Uniqlo returns, refunds, exchanges and contacts: what the company's own pages say (checked October 12, 2026)
The Uniqlo customer service pages, terms, BBB profile and Trustpilot page were opened on October 12, 2026. What follows is taken from Uniqlo's own pages, quoted or closely paraphrased, and is not a prediction of how any request will be decided.
Returns of online orders. The Online Orders policy page says items 'must be returned within 30 days from the original Shipped Date (not the delivery date)' and must be 'unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and have all original tags attached'. The Return & Exchange overview page carries the note 'Online orders must be returned by mail, as stores are unable to process online returns', and says purchases made with the Pay-At-Store option can only be returned to the store of the original purchase. Returns go by mail with a prepaid label or QR code; the overview page lists FedEx as the carrier ('Send it back with FedEx'), and the steps run from Purchase History, choose item and reason, review, choose return method, generate the label. The How to Return page says 'A $7 return label fee (plus applicable state taxes) will be automatically deducted from your refund total', and that several orders in one package need one label per order but only one $7 fee.
What cannot be returned. The policy lists used or washed products, items that are scratched, damaged, dirtied or soiled, hemmed or altered products, 'Items that were marked as final sale', items missing accessories, undergarments including underwear and bras, used clothing sold at RE.UNIQLO and items that have undergone repair services.
Exchanges. Online exchanges are accepted within 30 days of the shipment date for 'the same product in a different color or size'; the page says 'Credit Card is the only payment method available for Exchange orders' and that a '$7 Return Shipping Fee (plus applicable taxes in select states)' is charged.
When the refund arrives. The Refund page says that once the return arrives and is inspected the refund is processed 'within 5-7 calendar days', followed by an email confirmation, and that funds can take a further 3-7 business days to appear depending on the bank; it gives 3-5 business days for cards, 24 hours for PayPal and 5-7 business days for Klarna after the confirmation email. The How to Return page instead says to 'allow 7-10 business days' for the warehouse to inspect and process the return. The Refund page also says 'A $7.00 fee per return request will be deducted from your refund. Unless the return is due to our error, this cost is borne by the customer.', that 'Return Shipping fees are non-refundable', that during peak periods such as Christmas and New Year holidays 'refund processing may take longer than usual', and tells customers to keep a proof of return in the form of a receipt from FedEx. If a refund has not arrived within the stated time, the page says to provide the order number and contact Uniqlo Customer Service.
Price adjustments. The Online Price Adjustment Policy page says 'online orders are not eligible for price adjustments due to system limitations' and offers return of the item for a refund of the price paid, with return shipping fees applied; it adds that some discounted prices are only available to customers registered on UNIQLO.COM or the UNIQLO App. For in-store purchases it says stores can process a price adjustment on presentation of a receipt.
Store purchases. The overview page gives 30 days from the date of purchase for in-store orders, with paper or e-receipts, and says in-store purchases can only be exchanged or returned in-store, and that products purchased online can be exchanged for a different size or color in-store. The Refund page links an 'Exchange and Return | Return to Store by Mail' article, and the two pages are presented here side by side without choosing between them; a customer with an in-store purchase should confirm the route with Uniqlo Customer Service before mailing it.
Contacting Uniqlo. The customer service site lists 'Live Chat Support is available Mon-Sun, 9am-9pm ET'. The website terms name [email protected] for questions and the privacy policy names [email protected]. A phone number for (877) 486-4785 is listed by BBB; the customer service pages opened did not display a phone number.
If the issue is not resolved. Keep the order number, shipping and return tracking, the return receipt from the carrier, photos and copies of chat or email exchanges. A card issuer or PayPal can be asked about their own dispute options. A complaint can also be filed with BBB, the FTC (reportfraud.ftc.gov) or the attorney general of the consumer's state. For a product that was recalled, the CPSC accepts reports of problems with a recall remedy.
Who operates Uniqlo in the U.S.: UNIQLO USA LLC, its group and official channels
The Uniqlo U.S. website terms of use are an agreement between the user and UNIQLO USA LLC (the terms say 'This Agreement is between you ("you" or "user") and UNIQLO USA LLC ("UNIQLO")') and show 'Last Updated: April 28, 2026'; they are governed by New York law, with 'exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts encompassing New York County, New York'. The privacy policy (last updated April 29, 2026) gives UNIQLO USA LLC, 450 West 14th Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10014 as its mailing address. BBB lists 'Uniqlo USA LLC' as a limited liability company with 'Alternate Names: Uniqlo', headquarters at 548 Broadway Fl 3, New York, and a business-started date of January 1, 2006, a BBB file-opened date of June 30, 2010 and an incorporated date of June 12, 2012 (raw BBB profile data). Court filings by and against the company describe it as a Delaware limited liability company.
Group. The company's About page says UNIQLO was 'originally founded in Yamaguchi, Japan in 1949 as a textiles manufacturer' and refers to 'our parent company, Fast Retailing'; the site footer lists GU, Theory and Helmut Lang as group companies, and its copyright line names UNIQLO Co., Ltd. In a 2013 CPSC recall the importers are named as 'Fast Retailing USA, Inc., of New York, N.Y. and UNIQLO USA LLC, of New York, N.Y.', and a 2026 class action docket names both as defendants. This page covers the U.S. operator and its U.S. website and stores, not UNIQLO operations in other countries.
Official channels. The company's notice about impostors says the official U.S. address is 'www.uniqlo.com/us/en/' and describes characteristics it associates with imitation sites, including that the 'Contact phone number is not listed' and 'The prices of all products are extremely low'; it asks anyone who finds a suspicious site or email to use the Contact Us page. Orders placed on a site that is not on the official address are not covered by the policies on this page.
Regulator records: CPSC children's pajamas recall (2013) and what was checked
CPSC recall 13-140 (March 14, 2013). The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall notice 'UNIQLO Recalls Children's Pajamas Due to Violation of Federal Flammability Standards' concerned one-piece micro fleece footed pajamas in infant sizes 9M to 12M with 'UNIQLO BABY' on the neck label. CPSC's hazard statement: 'The pajamas fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.' It lists about 700 units, sold at UNIQLO New York stores (except SoHo), the Garden State Plaza store in Paramus, N.J. and uniqlo.com from September 2012 through November 2012 for about $15, 'Incidents/Injuries: None reported', and names the importers as Fast Retailing USA, Inc. and UNIQLO USA LLC. The remedy: 'Consumers should immediately take the recalled pajamas away from children and return them to any UNIQLO store for a full refund.' This is a 2013 recall of a specific product; it does not concern products currently sold.
Scope of this check. On October 12, 2026 the CPSC recall database was queried by title and by retailer name 'uniqlo' and returned this single recall; the CPSC product safety warnings list and SaferProducts.gov consumer incident reports were not searched. The California Attorney General's data breach notification list, searched for 'uniqlo' on October 12, 2026, showed 'There are currently no published reported breaches'. No FTC, CFPB or state attorney general enforcement action against UNIQLO USA LLC was identified in the sources checked; those agencies' databases were not exhaustively searched.

The BBB profile for Uniqlo USA LLC (headquarters, New York, NY) states that the business is not BBB Accredited and shows a BBB rating of D-, with the stated reason 'Failure to respond to 36 complaint(s) filed against business'. The complaints tab shows '40 total complaints in the last 3 years' and '12 complaints filed in the last 12 months'. The consumer texts BBB displays describe, among other things, defective zippers and seams with refund requests, returned parcels not scanned or partly refunded, and an exchange paid by credit card; they are consumers' allegations and BBB notes it does not verify them. The reviews tab shows an average of '1 /5 stars' across 12 customer reviews; one review, dated January 31, 2026, says 'The items I purchased dropped in price immediately after my order was placed' and objects to the online no-price-adjustment policy, which is that reviewer's account. BBB's note says its profile includes complaints for headquarters and corporate-owned locations.
Trustpilot, as displayed on October 12, 2026. The Trustpilot page for www.uniqlo.com shows 4,698 reviews and a displayed score of 1.6, labels the profile 'Unclaimed profile' and carries the notice 'This company hasn't invited their customers, so reviews may not be representative'. BBB, Trustpilot and this site's archive are separate pools and are not combined.

The matters below are those filed since 2024 among them; older dockets in the same results (2017 to 2023) were not reviewed and are not described here. Most of the matters below are allegations; the company's pleadings and the courts' orders state what has been decided. The complaints themselves are available for only some of these cases.
Consumer class actions. Trinh v. Uniqlo USA LLC and Fast Retailing USA, Inc. was filed in the Central District of California on April 30, 2026 (2:26-cv-04712). Uniqlo USA LLC and Fast Retailing USA, Inc. moved to transfer the case and to dismiss it on July 7, 2026. After a hearing on October 5, 2026, the court adopted its October 2 tentative ruling as final, granted the transfer to the Southern District of New York under 28 U.S.C. 1404(a) and left the motion to dismiss to the transferee court; the New York docket (1:26-cv-08829-RA) opened on October 6, 2026, and an order dated October 7, 2026 sets an initial conference for November 6, 2026. CourtListener lists the cause as 'Diversity-Fraud' and the nature of suit as '370 Other Fraud'; the complaint was not among the documents available, so its specific claims are not stated here. Tao v. Uniqlo, USA LLC was filed on July 24, 2024 in New York Supreme Court, New York County (Index 653736/2024) as a putative class action for California account holders alleging violations of California Civil Code Section 1670.8(a), according to Uniqlo's notice of removal; Uniqlo removed it to the Southern District of New York (1:24-cv-06781) under the Class Action Fairness Act and stated that it 'denies that Plaintiff or the putative class have been harmed in any way'. On July 10, 2025 the court granted the plaintiff's motion to remand to state court and denied the motion to dismiss as moot; the state court's later handling was not checked.
Website and store accessibility suits. The dockets include Hernandez v. Uniqlo USA, LLC (E.D.N.Y. 1:24-cv-03565, filed May 16, 2024), a putative class action alleging that www.uniqlo.com is not accessible to blind and visually impaired users under the Americans with Disabilities Act; a notice of settlement was filed on August 5, 2024 (its terms are not on the public docket), followed by a notice of voluntary dismissal on September 12, 2024 and an order dismissing the case on September 30, 2024; Dalton v. Minn. 0:26-cv-02036, filed March 25, 2026), a putative class action making a similar website-accessibility claim under the ADA and the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which remained open on the docket checked October 12, 2026, with orders extending the time to answer (April 22 and May 21, 2026) and later orders responding to letters entered on June 22 and July 24, 2026 whose content was not checked; Gazonni v. A voluntary dismissal is not a finding on the merits.
Other matters. Welcome v. Uniqlo USA Ltd. (S.D.N.Y. 1:25-cv-03567, filed April 29, 2025) was a class and collective wage-and-hour complaint brought by a former New York retail employee; the plaintiff filed a Rule 41(a) notice of discontinuance, entered by Judge Abrams on April 7, 2026, which states it is without prejudice and that 'A settlement has not been reached on this matter, nor has Defendant filed an answer'. Espinoza v. Uniqlo USA, LLC (S.D. Fla. 1:24-cv-21703) was filed on May 2, 2024; the docket shows it terminated on May 31, 2024 after an 'Administrative Order', and the reason is not stated in the docket text. The complaint was not opened, so its subject is not described. Uniqlo USA LLC v. United States (Court of International Trade, 1:26-cv-00718, filed January 16, 2026) was brought by the company as plaintiff, and its subject was not verified; the docket shows the case was stayed on January 20, 2026 under the court's Administrative Order 25-02.
Contract terms. The website terms contain a class action waiver: 'any proceeding in court will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative action', with the exception that 'the parties retain the right to participate in a class-wide settlement'; they also contain a jury trial waiver and a liability limit of '$500.00' in connection with the site. Whether and how these terms apply to a given dispute is a matter for the courts; the terms do not mention arbitration.

The company's own policies set a 30-day return window, a $7 return fee on online returns and no price adjustments on online orders; the BBB and Trustpilot records show consumers disputing refunds, defect rejections and responsiveness.
