PetSnowy

PetSnowy (also listed with the Better Business Bureau as Petsnowy Co) is a direct-to-consumer seller of smart pet-care hardware, chiefly the SNOW⁺ self-cleaning cat litter box, an automatic pet feeder, a pet water fountain, and a pet air purifier, operated from Irvine, California. No CPSC recall or safety warning and no Health Canada recall naming PetSnowy were found in searches run on September 29, 2026. Bought a PetSnowy SNOW⁺ litter box, feeder or fountain? What to check

PetSnowy (BBB lists the business as Petsnowy Co) sells the SNOW⁺ self-cleaning cat litter box along with an automatic pet feeder, a pet water fountain, and a pet air purifier directly through petsnowy.com. No CPSC recall or safety warning naming PetSnowy, and no Health Canada recall naming PetSnowy, turned up in searches of those two databases on September 29, 2026 — if you have a safety concern about the product itself (not a billing or shipping issue), you can still report it to CPSC's SaferProducts.gov regardless of whether a recall exists.

  • Warranty: PetSnowy's own U.S. warranty page states "most PetSnowy products include a 1-year standard manufacturer warranty, while the Pet Air Purifier includes a 2-year warranty," and that "eligible products may include extended coverage up to 4 years where applicable," for "the original purchaser" only, on products "purchased from our official website." The EU-locale version of this same warranty page states the same underlying terms in months instead of years ("a 12-month standard manufacturer warranty," "a 24-month warranty" for the Pet Air Purifier) and does not repeat the U.S. page's "up to 4 years where applicable" extended-coverage sentence. If replacement parts don't fix the problem, PetSnowy's page says "we will replace your litterbox with a brand new one" and provide a prepaid RMA label for the old unit — but "if the components of the product have been disassembled or tampered with, we regretfully cannot offer a replacement."
  • Safety (kittens and the self-cleaning cycle): PetSnowy's FAQ says kittens weighing 3.3 lb or more "can safely use SNOW⁺ in automatic mode"; for kittens under that weight, it says to turn off automatic cleaning and use 'semi-automatic' mode instead — deactivating automatic cleaning in the PetSnowy app and manually starting each cleaning cycle by pressing the clean button, and to "ensure the kitten is not inside the machine when pressing the button." On the cleaning mechanism itself, the same FAQ says a "SnowSafe⁺" weight sensor and anti-pinch system detects a cat each time it enters or re-enters the globe while it is idle, which "resets the countdown timer" so "the cleaning cycle won't start for another 4 minutes"; if a cat approaches while the globe is already rotating, PetSnowy's FAQ separately says "SnowSafe⁺ technology will detect your cat, causing the globe to stop immediately," not resuming until 15 seconds after the cat is no longer detected. These are the company's own descriptions of how the safety mechanism is designed to work, not independent test results. If you have a safety concern about a PetSnowy product, you can still report it to CPSC at SaferProducts.gov or (800) 638-2772, or to Health Canada, regardless of whether an existing recall covers it.
  • Returns/refunds: The page currently linked from petsnowy.com's own U.S. footer navigation is its Return Policy (last updated September 2024), which says items bought directly from petsnowy.com "may be returned within thirty (30) days of receipt for a full refund," provided the return is "in like-new condition and in their original packaging," with the buyer "responsible for return shipping costs" ("return shipments outside the contiguous 48 states may incur additional shipping costs"). Once a returned item is received, this page says PetSnowy will "issue a refund to your original method of payment within 7-10 business days," after which "your bank or credit card holder is responsible for applying it to your account, which may take up to 30 days"; it gives a return address of 301 Cypress Mdw Dr #100, Pooler, GA 31322. This Return Policy page does not mention any cleaning fee. Separately, an older Refund Policy page at a different URL (petsnowy.com/policies/refund-policy, itself last updated June 2026 but no longer linked from the U.S. footer) is still live and does state that "units returned in unclean conditions may be subject to a $75 cleaning fee deducted from your refund"; PetSnowy's support FAQ repeats the same figure, saying products "returned in an unclean state within the 30-day trial period may incur a $75 cleaning fee deducted from your refund" — so give the unit a good cleaning before you ship it back, even though the currently-linked Return Policy page itself does not mention this fee. The support FAQ also gives a different refund-timing estimate than the Return Policy page: "3-5 business days to process for US payment methods, or 7-10 business days for international payment methods," versus the Return Policy page's "7-10 business days" for any payment method. Items bought through a third-party retailer must be returned to that retailer instead.
  • To start a warranty or return claim, email [email protected], the contact listed on both PetSnowy's warranty page and its Return Policy. Include your order number, a description of the problem, and photos or video if you're reporting a defect, and ask for written instructions and (for a return) an RMA number before shipping anything back. PetSnowy's customer-service phone line, 888-664-6950, is not listed on either policy as a claims channel.
  • Shipping: PetSnowy's shipping page says "all orders are processed within 48 hours" and "orders from the United States will usually ship the next business day"; separately, its in-stock delivery estimate for domestic orders (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) is "1-4 business days" — an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date. It does not ship to PO boxes, APO/FPO, or military addresses. Reviewers on Trustpilot and BBB have separately reported pre-order and backorder delays longer than these windows — if your order is delayed, ask support for a specific restock or ship date in writing.
  • Keep records of your order confirmation, any RMA number issued, and all correspondence with support, in case a warranty or refund claim is disputed later.

Company background

PetSnowy's own website does not publish a dedicated company-history or "About Us" page (its "Why PetSnowy" page is a rotating blog/content hub, not a corporate history); this section relies on public registry and directory records instead. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's TSDR record for the registered word mark PETSNOWY (Reg. No. 7007596, registered March 21, 2023; application filed August 10, 2021) lists the owner as "PETSNOWY," a corporation organized in California, with an address of 64 Crater, Irvine, California 92618 — the same address PetSnowy's own Privacy Policy gives for contact purposes. Individually reopening USPTO TSDR records in this check confirmed eight separate live, registered PETSNOWY marks under that same owner, all filed August 10, 2021 and registered March 21, 2023 by the same attorney: a word mark and a design mark both covering cat litter, cat food and pet food (Class 031), plus word marks for grooming/deodorizing products (Class 003), pet-tracking and bark-control hardware (Class 009), pet carriers/collars/leashes (Class 018), pet beds (Class 020), automatic litter boxes/feeders/waterers (Class 021, the mark cited above), and pet toys (Class 028) — consistent with a company that has expanded from litter boxes into a broader smart pet-care product line. Earlier research for this page also noted USPTO filings for air-deodorizing apparatus and vacuum-cleaner parts; this check did not individually reopen those records, so they are not counted in the total above.

Separately, the Better Business Bureau's file on "Petsnowy Co" (Pet Supplies, Irvine, CA) lists its "Type of Entity" as Sole Proprietorship and its business-start date as August 10, 2021 (BBB's rendered page states "Business Started: 8/10/2021," matching BBB's raw data; the page also states "Years in Business: 5"). This page reports both the USPTO's "corporation" filing and BBB's "sole proprietorship" listing without picking one as authoritative — each is what that respective source states as of this check, and business structures can also change over time. No source found in this check gives a full suffixed legal name (e.g. an "Inc." or "LLC"); this page therefore uses "PetSnowy" throughout.

Complaint record: USAComplaints, BBB and Trustpilot, reported separately

Several sources track complaints and reviews about PetSnowy, and this page reports each separately rather than blending them into one figure:

  • USAComplaints: 0 complaints submitted about PetSnowy on this site as of September 29, 2026.
  • BBB (Petsnowy Co, Irvine, CA, checked September 29, 2026): not BBB accredited; BBB Rating C+, with BBB's stated "Reasons for rating" being "Failure to respond to 1 complaint(s) filed against business." BBB's complaints tab shows 1 complaint in the last 3 years, 0 closed in the last 12 months; the complaint (filed July 22, 2025, marked "Unanswered") describes a customer who says supplies they paid for as part of a bundle never arrived despite assurances, and separately describes odor and performance problems with "the automated litter box." BBB's customer-review score is 1 out of 5 from 2 reviews: one reviewer (Feb. 2025) says their unit "worked fine until it hit the one year" mark, then began to glitch and stick, attributing it to a failed motor, and notes the warranty had expired; the other (Dec. 2024) describes a promotional discount coupon that could not be applied to bundle purchases despite the advertised terms, calling it false advertising.
  • Trustpilot: a claimed profile (since July 2025) showing a TrustScore of 4.4 from 124 reviews, reconfirmed live on this check. Trustpilot separately notes the profile has "no recent history of asking for reviews" (so its review set "may not be representative") and has "replied to 9% of negative reviews." One review from September 2026 describes a preorder for a bundle (litter box, water fountain, feeder) that was repeatedly delayed past its stated ship date, being told items were out of stock while the live website simultaneously advertised the same bundle shipping within 24 hours, and a phone-support representative who said they could not access the caller's account or route the issue to anyone else. For balance, a 5-star review from July 2026 says: "Helpful customer service, my pet snowy works great. My cats both easily fit in it and use it regularly. The only issue I had was I had a part break and needed to replace it, and they were out of stock..." (Trustpilot truncates this review on the profile page; excerpt as displayed).
  • ComplaintsBoard: no ComplaintsBoard profile page for PetSnowy was found at the URL checked on September 29, 2026 (the page returned "404 - Page Not Found"); this is not the same as confirming no complaints exist there under a different URL or name.

Because each source covers a different population, time window, and methodology, none of these figures is added to or averaged with any other.

Pending ADA website-accessibility lawsuit

A federal lawsuit, Bennett v. Petsnowy (N.D. Ill., No. 1:26-cv-03296), was filed March 25, 2026 by Livingston Bennett, described in the complaint as a visually-impaired, legally blind individual who uses screen-reading software. The complaint, brought under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and styled "on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated," alleges that petsnowy.com "contains access barriers that prevent free and full use by" visually-impaired individuals using keyboards and screen readers, listing as examples "inadequate focus order, changing of content without advance warning, unclear labels for interactive elements, inaccurate alt-text on graphics, the lack of navigation links, redundant links where adjacent links go to the same URL address, and the requirement that transactions be performed solely with a mouse." These are allegations from a filed complaint, not findings by any court.

The docket shows the case proceeding through service and scheduling before a Notice of Settlement was filed June 17, 2026, stating the parties "have reached an agreement and anticipate dismissing the case within the next 45 days." Status reports filed August 3 and September 2, 2026 indicate the parties were still "finalizing the settlement agreement and awaiting completion of the settlement obligations"; as of the most recent docket entry checked (September 2, 2026), the court had set a further deadline of October 2, 2026 for either a dismissal filing or another status report. No dismissal, consent judgment, or settlement terms had been filed as of this check, so the case is reported here as a pending filing rather than a completed settlement.

Is PetSnowy Legitimate?

PetSnowy is a real, operating seller of smart pet-care hardware, associated with a California corporation named "PETSNOWY" that holds at least eight live, registered U.S. trademarks individually confirmed in this check (including Reg. No. 7007596 for the PETSNOWY word mark itself), at an address in Irvine, California that matches the contact address on the company's own Privacy Policy. Separately, the Better Business Bureau lists the same business as a sole proprietorship, a discrepancy this page reports rather than resolves. No CPSC or Health Canada recall naming PetSnowy was found in this check. The company is a defendant in a pending federal ADA website-accessibility lawsuit that the parties have reported settling in principle as of mid-2026, though the case had not been dismissed as of this check. BBB gives the reason for PetSnowy's C+ rating as "Failure to respond to 1 complaint(s)"; its Trustpilot score is substantially higher than its BBB customer-review average, and Trustpilot itself flags a low (9%) reply rate to negative reviews and no recent history of soliciting reviews. This page assigns PetSnowy no rating, score, or "scam" label of its own — readers can weigh the warranty terms, complaint record, and litigation record above for themselves. Customer support can be reached at [email protected] or 888-664-6950.

Bennett v. Petsnowy
Docket No. 1:26-cv-03296
U.S. District Court, N.D. Ill.FiledFiled — no final outcome recorded

A putative class action under Title III of the ADA, alleging petsnowy.com has access barriers that prevent visually-impaired individuals using screen-reading software from freely navigating the site, including "inadequate focus order, changing of content without advance warning, unclear labels for interactive elements, inaccurate alt-text on graphics, the lack of navigation links, redundant links ..., and the requirement that transactions be performed solely with a mouse" — allegations from the complaint, not court findings. A Notice of Settlement was filed June 17, 2026, stating the parties anticipated dismissing the case within 45 days; status reports in August and September 2026 said the parties were still finalizing settlement obligations, and the court set an October 2, 2026 deadline for a dismissal filing or further status report. No dismissal or settlement terms had been filed as of this check.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is PetSnowy legit?

PetSnowy is associated with a California corporation named "PETSNOWY" that holds at least eight live, registered U.S. trademarks individually confirmed in this check, including the PETSNOWY word mark itself (Reg. No. 7007596), at an address in Irvine, California matching the company's own Privacy Policy contact address. The Better Business Bureau separately lists the same business as a sole proprietorship — a discrepancy this page reports rather than resolves. PetSnowy's BBB rating is C+, based on one unanswered complaint in the last three years; its Trustpilot score is 4.4 from 124 reviews. This page assigns PetSnowy no rating or "scam" label of its own.

Has a PetSnowy product been recalled?

No CPSC recall or safety warning naming PetSnowy, and no Health Canada recall naming PetSnowy, were found in searches of those two government databases run on September 29, 2026. This describes the search results as of that date, not a certainty that no issue has ever been reported; if you have a safety concern about a PetSnowy product, you can report it to CPSC at SaferProducts.gov.

How do I get warranty service or a return (RMA) from PetSnowy?

PetSnowy's warranty page states most products carry a 1-year manufacturer warranty (2 years for the Pet Air Purifier, with eligible products potentially covered up to 4 years), for the original purchaser only, on items bought from the official website. Email [email protected] to start a warranty claim, or to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping anything back for a return; PetSnowy's Return Policy allows returns within 30 days of receipt for items bought directly from petsnowy.com, in like-new condition and original packaging where reasonably possible, with the buyer responsible for return shipping. PetSnowy's separate support FAQ (not the Return Policy) says units returned unclean may incur a $75 cleaning fee.

What if a PetSnowy litter box fails after the warranty period?

A BBB customer review (February 2025) describes a unit that "worked fine until it hit the one year" mark, then began to glitch and get stuck, which the reviewer attributed to a failed motor — noting the warranty had by then expired, since PetSnowy's standard warranty runs 1 year from purchase. This is one customer's account, not a verified defect rate or a pattern. If your unit is still within its warranty period, contact [email protected] for a replacement-parts or replacement-unit claim before the warranty lapses; if it has already expired, PetSnowy's warranty page does not describe an out-of-warranty repair or discount program, so contact [email protected] directly to ask what options, if any, are available.

Is there a lawsuit against PetSnowy?

A federal ADA website-accessibility lawsuit, Bennett v. Petsnowy (N.D. Ill., No. 1:26-cv-03296), filed March 25, 2026, alleges petsnowy.com has access barriers for visually-impaired users relying on screen readers (an allegation, not a court finding). The parties filed a Notice of Settlement on June 17, 2026 and reported in September 2026 that they were still finalizing settlement obligations; no dismissal had been filed as of this check (September 29, 2026), and no settlement terms are publicly available.

What is PetSnowy's BBB rating?

The Better Business Bureau rates "Petsnowy Co" (Irvine, CA) C+, stating the reason is "Failure to respond to 1 complaint(s) filed against business." The business is not BBB accredited. BBB's complaints tab shows 1 complaint in the last 3 years (0 closed in the last 12 months), and its customer-review average is 1 out of 5 from 2 reviews.

How do I contact PetSnowy?

PetSnowy's customer support can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 888-664-6950. Its website is petsnowy.com, and its listed address (matching both its Privacy Policy and its USPTO trademark registration) is 64 Crater, Irvine, CA 92618.

Does PetSnowy ship to PO boxes or military addresses?

PetSnowy's shipping policy states it "can only accept physical addresses (no PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses)" and that, "due to internal procedures and regulations," it is "currently unable to ship directly to military addresses." U.S. orders are otherwise processed within 48 hours and typically shipped in 1-4 business days once in stock, according to the same policy.
