"Powell and Sons" Is Not a Gutter Company — It's a Lead-Generation Site

If you searched for "Powell and Sons gutters" (or a similar home-service term) and landed on powellandsons.com, you were not looking at a gutter-installation, waterproofing, or HVAC company's own website -- you were looking at a lead-generation site. Trustpilot itself categorizes the site as a "Business to Business Service," not a gutter installer, and the site's own description reads: "Powell and Sons makes it easy to find the right specialist for any home project. Just tell us what you need, and we'll connect you with trusted professionals in your area." In practice, per multiple independent reviewers, submitting a form on the site results in your contact information being passed to one or more unrelated third-party contractors -- reviewers specifically name LeafFilter, LeafGuard, and Erie Home Improvement as companies that called them after using the site. The same "Powell and Sons" branding has also been used for HVAC and other home-service categories, per ScamPulse.com listings, consistent with a generic lead-generation template rather than one specific trade. An independently verified sister site, All Star Pros, uses the same operator and a substantially similar hero-text/workflow/privacy-policy template, supporting the pattern of one operator running many similarly-built lead-capture brands.

The domain powellandsons.com was registered anonymously (through a privacy-proxy service) on December 6, 2019, but the site's own Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions do disclose an operating entity: Home Media, LLC, doing business as Home Solutions. Home Solutions' own site states it has dual headquarters in Charlotte, NC (3700 South Blvd., Suite 250) and Raleigh, NC, while Powell and Sons' privacy policy still lists the Raleigh address (1122 Oberlin Road) as its mailing contact; BBB lists the entity as an LLC formed August 23, 2018, with Home Media LLC as an alternate name and Sarah Soule as CEO, under a Sales Lead Generation classification, rated F and not BBB-accredited. That policy explicitly describes a business model built on collecting website form submissions and selling them as "leads" to paying partner businesses (sometimes resold again to other network providers), and "Powell and Sons" appears to be one of several similarly-templated brand names this operator runs for different home-service search terms. Its Terms and Conditions also impose mandatory binding arbitration and a class-action waiver, explicitly extended to cover TCPA and telemarketing/text-message claims, with a 30-day window to opt out by emailing [email protected].
