NEWDERY

NEWDERY is a consumer-electronics accessories brand (power banks, wireless chargers, battery phone cases, and gaming chargers for PS5/Xbox/Nintendo Switch) sold through its own site newdery.com and through an Amazon storefront (seller account "NEWDERY-US", 5.0 stars, 99% positive over the last 12 months from 175 ratings). The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 21,380 NEWDERY power banks (model ZHX-PB22) on September 24, 2026 after nine reports of the lithium-ion battery exploding or igniting, including one fire that caused $2 million in property damage and one burn injury; CPSC had earlier warned consumers on June 5, 2025 (warning 25-327) that the importer had refused to conduct a recall. In the sources checked, no BBB, Trustpilot, or ComplaintsBoard profile was found for NEWDERY, and a USAComplaints search found no matching approved complaints as of September 28, 2026.

Own a NEWDERY power bank or accessory? What to check first

If you own a NEWDERY portable phone charger / power bank with model number ZHX-PB22 (a 10000mAh power bank also marketed as an Apple Watch charger, black with yellow cables, sold exclusively on Amazon.com between October 2023 and November 2024 for $27–$50), it is subject to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall. CPSC's recall notice states: "The lithium-ion battery in the power banks can explode or ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers," and that NEWDERY "has received nine reports of the recalled power banks exploding and igniting, including one report of a serious fire resulting in $2 million in property damage and one report of a burn injury." About 21,380 units are affected.

  • Check the model number. The brand name "NEWDERY" is engraved on the front and the model number "ZHX-PB22" is printed on the back.
  • Stop using it immediately if it matches, and disconnect it from any charger or device.
  • To get a refund, CPSC's notice says you will need to submit a photo of the power bank showing the model number, serial number, and the word "recalled" plus your last name written on it in permanent marker, and confirm you disposed of it as hazardous waste (CPSC says not to put it in the trash, curbside recycling, or the used-battery recycling boxes at retail and home-improvement stores; call your municipal household hazardous waste collection center first to ask whether it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries). Contact NEWDERY toll-free at 888-256-6673 (11 a.m.–7 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday), email [email protected], or see newdery.com/pages/newdery-power-bank-recalls.
  • NEWDERY's own recall page adds that "Normally, Amazon has refunded affected users" already, and to contact NEWDERY only if you have not received a refund from Amazon or need further help — in that case it asks for your Amazon order number, the reason Amazon didn't refund you, and photos of the disposed unit.
  • Report a fire, injury or other incident to CPSC at SaferProducts.gov (saferproducts.gov/IncidentReporting).
  • Bought in spring or summer 2023? The 2026 recall covers units sold October 2023 to November 2024, but CPSC's June 2025 warning described ZHX-PB22 units sold from March 2023 through November 2024 and urged consumers to stop using them and dispose of them as hazardous waste. If yours was bought earlier than October 2023, stop using it anyway and ask NEWDERY or CPSC whether it qualifies for the refund.
  • The recall refund is separate from NEWDERY's ordinary return policy (30 days, restocking fee); don't let a store-return deadline stop you from using the recall remedy.

For any other NEWDERY product issue (a different model, a non-recalled item that stopped working, a wrong or damaged order), the company's stated channels are: email [email protected] (or use the contact form at newdery.com/pages/contact-us) for order problems on either the official website or Amazon; cancellations are accepted only within 24 hours of ordering or before shipment; returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt if the item is unused and in original packaging (a 20% restocking fee applies to returns not caused by a seller error, and the buyer pays return shipping in that case); and the company states a one-month after-sales warranty from receipt of goods.

CPSC recall of NEWDERY power banks (model ZHX-PB22)

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published recall no. 26-792, dated September 24, 2026, titled "NEWDERY Power Banks Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards; Risk of Serious Injury; Sold on Amazon." The recall covers about 21,380 units of the NEWDERY power bank model ZHX-PB22, sold on Amazon.com from October 2023 to November 2024 for between $27 and $50. CPSC's stated hazard: "The lithium-ion battery in the power banks can explode or ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers." CPSC's stated incidents/injuries: "NEWDERY has received nine reports of the recalled power banks exploding and igniting, including one report of a serious fire resulting in $2 million in property damage and one report of a burn injury." The remedy is a full refund, conditioned on the consumer submitting a photo of the marked unit and confirming proper hazardous-waste disposal. CPSC's record lists the importer of record as "Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics Co., Ltd., d/b/a NEWDERY, of China," and the product as manufactured in China.

Earlier CPSC warning (June 2025). On June 5, 2025, CPSC issued Product Safety Warning 25-327 urging consumers to immediately stop using NEWDERY power banks model ZHX-PB22, stating that the importer, Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics Co. Ltd., d/b/a NEWDERY, "has refused to conduct a recall." That warning described about 17,670 units sold exclusively on Amazon.com from March 2023 through November 2024. The formal recall followed on September 24, 2026, covering about 21,380 units sold from October 2023 to November 2024. NEWDERY's own recall page (newdery.com/pages/newdery-power-bank-recalls) is also dated June 5, 2025 and describes a voluntary recall in cooperation with CPSC; this page reports each source as published and does not reconcile them.

Company background

The sources checked associate the NEWDERY brand with two different Chinese company names, and no primary source found in this research confirms how those entities relate to each other:

  • Amazon lists the NEWDERY-US seller account's Detailed Seller Information as Business Name "Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology Co., Ltd.," with a business address in Baoan District, Yanluo Street, Tangxiachong Community, Shenzhen, Guangdong 518127, China.
  • CPSC's recall notice for the ZHX-PB22 power bank names the importer of record as "Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics Co., Ltd., d/b/a NEWDERY, of China."

NEWDERY's own site (newdery.com, a Shopify store) states in its Terms of Service that "this website is operated by NEWDERY" and is "governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of China," without naming a legal entity. Its Privacy Policy — a partly unedited Shopify template that still names "newdery.myshopify.com" and leaves several bracketed placeholders unfilled — gives a contact address in Baoan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong 518107, China. On Amazon, NEWDERY's own "From the brand" product-page text describes it as "a professional leader in gaming equipment accessories" that has "been committed to the development of console games and mobile game peripheral products," adding: "We have our own factories and professional R&D personnel." NEWDERY's Amazon seller "About Seller" text states the brand "was founded in 2017" and has "over 3 million customers in more than 30 countries and regions around the world" — the company's own claims, not independently verified here. NEWDERY's product range spans phone power banks and battery cases, wireless and MagSafe-style watch chargers, and charging docks/accessories for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch controllers.

Complaint record: USAComplaints, BBB, CFPB, Trustpilot, ComplaintsBoard, Amazon

This page reports each source separately rather than blending them into one figure:

  • USAComplaints: 0 complaints about Newdery submitted on this site as of September 28, 2026.
  • BBB: no business profile for Newdery, Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology, or Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics was found in a BBB search run September 28, 2026.
  • CFPB: not applicable — NEWDERY sells consumer electronics accessories, not a financial product or service, so the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database was not checked.
  • Trustpilot: no profile found at trustpilot.com/review/newdery.com as of September 28, 2026 (the URL returned a "page not found" message).
  • ComplaintsBoard: no page found at complaintsboard.com/newdery as of September 28, 2026 (404).
  • Amazon seller feedback (NEWDERY-US, checked September 28, 2026): 5.0 out of 5 stars, 99% positive over the last 12 months, from 175 ratings; Amazon seller feedback measures marketplace-order experience, not product-safety issues like the CPSC recall above, and is not combined with any other figure on this page.

Is NEWDERY Legitimate?

NEWDERY has a live website (newdery.com) and an Amazon storefront whose seller profile showed 5.0/5 and 99% positive feedback over 12 months from 175 ratings when checked on September 28, 2026. In its own Amazon text, the brand claims to have factories and professional R&D personnel; that claim was not independently verified. It is associated with at least two distinct Chinese company names in the primary sources checked — "Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology Co., Ltd." (Amazon seller-account business name) and "Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics Co., Ltd., d/b/a NEWDERY" (CPSC importer of record for the recalled power bank) — and no source found here confirms how those two names relate to each other. NEWDERY's power bank was the subject of a June 5, 2025 CPSC safety warning (25-327) and then a September 24, 2026 CPSC recall of about 21,380 ZHX-PB22 power banks after nine reports of the battery exploding or igniting (one fire causing $2 million in property damage, one burn injury); NEWDERY's own site separately dates the recall announcement to June 5, 2025. The searches documented for this page found no CourtListener case naming NEWDERY, Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology, or Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics as a party as of September 28, 2026, and no BBB, Trustpilot, or ComplaintsBoard profile was identified. This page assigns NEWDERY no rating, score, or "scam" label of its own; the recall, complaint, and identity information above is reported so readers — especially anyone who owns a ZHX-PB22 power bank — can act on it directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is NEWDERY legit?

NEWDERY has a live website (newdery.com) and an Amazon storefront (seller "NEWDERY-US") that shows 5.0 out of 5 stars and 99% positive feedback over the last 12 months from 175 ratings, as checked on September 28, 2026. Amazon's Detailed Seller Information names the business as "Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology Co., Ltd.," with an address in Shenzhen, China. Separately, NEWDERY had one power-bank model recalled by the CPSC in 2026 for a fire/explosion hazard (see below) — this page reports that record rather than assigning NEWDERY a "legit" label of its own.

Is my NEWDERY power bank part of a recall?

It is, if it is model number ZHX-PB22 — a 10,000mAh power bank/Apple Watch charger, black with yellow cables, sold exclusively on Amazon.com from October 2023 to November 2024. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 21,380 of these units on September 24, 2026 (recall no. 26-792) because the lithium-ion battery "can explode or ignite, posing fire and burn hazards." The brand name "NEWDERY" is engraved on the front and the model number is printed on the back — check there first. If your NEWDERY product is a different model (a charging dock, cable, or controller charger, for example), it is not covered by this recall.

How do I get a refund for a recalled NEWDERY power bank (ZHX-PB22)?

CPSC's recall notice says to stop using the power bank immediately, then contact NEWDERY for refund instructions. CPSC's notice says: "To receive a refund, consumers will be required to submit a photo of their recalled power bank showing the model number, serial number and the word 'recalled' and the consumer's last name written on the power bank in permanent marker," and to confirm disposal in accordance with applicable laws before receiving a refund. NEWDERY's own recall page adds that Amazon has "normally" already refunded affected buyers, and asks anyone who hasn't been refunded to email [email protected] with their Amazon order number, the reason Amazon didn't refund them, and disposal photos. You can also call NEWDERY toll-free at 888-256-6673, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday.

How do I contact NEWDERY customer service?

NEWDERY's Contact Us page lists email [email protected] and phone +86 755 2795 3337 (Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00; the page does not state the time zone), plus a contact form, and states it handles after-sales for both official-website and Amazon orders through the same channel. For recall-specific help, use the toll-free U.S. number 888-256-6673 or [email protected] instead. Terms-of-service questions specifically go to [email protected].

What is NEWDERY's return and refund policy?

Per NEWDERY's own Returns & Refunds page: orders can be canceled for a full refund only before shipment or within 24 hours of ordering. Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt if the item is unused, in its original packaging, and accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase; a 20% restocking fee applies to returns "resulting from circumstances not attributable to the seller's error," and in that case the buyer pays return shipping. NEWDERY states it does not issue refunds on non-faulty items until the returned item reaches its factory and is confirmed, and that it offers a one-month after-sales warranty from receipt of goods. NEWDERY says it is not responsible for packages its tracking shows as delivered, and directs consumers to their local shipping carrier in that case.

Why does NEWDERY have two different company names?

Two different Chinese legal-entity names are associated with the NEWDERY brand in the primary sources checked. Amazon's Detailed Seller Information for the "NEWDERY-US" storefront names the business as "Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology Co., Ltd." The CPSC's recall notice for the ZHX-PB22 power bank instead names the importer of record as "Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics Co., Ltd., d/b/a NEWDERY." No source found in this research explains or confirms the relationship between the two — whether they are the same company under different registrations, affiliated companies, or otherwise — so this page reports both names as found rather than assuming one is correct or that they are the same entity.

Does NEWDERY have a U.S. office or address?

No U.S. office address for NEWDERY was found in the sources checked on September 28, 2026. Every address found — on NEWDERY's own Privacy Policy page and on its Amazon seller profile — is in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. NEWDERY does provide a U.S. toll-free phone number for recall support (888-256-6673) and sells through Amazon.com, and the addresses found on its Privacy Policy and Amazon seller profile are in Shenzhen, China; the company separately claims to have its own factories.

Are there lawsuits against NEWDERY?

A CourtListener search run September 28, 2026 for "Newdery," "Shenzhen Zhenghaixin Technology," and "Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics" found no lawsuits naming any of them as a party (one unrelated case, Apple Inc. v. Masimo Corporation, contains an incidental full-text match on the word "Newdery" and is not about this company). The regulatory record found consists of CPSC's June 5, 2025 safety warning and its September 24, 2026 recall of NEWDERY power bank model ZHX-PB22 for a fire/explosion hazard, both described elsewhere on this page.

What products does NEWDERY sell?

According to NEWDERY's own site, it "specializes in designing and manufacturing innovative and high-quality mobile phone accessories, smartwatch accessories, and game device accessories," including power banks, wireless chargers, and battery phone cases. Its Amazon storefront also lists charging docks and cable/grip accessories for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch controllers, plus Apple Watch chargers.
