they did not recognize the charge or did not understand they had enrolled in monthly payments (see the complaint record below; these are allegations).
Practical steps, using the company's own channels and government guidance:
- Ask Walco which contract the account is for. Walco lists a toll-free number, (800) 685-7096, and [email protected] in its site footer, a web form on its Contact Us page (fields: Name, Company, Street Address, Zip, Email, Phone Number, Nature of Inquiry, Message), a "Customer Login" portal, and a payment address of WALCO Payment Plans, P.O. Box 4432, Woodland Hills, CA 91365. Asking in writing for the name of the marketer or administrator, the contract and the payment schedule gives you a record.
- Walco's published instruction for cancellations and account adjustments. Walco's Partner Login page (walcofunding.com/partner-login/), under the heading "Log in to access and manage your account," says: "Please send all account adjustments and cancellation requests by email to:" followed by the address [email protected], and "For any other questions, please call (TBD)." The page does not say whether the instruction is meant for consumers or only for Walco's marketer, dealer and administrator partners, and it does not say who operates the omnisuregroup.com domain. That domain's home page, opened September 30, 2026, is titled "PayLink Direct" and describes a payment-plan provider for vehicle service contracts; this profile has not confirmed any relationship between it and Walco. Keep a copy of whatever you send.
- Contact the company that sold or administers the contract. The FTC says "Administrators make the decisions about authorizing the payment of claims under the contract," and that for a problem with an auto service contract you should contact your car dealer or the service contract company; "If that doesn't work, report it to your state attorney general" or the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
- Stopping automatic bank debits. Regulation E (12 CFR 1005.10(c)) says a consumer "may stop payment of a preauthorized electronic fund transfer from the consumer's account by notifying the financial institution orally or in writing at least three business days before the scheduled date of the transfer," and the bank may require written confirmation within 14 days of an oral notice. That rule concerns the bank transfer; it does not itself cancel a contract or decide whether a refund is owed.
- Debits you never authorized. Regulation E (12 CFR 1005.10(b)) says preauthorized electronic fund transfers from a consumer's account "may be authorized only by a writing signed or similarly authenticated by the consumer," and "The person that obtains the authorization shall provide a copy to the consumer." Under 12 CFR 1005.11 an "unauthorized electronic fund transfer" is an "error" that the consumer can report to the bank; the bank's error-resolution duty applies to a notice received "no later than 60 days after the institution sends the periodic statement" on which the error first appears. These are the rule's words: whether a particular debit was authorized depends on the facts and on the bank's investigation, and this profile has not seen a Walco authorization form.
- Text messages. Walco's SMS Terms say you can stop texts by replying STOP, and name HELP or 818-713-2212 for help with the messaging program.
- Complaint routes. BBB accepts complaints (Walco appears in the record below); the CFPB accepts complaints about consumer financial products at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or (855) 411-2372 and decides for itself whether a matter is within its scope. The FTC takes reports at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and says on that page, "We can't resolve your individual report." For unwanted calls or texts, the FCC accepts informal complaints at fcc.gov/complaints or 1-888-225-5322 (Walco's stated position, quoted above, is that the calls and mailers in the BBB complaint did not come from it). California's DFPI, which licenses premium finance companies, takes complaints online or by mail at 651 Bannon Street, Suite 300, Sacramento, CA 95811 (help with the form: 1-866-275-2677); that route is relevant only where a DFPI licensee is involved, and this profile has not confirmed a connection between Walco Funding, LLC and the DFPI-listed Walco Funding PFCA, Inc. BBB and court filings place Walco in Chicago; the Illinois Attorney General's consumer protection site has a "File A Complaint" link. Walco's privacy policy says that if you believe it has not adhered to its Statement of Privacy you should contact it at [email protected], and that it "will use commercially reasonable efforts to promptly determine and remedy the problem."
Walco's home, About, Contact, product pages, privacy policy and SMS Terms, read on September 30, 2026, did not include a cancellation or refund procedure; the Partner Login page quoted above is the only page among those checked that names a cancellation channel, and the portal it links to (pbsnetaccess.com) displayed no readable text when checked. Walco's own Customer Login page (walcofunding.com/customer-login/) says "Login to your account to make a payment, view your balance, update your account and more" and, where a phone number would be, "Questions? Please call (TBD)." Cancellation and refund terms for the underlying service contract are set by that contract, which this profile has not seen; ask the contract seller or administrator directly.
Regulators: what was and was not found
California DFPI. The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation lists a regulated entity named "Walco Funding PFCA, Inc." (Insurance Premium Finance, License ID 2697, 6200 Canoga Avenue, Suite 400, Woodland Hills, CA 91367; listed phone 818-713-2216). DFPI's May 2022 monthly bulletin lists the company under new premium finance companies with "Approved: 4/28/22," its March 2023 bulletin lists it with "Opened: 2/08/23," and its 2023 annual report names it among eight premium finance companies that opened that year; DFPI's premium finance directory still listed it when checked on September 30, 2026. Walco's home, About, Contact, Dealers, Who We Service, Marketers, Administrators and Payment Plan pages, read the same day, do not mention a license, an NMLS number or "PFCA." Its page states "DFPI has not posted any enforcement actions against this entity." This profile has not confirmed whether that company is related to Walco Funding, LLC beyond the shared name and a Woodland Hills location (Walco's own payment address is a Woodland Hills P.O. box). DFPI's directory also has a separate listing for "Omnisure Group PFCA, INC." (Insurance Premium Finance, License ID 2502, 818 West Seventh Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017, no enforcement actions posted); this profile has not confirmed any relationship between that company and Walco, nor with the omnisuregroup.com domain named on Walco's Partner Login page.
What was searched. On September 30, 2026 the CFPB enforcement actions list returned no results for "Walco," and the CFPB consumer complaint database returned no company match or narrative hit for "walco" (details in the complaint record). Web searches and a CourtListener search did not surface a federal or state enforcement action, consent order or attorney general settlement naming Walco Funding. The FTC's website search and state attorney general sites other than California DFPI could not be searched directly, so this is a statement about the sources checked, not a statement that no action exists.
BBB's alert on the Chicago profile says that on 8/18/2026 BBB "submitted a written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints" and that "As of 9/9/2026 We are awaiting the business' response." That is a BBB process, not a government action.
Company background
Who Walco Funding is. The site is walcofunding.com, footer name "WALCO Funding LLC." BBB lists Walco Funding, LLC as a limited liability company with a business-start and incorporation date of June 3, 2020, "Mr. Paul Walder, Principal," and a Chicago address (415 N La Salle Dr, Suite 700B). The Global Legal Entity Identifier record for WALCO FUNDING, LLC (LEI 2549000KSPQ811YAQK15; GLEIF API, checked September 30, 2026) shows status ACTIVE, Delaware as the jurisdiction with registration number 7379025, a legal address c/o The Corporation Trust Company in Wilmington, a headquarters address of 415 N. LaSalle, Suite 700B, Chicago, an entity creation date of April 17, 2019 (the LEI itself was first registered January 9, 2025), and a previous legal name of "DEALER REP PROGRAMS." The BBB and LEI dates come from different sources and are not reconciled here. In a state-court complaint quoted by the Northern District of Illinois on April 17, 2024, WalCo described itself as "a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business in Chicago." Walco's site says it is "Based in Chicago and Los Angeles," and claims "more than 30 years' experience in specialty finance and contract management" (a company statement this page has not verified). Two 2021 court complaints give a different Chicago street address: the Moore complaint says WalCo Funding is "located at 440 N. Wells Street, Suite 410, Chicago, Illinois 60654" and, "Based upon information and belief," has a principal place of business in Woodland Hills, California, and the Cline complaint says its principal office is at 440 N. Wells Street, Suite 410; these are plaintiffs' allegations, and Walco's current site publishes no street address. A January 5, 2021 press release issued through PR Newswire with a Woodland Hills dateline, titled "WALCO Funding Selects Input 1 as its Servicing and Technology Partner," names Paul Walder as President of WALCO Funding and quotes him as saying the company has "more than 3 decades of experience in the warranty and extended service contract financing business" and that WALCO is "our latest enterprise in this space" (company statements this page has not verified; the release does not mention the pbsnetaccess.com portal). A notice of removal filed in the Illinois case recites WalCo's discovery answer as identifying its members as two exempt trusts and Lincoln Park Capital, LLC, a Chicago entity.
What it does. Walco says it works "directly with experienced marketers, dealers, and administrators in the automotive and home service contract industries" and offers "payment plans up to 24 months." Its Dealers page says the plans carry "No credit check and zero interest" and that "Once dealer sells the contract, WALCO manages the funding, monthly payments, and account status." Its home page says the plans are offered "at no additional cost," while a separate, generic Payment Plan page on the same site says "Most payment plans include an interest rate" and describes Walco as offering "extended service contracts and breakdown coverage for vehicles, as well as home warranty and household service plans." The two pages are quoted as published; this profile has not seen an actual Walco payment plan agreement, so the terms of any particular plan are unverified.
Not a merchant cash advance lender, as far as the sources show. Searchers sometimes look for Walco as a small-business or merchant cash advance funder. Walco's own site does not describe such a product, and no source checked calls it one. Its business customers are the marketers, dealers and administrators of service contracts: the site says it provides "payment plans and strategic funding to direct marketers," and in the lawsuit Walco filed in 2023 (below), the defendants' notice of removal describes Walco as alleging it advanced funds to a marketer for each contract sold and sought repayment when purchasers cancelled. That is the defendants' summary of a breach-of-contract complaint, not a finding. This profile did not search state UCC filings, confession-of-judgment records or state MCA registrations for Walco.
Other notes. Walco's Contact page says its LinkedIn account "was hacked" and that it is "NOT hiring at this time," for anyone answering a LinkedIn job inquiry. The site links to a "Customer Login" portal hosted at pbsnetaccess.com; see the first section for what Walco's own Customer Login page says.
Complaint record: BBB, ComplaintsBoard, CFPB and USAComplaints, reported separately
All figures below are snapshots as displayed on September 30, 2026, reported separately and not combined.
- BBB (profile for Walco Funding, LLC, Chicago). Not BBB accredited. Rating shown as "Not Rated" with the reason "BBB is evaluating a pattern of complaints before issuing a rating." BBB's raw data shows the file opened October 5, 2023 and business start June 3, 2020. BBB shows 57 total complaints in the last 3 years, 56 closed in the last 12 months, and a customer-review average of 1.03 out of 5 from 30 reviews. On its complaints tab BBB displays these status counts: Answered 45, Unanswered 5, Unresolved 4, Resolved 3; and these complaint types: Service or Repair 18, Product 15, Billing 11, Order 6, Customer Service 4, Sales and Advertising 3. BBB defines "Answered" as the business having addressed the issues while the consumer did not accept the response or did not tell BBB they were satisfied, and "Unresolved" as the business responding but failing to make a good faith effort to resolve the dispute (BBB's definitions).
- BBB's "Pattern of Complaints" alert (BBB's words): consumers "allege they were misled into purchasing home or vehicle warranty/service contracts through marketing that appeared affiliated with trusted entities, and many state they did not understand they were enrolling in recurring payment programs"; they "allege unauthorized or unexpected recurring charges, difficulty canceling contracts, obtaining refunds, or reaching customer service representatives"; and "Several complaints also involve allegations that elderly or vulnerable consumers were targeted through confusing mailers, high-pressure sales tactics, or representations that existing coverage was expiring." BBB notes it does not verify what third parties submit.
- The company's position in the BBB complaints reviewed: Walco says it is only the payment service provider, did not send the calls or mailers, and directs questions about the contract and refunds to the marketer or administrator (quoted above). Several other complaints show a business response dated 07/27/2026 marked "see attachment," whose text is not displayed. In one complaint a consumer replied that the response did not resolve the matter; in another the consumer thanked Walco for closing an account and asked for the name of the third-party marketer.
- Second BBB listing. A separate BBB listing, "WALCO Funding, LLC." with the Woodland Hills P.O. box address, is also not accredited and Not Rated (file opened January 26, 2023 per BBB data). It carries a BBB alert saying that on November 8, 2023 BBB requested business information and "did not receive a response." Its page has a "View Headquarters" link to the Chicago profile, and its complaints tab displays the same 57 and 56 figures as the Chicago listing, so they are not added together.
- ComplaintsBoard. Rating 1.4 from 1 review and 9 complaints, page updated Sep 17, 2026, with a "Claim Your Business" prompt displayed.
- CFPB database. A company lookup for "walco," "walco funding" and "WALCO Payment Plans" returned no match on September 30, 2026, and a full-text search for "walco" returned 0 complaints.
- Trustpilot. The Trustpilot page for walcofunding.com returned "page not found" and a search for "walco funding" did not list Walco on the first page of results on September 30, 2026.
- USAComplaints (this site). No approved complaints about Walco Funding are published on this site as of September 30, 2026, so no complaint themes are shown.
Lawsuits naming Walco Funding
Court dockets found on CourtListener and Justia list Walco Funding as a party in four cases in federal court (one begun in an Arkansas state court and removed). Docket text was read on September 30, 2026; complaints are allegations, and the dismissal terms in the closed cases are not public on the dockets.
- Moore v. Legion Auto Protection Services, WalCo Funding, LLC and CarGuard Administration, Inc. (C.D. Cal., No. 5:21-cv-01192, filed July 16, 2021). A proposed class action alleging unwanted telemarketing calls about vehicle service contracts (Telephone Consumer Protection Act, including a count against WalCo Funding) and repeated bank debits without required authorization (Electronic Fund Transfer Act, including a count against WalCo Funding). The complaint described WalCo as "a payment plan provider for vehicle services contracts" issued by CarGuard and sold by Legion. Defendant CarGuard Administration filed a notice of tentative settlement on February 23, 2023; on February 24, 2023 the court placed the action in inactive status; a joint stipulation was filed March 27, 2023, and on March 28, 2023 the court granted it: dismissed with prejudice as to the individual plaintiff, without prejudice as to the class claims, each party bearing its own fees and costs.
- Hunsinger v. Walco Funding LLC (N.D. Tex., No. 3:21-cv-01282, filed June 4, 2021; other defendants were also named). On July 2, 2021 the court administratively closed the case because the plaintiff had filed a notice of settlement. On July 19, 2021 the court construed the plaintiff's motion to dismiss with prejudice as "a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice under Rule 41(a)(1)" and directed the clerk to terminate the action. The claims and the settlement terms are not stated in the docket text available without PACER.
- Cline v. Walco Funding, LLC. A class action filed November 30, 2021 in Ashley County (Arkansas) Circuit Court against Walco alone, alleging repeated debits without written authorization (Electronic Fund Transfer Act), Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act violations and conversion, tied to a vehicle service contract sold by another company. Walco removed it to the Western District of Arkansas (No. 1:22-cv-01021) on April 6, 2022 and moved to dismiss and compel arbitration on April 27, 2022. A stipulation of dismissal with prejudice was filed September 29, 2022, and the court entered an order of dismissal with prejudice on October 17, 2022.
- WalCo Funding LLC v. DriveSmart Auto Care, Inc., Nationwide Vehicle Assurance Corp. d/b/a Motor Vehicle Assurance, and Daniel J. Rodd (N.D. Ill., No. 1:24-cv-02117). Here Walco is the plaintiff. It sued in Cook County on December 8, 2023; the defendants removed the case on March 13, 2024, and the court denied Walco's motion to remand on April 17, 2024. The defendants' notice of removal summarizes the complaint as a breach-of-contract claim for more than $1,462,851.24 over advanced funds not refunded after purchasers cancelled contracts. The docket shows an answer (April 26, 2024), a protective order (September 17, 2024) and repeated extensions of the discovery schedule; the last docket entries read on September 30, 2026 are a request to extend the time to complete discovery (September 15, 2026) and an order on it (September 16, 2026). The case was pending as of that last entry; no ruling on the merits appears on the docket.
Is Walco Funding Legitimate?
Walco Funding, LLC is an identifiable business: a limited liability company that BBB lists as started on June 3, 2020 (the LEI registry shows an entity creation date of April 17, 2019), with a website, a toll-free number, a Chicago address on BBB, a Woodland Hills payment address and, in its own court filings, a description as a Delaware LLC based in Chicago. It has appeared in court as both defendant (2021-2022) and plaintiff (2023 to date). California's DFPI lists a similarly named premium finance company, Walco Funding PFCA, Inc., with no enforcement actions posted; the link between the two is unconfirmed.
The unresolved questions are about the service-contract sales that Walco's payment plans finance. BBB lists the business as not accredited and not rated, with a "Pattern of Complaints" alert built from consumer allegations, and Walco's stated position, in a July 24, 2026 BBB response, is that it is "a payment service provider" ("merely the payment processor") that does not sell contracts or place the calls and mailers. This page assigns no rating or verdict of its own; the sources above are reported so readers can weigh them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Walco Funding?
Walco Funding, LLC says on its home page that it is "the trusted payment plan provider for vehicle and home service contracts," letting consumers "pay for their service contracts over time." According to the company, the contracts themselves are sold by its marketer, dealer and administrator partners. BBB lists the business as an LLC with a business-start date of June 3, 2020, the LEI registry shows an entity creation date of April 17, 2019, and its site says it is based in Chicago and Los Angeles.
Is Walco Funding a merchant cash advance or small-business lender?
Walco's own site describes payment plans for vehicle and home service contracts, not merchant cash advances, and no source checked on September 30, 2026 calls it an MCA lender. Its business customers are service-contract marketers, dealers and administrators; a lawsuit Walco filed in 2023 is described by the defendants as involving funds advanced to a marketer per contract sold. This profile did not search UCC filings, confession-of-judgment records or state MCA registrations for Walco.
Why is Walco Funding charging my bank account or card?
According to Walco, it bills installments for a service contract that a third-party marketer, dealer or administrator sold, and in a July 24, 2026 BBB response it told one complainant to contact the marketer or administrator about the contract itself. BBB complainants describe not recognizing the charge or not realizing the payments would continue monthly. To identify the contract, ask Walco in writing ([email protected] or (800) 685-7096) for the seller, the contract and the payment schedule.
How do I cancel a Walco Funding payment plan or the contract behind it?
Walco's Partner Login page says: "Please send all account adjustments and cancellation requests by email to:" [email protected], and does not say whether it is meant for consumers or who operates that domain. Walco's home, About, Contact, product pages, privacy policy and SMS Terms, read on September 30, 2026, did not include a cancellation or refund procedure. In a July 24, 2026 BBB response Walco said inquiries about the contract itself, "including any refunds that may or may not be due," should go to the marketer or administrator. The FTC advises contacting the service contract company and, if that fails, the state attorney general or ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Cancellation and refund terms depend on the contract itself, which this profile has not seen. Keep dates, amounts and copies of anything you send.
How can I stop automatic debits to Walco Funding?
Regulation E says a consumer "may stop payment of a preauthorized electronic fund transfer from the consumer's account by notifying the financial institution orally or in writing at least three business days before the scheduled date of the transfer," and the bank may require written confirmation within 14 days of an oral notice. This concerns the bank transfer only; it does not by itself cancel the contract or determine a refund. For a debit you say you never authorized, the same regulation says preauthorized transfers "may be authorized only by a writing signed or similarly authenticated by the consumer," and an "unauthorized electronic fund transfer" is an "error" you can report to your bank, generally within 60 days of the statement that first shows it (12 CFR 1005.10(b), 1005.11).
Has Walco Funding been sued?
CourtListener dockets show Walco Funding as a defendant in three cases: Moore (C.D. Cal., filed 2021; dismissed March 28, 2023 after a notice of tentative settlement), Hunsinger (N.D. Tex., filed June 2021; administratively closed July 2, 2021 after a notice of settlement, then dismissed with prejudice on the plaintiff's voluntary dismissal, order of July 19, 2021) and Cline (Arkansas state court, removed to W.D. Ark. in 2022; dismissed with prejudice October 17, 2022). Terms of the dismissals are not on the dockets. Walco is also the plaintiff in a pending contract suit against DriveSmart Auto Care, Inc. and others in N.D. Ill. (No. 1:24-cv-02117).
What does BBB show for Walco Funding?
As displayed on September 30, 2026, BBB's Chicago profile for Walco Funding, LLC is not accredited and shows "Not Rated" because BBB "is evaluating a pattern of complaints," with 57 complaints in the last 3 years, 56 closed in the last 12 months, and 1.03 out of 5 from 30 customer reviews. BBB says it does not verify what third parties submit. Walco's stated position is that it is a payment service provider and not the seller of the contracts.
Has a regulator taken action against Walco Funding?
In the sources checked on September 30, 2026, a regulator action naming Walco Funding was not identified: the CFPB enforcement actions list returned no results for "Walco," California DFPI's page for Walco Funding PFCA, Inc. says it has posted no enforcement actions, and web and CourtListener searches did not surface one. The FTC website search and most state attorney general sites could not be searched directly.
Where can I report a problem with Walco Funding or a service contract?
The FTC says to contact your car dealer or the service contract company and, if that does not work, report it to your state attorney general or the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. BBB accepts complaints about Walco, and the CFPB takes complaints about consumer financial products at consumerfinance.gov/complaint or (855) 411-2372. The FCC takes informal complaints about unwanted calls and texts at fcc.gov/complaints or 1-888-225-5322, and California's DFPI takes complaints about its licensees (1-866-275-2677 for help with the form), though this profile has not confirmed that DFPI's Walco Funding PFCA, Inc. is connected to Walco Funding, LLC. Contact your bank or card issuer about disputing a specific charge.
