Sunbit payments, disputes, credit reporting and contacting Sunbit: what its own pages say (checked October 14, 2026)
This site's archive had no approved posts naming Sunbit as the company complained about on October 14, 2026, so this page relies on Sunbit's own pages, regulators' databases and third-party profiles, each dated. The routes below come from Sunbit's FAQ and Terms.
Contact. Sunbit's Contact us page gives the phone number 855-678-6248 and online chat; its FAQ says the same number and chat in the Sunbit mobile app can be used for loan and Sunbit Credit Card questions.
Loan agreement and account. The FAQ says a copy of the loan agreement is attached to the welcome email and can be accessed online at mysunbit.com or through the app. Sunbit's pages state that the financing is made by Transportation Alliance Bank, Inc. dba TAB Bank, and that Sunbit Now, LLC is not the lender.
Due dates, extensions, hardship. The FAQ says: “If you need to change the recurring monthly due date for your loan or simply request an extension for a specific payment, please contact our Customer Care team at 855-678-6248 or chat with us on the Sunbit mobile app,” and adds that hardship options are available for extenuating circumstances.
Paying early and changing terms. The FAQ says a loan can be paid off sooner without any penalty, but the term length cannot be extended beyond what was originally chosen.
Returns and cancellations at the merchant. The FAQ says that if a loan needs to be canceled or adjusted, the merchant must notify Sunbit of the new amount; once notified, the purchase is adjusted or canceled and the original payment method on file is reimbursed for payments already made.
Payments by mail. Sunbit accepts mailed checks or money orders at SUNBIT PAYMENTS, PO BOX 841238, LOS ANGELES, CA 90084-1238, with the name and loan agreement number in the memo.
Credit checks and reporting. The FAQ says a soft credit check is run when applying for a loan and that this does not affect the credit score, but that accepting a loan may impact the score; to the question whether Sunbit reports to the credit bureaus it answers that information about the account is reported to a major credit bureau. To dispute an item on a credit report, the consumer-rights route is the credit bureau and the furnisher under the Fair Credit Reporting Act; see the CFPB's page on disputing errors on credit reports.
Sunbit Card account: written notices. The Sunbit Card Agreement PDF on sunbit.com (marked “As of: 12/31/2024”) says that a possible error on a statement is to be reported in writing to “TAB Bank c/o Sunbit, PO Box 24010, Los Angeles, CA 90024”, with name, account number, dollar amount and a description, within 60 days after the error appeared on the statement. The same agreement gives that address for notice of lost, stolen or unauthorized card use and for an identity theft report and affidavit, and states that the cardholder “will not be liable for any unauthorized use that occurs after we receive your notice.” The terms of the agreement for the particular account govern, and that PDF is a single dated version.
Outside complaints. A complaint can be filed with the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov/complaint, and BBB accepts complaints about Sunbit, Inc.; the counts for both are in the complaint-record section.
Regulator actions involving Sunbit (sources checked October 14, 2026)
No CFPB enforcement action naming Sunbit was returned by a title search of the CFPB's enforcement-actions page for “sunbit” on October 14, 2026 (the page displayed “Sorry, there were no results based on your filter selections”). That is a result limited to that search on that date. Searches of FTC and state regulator databases other than that were not completed, so this page makes no statement about them.
Sunbit's lending and card products are described on its own pages as made or issued by Transportation Alliance Bank, Inc. dba TAB Bank; Sunbit's footer lists NMLS ID 1760582 for Sunbit Now, LLC and three NMLS compliance-manager identifiers.
Sunbit: who runs it, how the financing works and its bank partner
Sunbit, Inc. is the contracting party named in Sunbit's Terms of Use (last updated June 17, 2026) and is headquartered at 10940 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 1850, Los Angeles, CA 90024 according to its site footer and BBB. Sunbit's careers page says the company was founded in 2016 (the company's statement); BBB's page data lists the business as incorporated December 15, 2015 and with a business start of April 10, 2018, as information provided by the business.
Sunbit's About page says it builds financial technology for everyday expenses and offers a no-fee credit card and “a point-of-sale lending option available at over 30,000 service locations” (the company's own figure). Its merchant pages name dentistry, auto service, healthcare, veterinary and optical as industries served, so many customers first meet Sunbit at a dentist, repair shop or other service provider's counter.
Who lends. Sunbit's pages state that financing is made by Transportation Alliance Bank, Inc. dba TAB Bank, which determines qualifications for and terms of credit, and that the Sunbit Card is issued by TAB Bank under a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Sunbit's footer says Sunbit Now, LLC is not the lender.
Fees. For the Sunbit Credit Card, the FAQ says there are no late-payment, early-payment, origination or penalty fees and no annual, application or processing fee, only interest. The interest on a loan is disclosed in the loan offer and is included in the loan total, per the FAQ.
Terms and arbitration. The Sunbit Terms of Use contain an agreement to arbitrate disputes and a class-action waiver, with an opt-out by written letter within thirty calendar days of first agreeing to the Terms. A loan or card agreement may contain its own dispute terms; the agreement received from the lender controls for that account. The Sunbit Card Agreement PDF (marked “As of: 12/31/2024”) has its own arbitration provision that answers “Can you opt out of this Provision?” with “Yes, within 60 days”, by certified mail, return receipt requested, to “TAB Bank c/o Sunbit, PO Box 24010, Los Angeles, CA 90024 ... Attn. Legal”, so the opt-out window differs between the website Terms and the card agreement as these documents read.
Complaint record: BBB, CFPB database and Trustpilot (as displayed October 14, 2026)
These figures come from different sources, are measured differently and are not added together.
BBB. The BBB profile for Sunbit, Inc., Los Angeles, displayed on October 14, 2026: rating A+, BBB Accredited Business (accredited 2020-05-11 in BBB's page data); 389 total complaints in the last 3 years and 157 filed in the last 12 months; customer reviews “Average of 192 Customer Reviews” at 3.7 out of 5.
CFPB Consumer Complaint Database. Under the company name “Sunbit, Inc.” the database showed 985 complaints in total (first received June 3, 2021; latest October 6, 2026), of which 458 were received in the 12 months to October 14, 2026. By product label as displayed: credit reporting or other personal consumer reports 352; debt collection 327; credit card 125; payday loan, title loan, personal loan or advance loan 80; credit reporting, credit repair services or other personal consumer reports 57; credit card or prepaid card 16; payday loan, title loan or personal loan 10; vehicle loan or lease 9; other labels 9 or fewer. The most frequent issue labels were incorrect information on your report (254), attempts to collect debt not owed (133), took or threatened to take negative or legal action (105) and improper use of your report (84). Company responses displayed: closed with explanation 983, in progress 2; timely response yes 973, no 12. CFPB does not verify the facts in these complaints, and a debt-collection label means the consumer used that product category, not that CFPB found a violation.
Trustpilot. The page for sunbit.com displayed 4.7 out of 5 from 4,009 reviews, a claimed profile (since August 2021) on a paid Trustpilot subscription, and a reply rate of 98% to negative reviews.
Sunbit's own site also has a Customer Reviews page. Third-party profiles differ widely in how they collect reviews, so none of these figures is a measure of the company as a whole.
Court cases and arbitration terms
A search of the CourtListener RECAP archive for case names containing “Sunbit” on October 14, 2026 returned 16 docket entries. By court type: nine in U.S. district courts (E.D. Cal. Moreno v. Sunbit Inc., filed July 31, 2026, with a companion miscellaneous docket; M.D. Fla. Sunbit, Inc. v. Keil, filed April 20, 2026, in which Sunbit is the first-named party; C.D. Cal. LaBord v. Sunbit, Inc., filed October 1, 2025; C.D. Cal. Maravilla v. Sunbit, Inc., filed March 5, 2025, terminated July 22, 2025; E.D. Va. Singletary v. Sunbit Now LLC, filed December 10, 2024, terminated August 22, 2025; C.D. Cal. Mansfield v. Sunbit, Inc., filed October 11, 2024, terminated March 5, 2025; W.D. Tex. Alexander v. Sunbit, Inc., filed January 22, 2024, terminated May 21, 2024; N.D. Ga. Walker v. Sunbit Now, LLC, filed September 7, 2023, terminated November 3, 2023); one in the Fourth Circuit (Singletary v. Sunbit Now LLC, No. 25-2147); and six in bankruptcy courts (Lay v. Sunbit Now, LLC, N.D. Ala.; Meininger v. Sunbit Now, LLC, an adversary proceeding in M.D. Fla.; Dempsey v. Sunbit, Inc., N.D. Ala., terminated September 11, 2023; Fletcher v. Sunbit, N.D. Ala., terminated January 6, 2023; and two S.D. Tex. dockets captioned “Sunbit Financial”, whose search results do not state any link to Sunbit, Inc.).
The search results give captions, courts, filing dates and termination dates only. This review did not open each docket, so this page does not state the claims, the outcomes or whether any case is a class action; a termination date means only that the docket was closed. Searches of other court systems and of arbitration records were not performed, so this is not a complete litigation history.
Sunbit's Terms contain an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver; see the company-background section for the opt-out window.
