Mochi Health problems: cancel a membership, stop a charge, ask for a refund, escalate (checked October 14, 2026)
Two things can renew: the membership and the medication. The Terms of Use (updated September 22, 2026) describe a monthly subscription fee for the Paid Membership and, separately, an optional automatic monthly Medication Subscription. They state that the customer authorizes charges at "each automatic monthly renewal (unless you have chosen to prepay the Monthly Subscription Fee), until you cancel" and that the subscription must be cancelled "before it renews to avoid being charged". BBB's notice on its profile says that "health memberships and medication subscriptions are separate and must be cancelled independently".
How to cancel (the company's own wording). The Terms say a Paid Membership can be cancelled "by logging into ... Mochi account and selecting 'cancel subscription'" or by calling (619) 648-1247. They add that contacting [email protected] "is NOT an acceptable way" to cancel and that requests by email or other unlisted methods "will NOT be considered valid". Cancellation "will take effect at the end of the then current subscription term", and cancelling the Paid Membership "will automatically result in a cancellation of any active Medication Subscriptions if such medications require an active Paid Membership". A Medication Subscription can be cancelled or modified "at any time prior to a refill request being sent to a pharmacy", using 'Modify' on the medication page. After cancellation the account reverts to a Free Membership without video visits.
Refunds. The Terms say: "We do not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods, although we may provide refunds on a case-by-case basis in our sole and absolute discretion." Any discretionary refund "will not exceed the total fee amount paid by you in the month preceding the refund request", is not available for a month in which a Mochi Provider delivered services, and Medication Fees "are not eligible for a refund" once the order has been sent to a pharmacy. The separate Refunds and Returns page says prescription medications cannot be returned or refunded and "all prescription sales are final", but invites patients to reach out if they believe an error was made filling a prescription. The Patient Agreement adds that a missed appointment without 24 hours' notice may be charged a fee "of up to $75.00".
Price changes. The Terms say that if the amount charged differs from the amount pre-authorized, the customer has the right to receive notice "at least 30 days before the scheduled date" of the charge and may cancel. The company's FAQ page (opened October 14, 2026) lists Mochi Health Membership prices of $79 for 1 month, $207 for 3 months, $354 for 6 months and $588 for 12 months, and says compounded semaglutide starts "as low as $60/month" and compounded tirzepatide "as low as $90/month"; the home page shows a different insurance-based pricing block ($199 for 12 months) and "Cancel anytime". Read the checkout screen, because offers and terms change.
Disputes and arbitration. The Terms and the Patient Agreement contain binding individual arbitration with a class-action waiver unless the customer opts out within 30 days of first accepting them, by email to [email protected] or by mail to 333 Bush St., Suite #1200, San Francisco, CA 94104, ATTN: "Arbitration Opt-out". The Terms also say "No Dispute ... may be brought by you more than one (1) year after the cause of action arose". Read the current Terms before relying on this summary.
Escalation. Keep the dates of each charge and cancellation request. Besides the company's phone line and in-account cancellation, the Patient Agreement (section 14) lists state medical-board complaint contacts for clinical concerns, for example the Medical Board of California (800) 633-2322 and the Texas Medical Board 1-800-201-9353. BBB accepts complaints (see the complaint record below), and a card issuer's dispute process may also apply; the Terms note that if a bank reverses a charge the company may bill the account directly.
Regulator actions: Washington action against pharmacy Aequita; no action naming Mochi Health identified (checked October 14, 2026)
Scope of this check. On October 14, 2026 the FDA, FTC and state attorney-general search pages could not be loaded in a usable form, so this page does not state whether any FDA warning letter, FTC action or state attorney-general action exists against Mochi Health Corp. The only regulator action found in the sources opened is directed at a pharmacy.
Washington Department of Health, Aequita Pharmacy LLC. A Washington State Department of Health release dated March 13, 2025 says the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission issued a Limited Stop Service on the license of Aequita Pharmacy LLC, Kirkland, WA, "pending further legal action", so that it could not compound or distribute compounded products. The release says the notice "alleges that Aequita ... failed to develop and implement a commission-approved plan of correction to correct deficient practices or conditions" and that "The deficient practices include allowing untrained and unqualified staff to perform sterile compounding, not properly supervising staff, and not adhering to sterile compounding procedures designed to ensure product integrity and patient safety". The release is about the pharmacy and does not name Mochi Health. Eli Lilly's court complaint names Aequita Pharmacy LLC and Aequita Corporation as co-defendants with Mochi (see the litigation record), and NBC Bay Area reported on June 4, 2026 that Mochi had worked with Aequita and that state officials said the pharmacy closed in April 2026. The same report says Mochi still offers compounded GLP-1 medication through other pharmacies. NBC Bay Area said it had sought comment from Aequita and from Mochi's chief executive since April 2026 and had not received a response; it attributes to whistleblowers the claim that the chief executive was directly involved in the matters reported to state inspectors. These are news reports of allegations by whistleblowers, not findings against Mochi.
What the company says. In a blog post dated March 19, 2025 (company statement), Mochi said that the Department of Health "has not issued a recall for medications already dispensed", that it had made third-party Certificates of Analysis for recent Aequita batches publicly available, and that it "will not resume work with Aequita Pharmacy until the DOH confirms full compliance". The post also states that there were no direct issues with the quality or safety of any medications shipped or produced; that is Mochi's own statement and this page does not adopt it as a finding. In a March 2025 email to Pharmaceutical Technology, Mochi's chief executive said the company would "continue to provide compounded GLP-1RAs, even after the FDA has resolved the semaglutide shortage".
Who operates Mochi Health, how it works and who the clinicians and pharmacies are
Operator. The website footer says "All professional medical services are provided by licensed physicians and clinicians affiliated with independently owned and operated professional practices. Mochi Health Corp. provides administrative and technology services to affiliated medical practices it supports, and does not provide any professional medical services itself." The Patient Agreement names the practices Mochi Medical, P.C., Mochi Medical CA, P.C., Mochi Medical NJ, P.C. and Mochi Medical KS, P.A.; the Terms of Use name Mochi Medical, P.A. (Florida), Mochi Medical CA, P.C. and Mochi Medical KS, P.A. Lilly's complaint describes Mochi Health Corp. as a Delaware corporation; BBB lists the business as a corporation started and incorporated February 16, 2022 (raw page data), accredited since August 24, 2026.
What it sells. The About page says the company was "founded in San Francisco" and the site says it has "500,000+" members (company claims). The FAQ page describes a membership that connects patients with providers, dietitians and coaches for medication-based weight loss and lists prescribed medications such as tirzepatide, semaglutide and liraglutide products, with compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide available through partner pharmacies. The Terms say prescriptions "may be filled through one of our partner pharmacies" and that the pharmacies and Mochi Providers are third-party beneficiaries of the Terms. The Patient Agreement says Mochi is not enrolled with Medicare or Medicaid and does not currently bill commercial insurance directly, while the home page markets insurance-coverage checks and an insurance-based pricing option; read the plan terms shown at checkout.
Compounded medicines. The Terms and FAQ describe compounded medications; the Patient Agreement says prescribed products are shipped by the pharmacy and that dealings with pharmacies are "solely between you and such third parties". Lilly and Novo Nordisk have sued Mochi over how compounded tirzepatide and semaglutide are advertised and prescribed; those claims are allegations and are described in the litigation record.
Complaint and review record: BBB, Trustpilot and this site's archive (as displayed on October 14, 2026)
BBB (profile for Mochi Health, San Francisco). As displayed on October 14, 2026: BBB Accredited and rated A; 1,418 total complaints in the last 3 years and 227 filed in the last 12 months; customer reviews 1.29 out of 5 on an average of 317 reviews. BBB's raw page data gives file opened December 28, 2023, business started and incorporated February 16, 2022, and accredited August 24, 2026. BBB's notice says Mochi came to its attention in December 2023, a review of complaints was completed in April 2026, and "complaints processed by BBB are related to cancellations". BBB lists Mochi Health Corp, Mochi Medical West and Mochi Medical CA PC as alternate names.
Trustpilot (joinmochi.com). As displayed on October 14, 2026: 4.5 average on 19,412 reviews, 6,250 of them in the last 12 months, with 81 percent shown as 5-star and 9 percent as 1-star. The profile has been claimed since January 2024 on a paid Trustpilot subscription; the page says the company invites customers to review and replied to 98 percent of negative reviews. Trustpilot's own notice is that it does not fact-check reviews. The home page testimonials carry the note "These are real Mochi members who were compensated for sharing their experiences".
Reading the numbers. BBB and Trustpilot count different things (complaints and reviews collected by different processes) and are not combined or averaged here. Neither a high nor a low score proves how a particular order or cancellation was handled.
This site's archive. No approved complaint on usacomplaints.com naming Mochi Health was found in the archive search run on October 14, 2026, so no complaint is linked to this profile.
Court record: Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk and Ward (privacy class action) v. Mochi Health Corp. (checked October 14, 2026)
Eli Lilly and Company v. Mochi Health Corp. et al., No. 3:25-cv-03534-JSC (N.D. Cal.). Filed April 23, 2025 against Mochi Health Corp., Mochi Medical CA, P.C., Mochi Medical P.A., Aequita Pharmacy LLC and Aequita Corporation (all five are named in the complaint's caption). The court's October 2025 order lists Lilly's allegations: that Mochi misrepresented compounded tirzepatide as a generic of Mounjaro and Zepbound, described it as safe and effective based on studies of Lilly's products, claimed it was "personalized", falsely claimed that its partner Aequita Pharmacy voluntarily stopped compounding tirzepatide, and advertised its founder and chief executive as a licensed physician; the same order and the complaint also describe a corporate-practice-of-medicine theory (changing dosages and adding ingredients such as niacinamide without a clinical indication). Lilly's complaint further alleges that Mochi's chief executive and her husband own Mochi Health Corp. and that he is an owner and the president of Aequita Corporation. These are a competitor's allegations, not findings. The defendants moved to dismiss and have since answered the complaint.
- October 24, 2025: the court granted the defendants' motion to dismiss without prejudice and with leave to amend because Lilly had not plausibly alleged Article III standing, a ground the order says the court raised itself rather than one the defendants urged.
- November 14, 2025: Lilly filed a First Amended Complaint. On April 20, 2026 the court denied the motion to dismiss for lack of subject-matter jurisdiction and denied dismissal of the California Unfair Competition Law claim and the Lanham Act claim, and granted dismissal of the civil conspiracy claim with leave to amend.
- May 8, 2026: Second Amended Complaint. On September 8, 2026 the court granted in part and denied in part the defendants' motion to dismiss it: it dismissed the Lanham Act conspiracy theory against the Mochi Medical and Aequita defendants without leave to amend (without prejudice to a motion to amend if new facts emerge) and denied the motion as to conspiracy to violate the Unfair Competition Law against the Aequita defendants.
- September 22, 2026: defendants answered the Second Amended Complaint; an amended answer was filed October 13, 2026. Pretrial Order No. 1 (May 21, 2026) sets a jury trial for January 10 to 18, 2028. Discovery is open and a further case management conference is set for November 4, 2026. No finding on the merits has been made.
Novo Nordisk A/S and Novo Nordisk Inc. v. Mochi Health Corp. et al., No. 5:25-cv-06563 (N.D. Cal.). Filed August 4, 2025 against Mochi Health Corp., Mochi Medical CA, P.C. and Mochi Medical P.A. The Second Amended Complaint filed March 5, 2026 (Dkt. 45) pleads Lanham Act false advertising, California False Advertising Law, Unfair Competition Law and common-law unfair competition claims and alleges, among other things, that Mochi's statements about its compounded semaglutide being personalized, and about its quality and safety compared with Novo's FDA-approved medicines, are false or misleading and that Mochi unlawfully engages in the corporate practice of medicine. A first motion to dismiss was terminated as moot on October 28, 2025 after an amended complaint. Docket entries show: June 29, 2026, case management and scheduling order referring the case to private ADR; July 1, 2026, the court (Judge Eumi K. Lee) held a hearing on the defendants' motion to dismiss the Second Amended Complaint and "DENIED the motion for the reasons stated on the record"; July 16, 2026, the defendants answered; and in August and September 2026 the parties filed discovery and protective-order letter briefs. Discovery is under way and no merits ruling has been made.
Ward v. Mochi Health Corp., No. 3:26-cv-01393-RFL (N.D. Cal.). A proposed privacy class action filed February 17, 2026 by Kimberly Ward, an individual plaintiff suing for herself and a proposed class. Her complaint says it "arises out of Mochi's unlawful use of third-party tracking technologies" (naming Meta, Google, TikTok and others) to intercept and disclose patients' health information, and pleads ten claims including the Wiretap Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, breach of contract, negligence and the California Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act. On September 1, 2026 the court granted in part and denied in part Mochi's motion to dismiss: it dismissed the claims it calls breach of implied warranty and bailment with leave to amend and stated that "All other claims survive dismissal". An amended complaint was filed September 22, 2026, the case was referred to private ADR on October 7, 2026, and Mochi's answer deadline was extended by stipulation in October 2026. These are allegations; no class has been certified and no merits ruling has been made. Mochi's arbitration clause is described in the section on how to cancel; whether it applies to any person's claim is for the court.
Other docket. Cioppettini v. Mochi Medical CA, P.C. et al. is a Fair Labor Standards Act case brought by a clinician against Mochi Medical CA, Mochi Medical P.A. and Mochi Health Corp.; on July 7, 2026 the Northern District of California denied the motion to dismiss but granted the motion to transfer, and the case continues as No. 6:26-cv-02720 in the District of South Carolina. It is an employment dispute, not a patient complaint. This page does not claim to list every lawsuit involving the company.
The Lilly and Novo cases are brought by pharmaceutical manufacturers over advertising and prescribing practices; they are not consumer class actions. None of the three pending cases decides whether any individual patient's order, billing or cancellation was handled properly.
Is Mochi Health Legitimate?
Mochi Health Corp. is an identifiable company: a San Francisco telehealth operator, listed with BBB as a corporation started February 16, 2022, rated A and BBB Accredited as displayed on October 14, 2026, that works with affiliated medical practices (Mochi Medical entities) and partner pharmacies. Its own pages publish a phone line, an in-account cancellation path, refund terms and an arbitration opt-out address.
The record also contains documented disputes: BBB shows 1,418 complaints in the last 3 years with BBB saying complaints it processes relate to cancellations, and its customer reviews average 1.29 out of 5 on 317 reviews, while Trustpilot shows 4.5 on 19,412 reviews. Two drugmakers have sued the company in federal court over advertising and prescribing of compounded GLP-1 medicines, a proposed class action alleges that website trackers disclosed health information, and a Washington regulator took action against a pharmacy that Lilly names as Mochi's co-defendant. These are allegations and rulings on pleadings, not final findings against Mochi. This page does not rate the company.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel a Mochi Health membership?
The Terms of Use (updated September 22, 2026) say a Paid Membership can be cancelled by logging in and selecting "cancel subscription" or by calling (619) 648-1247, and that emailing [email protected] is not an acceptable way to cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription term.
Does cancelling the membership also cancel the medication subscription?
The Terms say cancelling the Paid Membership "will automatically result in a cancellation of any active Medication Subscriptions if such medications require an active Paid Membership". BBB's notice on its profile says health memberships and medication subscriptions "must be cancelled independently". Check the account after cancelling to confirm both are off.
Does Mochi Health give refunds?
The Terms say the company does not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods but may provide them case by case in its discretion, capped at the fee paid in the month before the request, and that Medication Fees are not refundable once the order has been sent to a pharmacy. The Refunds page says all prescription sales are final but invites contact if the company made an error filling a prescription.
What is Mochi Health's phone number?
The company's contact page gives +1 (619) 648-1247 for patient support and platform questions, and the Terms of Use give the same number for cancelling a membership by phone. The FAQ page says customer support is available 24/7.
Is Mochi Health being sued?
Eli Lilly (No. 3:25-cv-03534-JSC) and Novo Nordisk (No. 5:25-cv-06563) have each sued Mochi Health Corp. in the Northern District of California over the advertising and prescribing of compounded tirzepatide and semaglutide. In the Lilly case the court has allowed the Unfair Competition Law and Lanham Act claims to proceed past the pleading stage and set trial for January 2028. In the Novo case the court denied Mochi's motion to dismiss on July 1, 2026 and the defendants answered on July 16, 2026. A third federal case, Ward v. Mochi Health Corp. (No. 3:26-cv-01393-RFL), is a proposed class action over website trackers; on September 1, 2026 the court dismissed two claims with leave to amend and let the others proceed. No merits ruling has been made in any of them and all are allegations.
What do BBB and Trustpilot show for Mochi Health?
As displayed on October 14, 2026, BBB shows an A rating, BBB Accredited, 1,418 complaints in the last 3 years and 1.29 out of 5 on 317 customer reviews; Trustpilot shows 4.5 on 19,412 reviews. The two are different systems and are not combined here.
Can I sue Mochi Health or join a class action?
The Terms of Use and Patient Agreement contain binding individual arbitration with a class-action waiver unless the customer opts out within 30 days of first accepting them, by email to [email protected] or by mail to the Bush Street address stated in the Terms. Read the current Terms for the full conditions.
Who provides the medical care and fills the prescriptions?
The website footer says professional medical services are provided by licensed clinicians affiliated with independently owned practices and that Mochi Health Corp. provides administrative and technology services only. The Terms say prescriptions may be filled through partner pharmacies, which are separate from Mochi Health Corp.
What is the Aequita Pharmacy matter?
A Washington State Department of Health release of March 13, 2025 says the state Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission issued a Limited Stop Service on Aequita Pharmacy LLC pending further legal action. Eli Lilly's lawsuit names Aequita as a co-defendant with Mochi; the Department's release does not name Mochi Health. Mochi's own blog post of March 19, 2025 says it would not resume work with Aequita until the Department confirmed full compliance (company statement).
