Quick Quack Car Wash
Quick Quack Car Wash is an exterior-only express car-wash chain from the Sacramento area (it says it is headquartered in Rocklin, California; BBB files it under Roseville), founded in 2004 and now operating more than 365 locations in nine states. It sells per-vehicle monthly "Unlimited" memberships that renew automatically, and KKR took a significant minority stake in 2024 alongside the founders and Seidler Equity Partners.
It is a real company, BBB-accredited since August 2025 with an A rating, and its complaint record is large: as of September 27, 2026 BBB lists 375 complaints in three years (159 closed in the last 12 months) and a 1.26/5 review average, and 71% of its Trustpilot reviews are one star. Most recent BBB complaints describe damage to vehicles inside the wash and the handling of damage claims; billing and cancellation complaints are fewer. USAComplaints has no complaints about it yet.

What to do if Quick Quack damaged your car or keeps charging you
If your car was damaged
- Report the damage to staff at the location (before you leave if you can) and ask for an incident report and claim number — Quick Quack's own BBB replies reference claim numbers like "IAD0034414" (BBB profile).
- As general practice (not a company rule), photograph the damage and your vehicle before driving away, and keep your wash receipt and membership records.
- Follow up through the Customer Care number the company publishes, 888-772-2792 (Customer Care hours 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM Pacific per the contact page), or the email named in its Terms, [email protected] (Terms §5.2), and reference your claim number; the company does not publish a separate damage-claims contact.
- If the company's claims team does not resolve it, file a complaint with the BBB citing the claim number.
- Quick Quack's Terms require binding arbitration and waive class actions, but they explicitly carve out small claims court (Terms §9.3) — that option stays available even on an Autopay membership.
If you were charged unexpectedly
An Autopay membership "automatically renews each month" until you cancel it; a Day Pass does not renew (Terms §1.3).
- Cancel in the myQQ app: Account → Settings → Cancel Your Membership, or by calling 888-772-2792 (FAQ).
- The Terms separately state cancellation notice should be given "at least ten (10) days prior to the renewal date," and a $5 cancellation fee can apply within 45 days of your initial purchase (Terms §5.2).
- Payments are described as non-refundable under the Terms, though the company "may, in its sole discretion" issue one (Terms §3.2(c)).
- The Terms state no third party has authority to cancel on your behalf, so a third-party membership-cancellation service will not work (Terms §5.2).
- If Quick Quack will not reverse a charge you believe is wrong, a card chargeback through your bank is a last resort; whether it is available depends on your card issuer's rules and deadlines.
The Terms also include a binding arbitration clause and class-action waiver; you can opt out only by mailing written notice to 1380 Lead Hill Blvd #260, Roseville, CA 95661 within 30 days of the Terms' "Effective Date" (the earlier of when you accepted them or first used the service) (Terms §9.3).
What the Terms say about damage and money
Two clauses matter if you plan to claim: the Terms say you use the wash "at your own discretion and risk" (§6.2), and they cap the company's liability for "any damages of any kind arising out of ... the Services" at three times your most recent payment or $100, whichever is greater (§7) (Terms of Service). A cap in a contract does not decide a claim by itself, but it is what the company will point to. BBB replies show the company decides claims on its own camera footage and photos, and that it applies the policy posted at the wash entrance: it says it is "only responsible for items that are factory-installed, secured, undamaged, and on vehicles that are less than five years old", and that antennas must be removed or retracted; one complainant says they were refused a look at the footage (BBB complaints).
For California members who signed up online, state law (Business & Professions Code §17602(d)) requires that an automatic-renewal service can be terminated "exclusively online, at will, and without engaging any further steps that obstruct or delay" cancellation, and §17602(c) requires a toll-free number, email or other easy cancellation mechanism (leginfo.legislature.ca.gov). The company's plans page itself lists "Cancel Anytime" as a member perk (plans page).
What complaints about Quick Quack Car Wash describe
On its Better Business Bureau profile (accessed September 27, 2026), Quick Quack shows 375 complaints in the last 3 years, 159 closed in the last 12 months, and a customer-review score of 1.26 out of 5 from 153 reviews (BBB profile).
Of the 10 most recent BBB complaints, 9 describe vehicle damage inside the wash: a license plate and frame torn off (a company reply cites claim no. "IAD0034414," Sept 7, 2026), rear window wiper damage, a front bumper "completely torn off," scratches and paint damage on a new vehicle, and a tire problem after an employee's direction at the entrance. One complainant wrote of "7 Months for a damaged vehicle resolution" after damage in February 2026 (status: Resolved); another said the company "agreed to pay for the repairs in writing" and then stopped returning calls (BBB profile). Membership billing and cancellation complaints also appear on the file; in the most recent pages they are far fewer than damage claims (this is our reading of the visible complaints, not a BBB statistic).
On Trustpilot, 71% of 105 reviews are one-star (several recent reviews are labelled as merged in from another profile), and Trustpilot's own AI summary of the reviews states that reviewers "frequently reported severe vehicle damage during the wash process and strongly criticized management for denying any responsibility" (Trustpilot, accessed September 27, 2026). ComplaintsBoard lists 41 complaints and 23 reviews; its blended "reputation rating" is 1.9, while the review average alone is 1.2 out of 5 (ComplaintsBoard, updated August 25, 2026). USAComplaints has zero complaints on file about Quick Quack as of this writing.
Billing complaints are fewer but follow a pattern of their own: people who say they paid for a single wash and were billed for a membership the next month, a trial that turned into a monthly auto-renewal, difficulty cancelling online, and license-plate-recognition mix-ups that charged the wrong car or listed extra vehicles on one account. One complainant wrote that "the lack of communication has been far more frustrating than the original issue" after filing a damage claim (BBB complaints, ComplaintsBoard).
Is Quick Quack Car Wash Legitimate?
Quick Quack is a real and fast-growing chain. The company says its founding partners came together in 2004 and opened a first location in Sacramento, California, and that in 2008 it doubled in size by acquiring a small chain in northwest Texas and adopted the "Quick Quack" name across all 13 locations (About page). Wikipedia adds that the business first traded as Splash & Dash Car Wash and that the acquired chain was based in Amarillo (Wikipedia). The company now says it operates "more than 365" locations across nine states (About page).
In June 2024, investment funds managed by KKR made "a significant minority investment" in the company, with founders and longtime partner Seidler Equity Partners keeping "meaningful stakes" (International Carwash Association). A figure of an $850 million KKR stake has been reported by Reuters via Yahoo Finance, but is not confirmed in Quick Quack's own release (Yahoo Finance). In October 2025, Quick Quack acquired 13 Utah locations from Whistle Express Car Wash's Take 5 Car Wash brand, expanding its Utah footprint to "over 70 locations" (International Carwash Association).
Quick Quack is BBB accredited since August 2025 with an A rating, alongside the 375 complaints noted above (BBB profile). In court records, a consumer business-tort suit (Curran v. Quick Quack Car Wash Holdings, LLC) was filed in 2020 and removed to federal court, where the plaintiff voluntarily dismissed it five days later; what the suit alleged is not in the free public record — a filing, not a finding. The other cases located in federal dockets are employment matters brought by workers against the operating entities (2014, 2020 and 2025); in the 2020 Texas case a magistrate judge recommended in September 2021 that the claims go to arbitration, and the case ended in a stipulated dismissal with prejudice in March 2022; the 2025 California case is pending and the company has asked for arbitration there too; the 2014 Texas case has no public outcome. Court-record searches found no filed consumer class action against Quick Quack, though a local newspaper, The Union, reported that a Grass Valley customer whose vehicle was damaged was "seeking out others who may want to participate in a class action lawsuit" (report dated January 15, 2025, updated February 19, 2026) — a media report of an intention, not a filed case (The Union). No FTC or state attorney-general action was found in searches.
Three addresses appear in the record: Quick Quack's own site says it is "headquartered in Rocklin, California" (About page), its BBB file is kept under Roseville, California, and its Terms of Service give a Roseville mailing address (1380 Lead Hill Blvd #260) for arbitration opt-out notices — a mailing address, not necessarily the headquarters (BBB profile; Terms of Service).
Quick Quack Car Wash overview
Quick Quack Car Wash is a chain of exterior-only express car washes using, per its own FAQ, "a brushless system" (FAQ). It offers two membership types: a Day Pass that does not auto-renew, and Autopay, which "automatically renews each month" until cancelled; both are sold per vehicle (Terms of Service §1.3).
Its multi-vehicle "Flock" discount plan is described in two ways: the Terms of Service allow at most five active vehicles per household, and the company's FAQ says you can "add up to four vehicles" to a membership — which may be the same limit counted differently; both are the company's own words (Terms of Service; FAQ).
The contracting entity named in the Terms is Quick Quack Car Wash Holdings, LLC, a Delaware LLC; S&D Carwash Management, LLC owns the Quick Quack trademark (trademark record) and appears in court records as the entity operating the washes ("d/b/a Quick Quack Car Wash"). Customer Care can be reached at 888-772-2792, 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM Pacific (contact page), or at [email protected] (Terms of Service §5.2); the contact page says memberships can be bought, changed or cancelled online. The company's CEO is Jason Johnson, listed by the BBB as President/CEO (BBB profile).
Prices depend on the location. For one Riverside, California zip code the plans page showed three monthly tiers on September 27, 2026: Good $24.99, Lucky Duck $34.99 and Ceramic Duck $39.99 (plans page).

On September 15, 2021 a magistrate judge recommended that the company's motion to compel arbitration be granted in part, that all of the plaintiff's claims be referred to arbitration and that the case be stayed. The parties filed a stipulation of dismissal on March 9, 2022 and the court dismissed the case with prejudice on March 10, 2022; the terms, if any, behind the stipulation are not public. | Source |

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel a Quick Quack Unlimited membership?
Quick Quack's FAQ says you can cancel "at any time" in the myQQ app: go to Account → Settings → Cancel Your Membership, or call 888-772-2792; you stay active through the paid period with no further charges (FAQ).
Its Terms of Service describe a different process: cancel at least ten days before your renewal date by email or phone, and a $5 fee may apply if you cancel within 45 days of joining (Terms of Service §5.2). We list both because the company states both.
If you are in California and joined online, state law says an automatic-renewal service must be cancellable online, at will, without extra steps (B&P Code §17602(d)).
Does Quick Quack give refunds?
Quick Quack's Terms of Service state that "all payments made to Quick Quack ... are non-refundable," and that "there is no circumstance in which you will be entitled to ... a refund or credit." The same clause adds that Quick Quack "may, in its sole discretion," provide one anyway (Terms of Service §3.2(c)).
What should I do if I believe Quick Quack damaged my car?
Report it to staff at the location (before leaving if you can) and get an incident report and claim number; the company decides claims from its own footage and photos and applies a posted policy covering only factory-installed, secured, undamaged items on vehicles under five years old — Quick Quack's BBB replies reference numbers like "IAD0034414" (BBB complaints). Photograph the damage, keep receipts, and follow up through the Customer Care number the company publishes, 888-772-2792, or the email in its Terms, [email protected]. If that stalls, file a BBB complaint citing your claim number. The Terms' arbitration clause explicitly excludes small claims court, so that option stays open (Terms of Service §9.3).
Who owns Quick Quack Car Wash?
The Terms of Service name Quick Quack Car Wash Holdings, LLC as the contracting entity, with S&D Carwash Management, LLC as the operating/trademark entity. In June 2024, investment funds managed by KKR made a minority investment, with the founders and longtime partner Seidler Equity Partners keeping "meaningful stakes" (International Carwash Association). An $850 million figure for the KKR stake has been reported by Reuters via Yahoo Finance but is not stated in Quick Quack's own release.
Is there a class action lawsuit against Quick Quack?
Court-record searches (Justia/CourtListener) found no filed consumer class action against Quick Quack; the located federal cases are employment or business-tort matters. A local newspaper, The Union, reported (January 15, 2025; updated February 19, 2026) that a Grass Valley customer whose vehicle was damaged was "seeking out others who may want to participate in a class action lawsuit" — a report of an intention, not a filed case (The Union).
