That record lists the licensee's entity type as "Body Corporate/Company" and the trading name as "PRINDIVILLE CAR SALES" at the same Wangara address. A search of the same tool for a "Motor Vehicle Car Market Operator" licence under "Prindiville" returned no current results.

However, official ASIC insolvency notices show AUTOWD PTY. Is Prindiville Car Sales Legitimate?

Insolvency finding (most important fact on this page): Official ASIC published notices show that an administrator was appointed to AUTOWD PTY. LTD. (ACN 608 137 426 -- the exact entity holding the Prindiville Car Sales trading name and dealer licence) on 10 April 2025. On 30 July 2025, creditors passed a deemed special resolution to voluntarily wind the company up, placing it into liquidation, with Mathieu Tribut of Mackay Goodwin (Perth) appointed liquidator. ASIC's own notice for that resolution explicitly labels the trading name "Formerly Trading As 'Prindiville Car Sales'."

This creates a direct, unresolved conflict with two other current official records: WA's DEMIRS Online Licence Search still shows Motor Vehicle Dealer licence MD25514 as "Current" (expiring 29 November 2027) under AUTOWD PTY. LTD., and the Australian Business Register still shows the ABN as active. It is possible the business is continuing to trade under the same name and licence while in liquidation (a liquidator can trade a business on to preserve or realise its value), that the licence/ABN records simply have not yet been updated to reflect the liquidation, or that the physical dealership has changed hands since. We could not determine which of these is the case in this research pass. Two specific, attributable complaints were located during research, both on this business's TrueLocal listing: one alleges a Toyota RAV4 purchased in late November 2024 still had not been transferred into the buyer's name four months later, that the dealership's owner (named "Scott" in the review) was described as difficult to reach, and that the buyer says they involved police. A second, dated around May 2024, alleges a vehicle left with the dealer in March for a key issue shortly before its warranty expired was not returned, with the buyer unable to reach the seller or obtain a refund. Automated access to TrueLocal was blocked for part of this research pass and succeeded for another part, so these accounts are reported as unverified consumer allegations rather than confirmed facts either way.

Separately, a 2015 listing on ComplaintsBoard.com for a business called "Prindiville Car Market," showing the identical street address (38 Prindiville Drive, Wangara WA 6065) but different phone numbers than found elsewhere for this company, describes a complaint about a Kia Rondo's tyres and a refused warranty repair. A WA SAT record independently confirms AUTOWD was already present at this same address by November 2015, the same period as that complaint -- a geographic and temporal overlap worth noting, though no public record directly ties the "Car Market" name to AUTOWD PTY. LTD. or confirms they were the same business.
