Metricool
Metricool is a social media scheduling and analytics tool. Metricool says it is run by Metricool Software, S.L., registered in Madrid, Spain, and its privacy policy says it is part of the team.blue group. Its Terms (updated April 1, 2026) say the service is aimed at professionals and companies and renews automatically; the company says it offers a 15-day withdrawal right on a first payment (a new purchase after an earlier subscription ended counts as a new first purchase) and refunds no automatic renewals. No complaint on this site names Metricool, no court case, regulator action or BBB profile was identified in the sources checked on 2026-10-03, and Trustpilot displays 4.1 out of 5 from 670 reviews on that date.

Metricool charges, cancellation, refunds and connection problems: what the company's own pages say
Metricool says it is operated by Metricool Software, S.L., which it states is registered in Madrid, Spain. Its Terms ("Updated on April 1st 2026") describe the service as a tool "aimed at professionals and companies," are governed by Spanish law with the courts of Madrid, and add that if a customer is treated as a consumer, "the courts and tribunals of their domicile shall have jurisdiction." The same section says the choice of Spanish law "does not prevent invoking the protection offered by the mandatory provisions of the law of the habitual residence in the case of being a consumer or user," while stating that Metricool "is addressed to companies and/or professionals." The 15-day withdrawal period below is a term of that contract (Terms section 19); this site has not assessed whether any statutory right applies to a particular customer. Everything below is what the company's own pages say on 2026-10-03; it is the company's position, not a finding by this site.
Cancel a web subscription.
- The Help Center article "Metricool Refund Policy" gives these steps: log in, go to Plan & Billing, select Cancel subscription, and confirm the cancellation. Afterwards "you can continue using your plan until the end of your current billing cycle. Then, your account will automatically switch to the Free plan."
- A second Help Center article, "How to manage my plan in Metricool," describes a different menu route: open Plan and Billing, click the vertical three-dot menu next to your current plan, select Cancel plan and confirm; it adds "Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel the plan with the steps below before you delete the account, or charges can continue." The two articles word the menu labels differently, so follow whichever the Plan and Billing screen shows.
- When the paid period ends the account moves to Free (1 brand). The plan-management article says Metricool "keeps the oldest brand by creation date" on cancellation (and "your oldest brands by creation date" on a downgrade to a plan with fewer brand slots), shows on the confirmation screen which brands are kept, and says that after the change completes "that automatic selection cannot be changed"; it advises deleting unwanted brands from the Connections panel before finishing.
- Complete every prompt. Metricool's failed-payments article lists an unfinished cancellation as one reason for continued charges: "Check your subscription at Plan & Billing and follow all prompts to the end to complete the cancellation."
- Plans bought inside the iOS or Android app (the "Starter Mobile 5" plan) are "managed by Apple or Google" and are cancelled in the Apple or Google subscription settings, not on the Metricool website; "Refund requests must be directed to and approved by Apple and Google." Metricool's App Store terms add that if the app "fails to conform to any applicable warranty, the Customer may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of Metricool."
Refund rules the company states.
- Terms section 19: "The Customer has a withdrawal period of 15 calendar days from the date of the first contracting of any Metricool Plan. This right of withdrawal does not apply to automatic renewals." The Help Center adds that to use it you cancel in Plan & Billing and then contact support by live chat or at [email protected]; a refund goes back to the original payment method ("PayPal: immediate refund; Credit/debit card: between 5 and 10 business days"). The same article says that if you buy a paid plan again after a previous subscription and it is not an automatic renewal, "that purchase is treated as a new first purchase for withdrawal purposes," so the 15 days start again; and that the withdrawal right also applies to add-ons "during their first purchase, not for renewals."
- Renewals: the Help Center says of automatic renewals "These renewals are not refundable," and that cancelling an annual plan midway gives no prorated refund. Terms section 3.4.1 says "Refunds are not made for current billing cycles, whether monthly or yearly."
- Trial codes: Terms section 5 says that when a trial period ends, the plan price "will be automatically charged to the payment method provided, unless the Customer cancels it before the end of the trial period."
- Payment methods: the Help Center article "Available payment methods in Metricool" says a subscription can be paid "by card or PayPal" and that "Prepaid and virtual cards are not accepted."
- Renewal notice: Terms section 3.3.1 promises notice of a price increase at least 15 days before the renewal date, while the Help Center says that for ordinary renewals "no charge notice is sent."
If you were charged and disagree. Metricool asks customers to contact it first: live chat inside the app or [email protected]; its Help Center shows invoices under Plan & Billing. Its failed-payments article also says "Our system retries previous failed payments several times even after you cancel" and tells customers to use the chat in that case. If the matter is not resolved, general U.S. routes (not specific to Metricool, and how far they reach a Spanish-law contract aimed at professionals depends on the customer's circumstances) include a dispute through your card issuer or PayPal (their own deadlines apply), a report at reportfraud.ftc.gov (the FTC's reporting site), or a consumer complaint to your state attorney general. Privacy complaints can go to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), which Metricool's Privacy Policy names. The Terms (section 3) say Metricool "will not keep a copy of these conditions linked to the recruitment" and recommend that customers keep a copy of them.
Instagram or Facebook problems after connecting. Metricool's Terms (section 8.3) say it connects through the social networks' APIs and "cannot guarantee" that functions keep working when those companies change their policies. A Help Center article says that when Meta sends a notice such as "We restricted your business" shortly after a first connection, "the restriction comes from Meta's automated systems — not from Metricool. Metricool cannot lift it. Only Meta can review and restore the account," and it explains how to request a review in Meta Business Support. The article also says that if an account has been active for months, that explanation "may not apply" and customers should contact Metricool support. One Trustpilot review (displayed as updated September 22, 2026) alleges that Facebook flagged accounts for "unauthorized automation" after using Metricool, that Facebook Pages that work in the web version fail in the iOS app with a "Wrong Token" error, and that support kept repeating the same troubleshooting steps. Metricool's public reply on that review (displayed as updated September 21, 2026) says it can "take too long to escalate a case," adding "that's what happened here" and that the case is "now with our technical team." These are the reviewer's allegations and the company's reply; this site has not established the cause.
Add-ons (X and Advanced Analytics). For web plans, the Help Center's X/Twitter add-on article says the add-on is available on paid plans at "€10/$10 per month" per connected X/Twitter account ("€120/$120 per year" on an annual plan), that "Current pricing took effect on July 13, 2026," and that "X charges for every API connection." The same article says customers who already had X add-ons before July 2026 "keep the previous price of €5 / $5 per month (or €60 / $60 per year)" for each existing and additional add-on "as long as you do not remove all of them"; once all are removed the legacy price is lost, any future add-on is charged at the current rate, and the article says this also applies if a customer cancels the full subscription and subscribes again later. A different Help Center article says the app-purchased Starter Mobile 5 plan has "Add-ons X/Twitter: Included in the monthly price." A separate account-level Advanced Analytics add-on (Metricool Studio, Campaign Dashboards, extended detailed analytics) "starts from 10€/12$ per month on the Starter plan and 30€/36$ per month on the Advanced plan," according to its Help Center article. The plan-management article says that removing Advanced Analytics or reducing X add-ons takes effect "on the next billing cycle," with access and the current-cycle charge kept until then. The pricing page also lists a Hashtag Tracker with rows for tracking X/Twitter and Instagram at "$25/day."
Deleting an account. Two Terms clauses apply. Section 3.6 says "they can delete their Customer account through their Metricool Customer Menu," which "will permanently delete their Metricool account" with the analytical data of all Brands and the personal data from the account. Section 3.5 (account management) says a customer "can request the deletion of their account in Metricool," removing the information for all Brands and personal information, and adds that "Metricool reserves the right to keep their data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Policy during the period for which responsibilities could be derived for the services provided." Cancel any paid plan first: per the plan-management article, deleting the account does not cancel the subscription.
Company background
Who runs it. Metricool states in its Legal Notice that the owner is "METRICOOL SOFTWARE, SL, with registered office at C / Téllez, nº 12, Entreplanta H, 28007, Madrid- Spain," and gives its tax ID (NIF) as B87527115 and its registration as the Madrid Mercantile Registry, Volume 34.491, Folio 123, Section 8, Page M-620.321. These registration details are Metricool's own statement; this site did not open the registry record itself. No U.S. entity is named in the Legal Notice, Terms or Privacy Policy. Trustpilot's company-details box, which Trustpilot shows as contact info for the profile, lists a different address, "Calle Las Norias, 80, 28221 Majadahonda, Madrid," with [email protected]; this site has not established why the two differ, and Metricool's own pages opened for this check give the Téllez 12 address. The About page says the first version was a blogging analytics tool called Bloggerespacio (2014), that it became Metricool in 2015, and that the team has been "fully remote" since 2020. A team.blue press release dated September 17, 2024 says the company was "Founded in Madrid in 2015 by Juan Pablo Tejela and Laura Montells."
Ownership. The same press release (headline "Metricool joins the team.blue group") says the investment "brings team.blue as new strategic partner alongside the founders, who will continue leading the day-to-day operations of the company, and Axon Partners Group," and team.blue's CEO calls it "this acquisition." It states: "No further details about this transaction will be made available," so the stake and price are not public in that source. Metricool's Privacy Policy states that it "is a part of the team.blue Group and has a joint controllership with team.blue N.V." and that "Customer data such as contact, user, billing, and purchase information may be shared with team.blue N.V for marketing statistics, internal administration, and reporting purposes." The company's own pages give different user counts: the About page says "More than 3 million professionals," the home page says "over 3.5 million professionals," and the 2024 press release said "over two million users."
What it sells. A freemium service: planner and auto-publishing, analytics, reports, inbox, link-in-bio pages, competitor analysis, and an AI text assistant, connecting to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile and Bluesky (Terms section 2.1). Prices shown on its pricing page on 2026-10-03: Free (1 brand, up to 20 scheduled posts per month); Starter from $20 per month on annual billing ($25 monthly) for up to 5 brands, $36 ($45 monthly) for up to 10; Advanced from $53 per month on annual billing ($67 monthly) for up to 15 brands, $85 ($107) for 25 and $159 ($210) for 50; Custom by quote. The page says annual billing saves "up to 24%." "Unlimited" publishing on paid plans is subject to a Fair Use Policy that sets a base threshold of 600 posts per brand per month, above which Metricool "will manually check" compliance and may suspend posting for that month if a breach is found.
Flows and the Claude and ChatGPT connectors (September 2026). A Metricool press release dated September 1, 2026 announces Flows, which lets users set a keyword on an Instagram comment, DM or Story reply and automatically send up to three response messages (Instagram first, alongside TikTok, with X to follow, per the release). The release says Flows is available "to all Metricool users starting September 1, 2026, free of charge for a limited time," after which "the feature will become part of the Starter and Advanced plans as a paid add-on." A team.blue product-update note of the same date adds that Flows is "available to every Metricool user, including those on a free plan, free of charge for a limited time," a free-plan wording that Metricool's own release does not use. The Flows product page, by contrast, says "Flows comes with our paid plans: Starter, Advanced, and Custom" (the Spanish-language Flows page says the same for the paid plans), and the pricing page lists Flows rows in the paid-plan columns as "No extra cost for a limited time." No end date or price for the later add-on was shown on those pages on 2026-10-03. A second press release, dated September 10, 2026, says Metricool "is now available as an official connector for both Claude and ChatGPT" and that the connectors are "available to all Metricool users, including those on a free plan"; the pricing page lists "Metricool MCP" under the Free plan, while the Terms (updated April 1, 2026) say "MetriLAB AI" (the MCP connection) is "only available for the payment plans" and, in section 2.11.9, that for external models connected this way "their terms and policies apply." The Terms predate the release, and no later Terms version was seen on 2026-10-03.
Data and AI. The Privacy Policy says all data is stored "on servers within the European Union" and that Metricool "does not carry out international data transfers," and names a Data Protection Officer at [email protected]. Terms section 2.11 says its AI features generate text only and that Metricool "does not require training rights on Customer inputs/outputs" and obtains contractual commitments that its AI providers do not train on customer content. When customers use Metricool for their own audience data, the Terms and Help Center say Metricool acts as data processor and offer a signed Data Processing Agreement on request to [email protected]. Terms section 14.3 limits Metricool's total liability to the amount the customer actually paid for the plan giving rise to the claim. Section 2.11.6 of the Terms tells customers not to enter special-category or highly sensitive data into the AI features. Section 4 of the Privacy Policy says personal data is kept while there is a mutual interest and during the period in which responsibilities may arise, giving as examples 6 years for accounting books and invoices, 5 years for personal actions and 4 years for tax obligations. In the processor clauses (section 12.4(k)) Metricool commits to notify the customer "without undue delay, and in any case before the maximum period of 72 hours" of personal-data security breaches of which it has knowledge; that clause is a commitment and does not indicate that any breach occurred.
Support. Customer support is by in-app chat and [email protected]; no telephone number was found on the Contact page, Terms, Legal Notice or Privacy Policy on 2026-10-03.
Complaint record: USAComplaints posts, Trustpilot, BBB and ComplaintsBoard, reported separately
USAComplaints.com: as of 2026-10-03 no complaint on this site was identified that names Metricool as the company, so this page has no complaint themes of its own.
Trustpilot (as displayed on 2026-10-03): a claimed profile showing 4.1 out of 5 from 670 reviews, 162 of them in the last 12 months. Its rating bars read 5-star 82 percent, 4-star 2 percent, 3-star 2 percent, 2-star 2 percent and 1-star 12 percent. Trustpilot notes that the company "hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative," and shows "Replied to 100% of negative reviews" with typical replies within a week. This site read only a sample of reviews, not all 670. The 1-star reviews read include allegations of a Facebook restriction after connecting Metricool, publishing failures, a log-in screen that froze, a refund that was awaited, slow page loading, a WordPress plugin, and the price of the X add-on; some positive reviews praise the free plan and support. Metricool replied publicly to several reviews, including one in September 2026 that acknowledges slow escalation of a case (see the first section). These are reviewers' accounts, not findings.
BBB: searches of the BBB directory on 2026-10-03 for "Metricool" and for "Metricool Software" near Madrid returned no business named Metricool; the five results for "Metricool" were Metricon Homes, Medicool, two Metricom Networks entries and Metrico Building Group LLC. BBB lists U.S. and Canadian businesses, so no BBB complaint or rating figure applies here.
ComplaintsBoard: no Metricool profile was located (the site's own search did not return results in the check on 2026-10-03, and a web search limited to complaintsboard.com, sitejabber.com and trustpilot.com returned only Trustpilot pages), so this check is incomplete.
Google Play (as displayed on 2026-10-03, a separate source not combined with Trustpilot): the listing for the Metricool for Social Media app shows 3.1 with 500K+ downloads and "1.97K reviews" in its header (1.94K reviews in another line of the same page), last updated September 16, 2026.
CFPB: the CFPB complaint database covers financial products. A full-text search of it for "Metricool" on 2026-10-03 returned 0 complaints; Metricool is a software company, so that result says little about its customer experience.
Is Metricool Legitimate?
Metricool's Legal Notice, Terms and Privacy Policy name the operator as Metricool Software, S.L., Madrid, and give a Spanish tax ID and a Mercantile Registry citation; those details are Metricool's own statement and this site did not open the registry record. A team.blue press release dated September 17, 2024 describes the company as founded in Madrid and its transaction with team.blue and Axon Partners Group. The Terms, last updated April 1, 2026, and the Privacy Policy, last updated June 26, 2026, are published on the company's site, as are a refund policy and cancellation steps in its Help Center.
Records checked on 2026-10-03: a search of CourtListener's RECAP archive for "Metricool" (courtlistener.com/?q=Metricool&type=r) returned 4 federal cases with 4 docket entries; the text excerpts CourtListener displayed show Metricool web addresses or article citations inside docket-entry text, and Metricool is not named in any of the four case captions. The same search of CourtListener's published opinions returned 0 results. Web searches for Metricool combined with data breach, lawsuit, FTC and AEPD found no enforcement action, class action or breach notice. Those checks are limited: the FTC legal-library search page did not apply the Metricool filter and the AEPD site search was blocked, so neither was completed; U.S. trademark records were not searched; and state attorney general and court databases were not searched individually. These searches are not exhaustive: a result of none in them does not show that no case, action or notice exists elsewhere, and PACER and the Madrid registry were not opened. This page assigns Metricool no rating or verdict.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who owns and operates Metricool, and where is it based?
Metricool's Legal Notice states that the owner is Metricool Software, S.L., with registered office at C/ Téllez 12, Entreplanta H, 28007 Madrid, Spain (NIF B87527115); the registration details are Metricool's own statement. A team.blue press release dated September 17, 2024 says the company was founded in Madrid in 2015 and that team.blue became a strategic partner alongside the founders and Axon Partners Group; the Privacy Policy says Metricool Software is part of the team.blue Group. The stake and price were not disclosed in that release.
How much does Metricool cost?
On its pricing page on 2026-10-03 Metricool listed a Free plan (1 brand, up to 20 scheduled posts per month), Starter from $20 per month on annual billing or $25 monthly, Advanced from $53 per month on annual billing or $67 monthly, and a Custom plan by quote. Prices rise with the number of brands (for example $36 per month annual for 10 brands on Starter and $159 per month annual for 50 brands on Advanced). For web plans, connecting X needs a separate add-on that the Help Center prices at $10 per month per connected account (customers with X add-ons from before July 2026 keep $5 per month for existing and additional add-ons as long as they keep at least one), while the app-purchased Starter Mobile 5 plan is listed as including X in its monthly price. An account-level Advanced Analytics add-on starts, per its Help Center article, from 10€/12$ per month on Starter and 30€/36$ per month on Advanced. Terms section 3.3.1 says VAT "must be added to these prices at the legal rate when applicable." Metricool's September 1, 2026 press release says its new Flows feature is free for a limited time and will later become a paid add-on in Starter and Advanced; no price for it was shown on 2026-10-03. The pricing page also lists a Hashtag Tracker at "$25/day" for tracking X/Twitter or Instagram.
How do I cancel a Metricool subscription?
For plans bought on the Metricool website, the Help Center says to log in, open Plan & Billing, select Cancel subscription and confirm; the plan then runs to the end of the paid cycle and the account moves to the Free plan. A second Help Center article describes the route as the three-dot menu next to the current plan, then Cancel plan. Plans bought in the iOS or Android app are cancelled through Apple or Google. Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription, per the plan-management article. Metricool's subscription article says to cancel before the renewal date, and its policy says a renewal that has already been charged is not refundable.
Can I get a refund from Metricool?
Terms section 19 gives "a withdrawal period of 15 calendar days from the date of the first contracting of any Metricool Plan" and says it "does not apply to automatic renewals." The Help Center says a request requires cancelling the plan and contacting support by chat or [email protected], with refunds to the original payment method (PayPal immediately; cards 5 to 10 business days). It also says renewals are not eligible, that a new purchase after an earlier subscription ended (not an automatic renewal) is treated as a new first purchase with a new 15-day window, and that plan changes do not trigger refunds. Terms section 3.4.1 says no refunds are made for current billing cycles. Refunds for app-store subscriptions are decided by Apple or Google.
Why might Metricool charge me after I cancelled?
Metricool's failed-payments article gives two reasons: the cancellation was not completed (it asks customers to "follow all prompts to the end") or an earlier failed invoice is still being collected, since "Our system retries previous failed payments several times even after you cancel." It tells customers in that situation to contact support via chat. Reviewers on Trustpilot describe other billing situations; those are their accounts and this site has not verified them.
How do I contact Metricool support?
Terms section 9 and the Contact page give two routes: the chat inside Metricool and [email protected], plus the Help Center at help.metricool.com. Privacy requests go to the Data Protection Officer at [email protected], and a signed Data Processing Agreement is requested from [email protected]. No telephone number was found on the Contact page, Terms, Legal Notice or Privacy Policy on 2026-10-03. The Google Play listing for the Metricool app and Metricool's Terms and Conditions in the Apple Store both give a different address, [email protected]; the Contact page and the main Terms give [email protected]. Trustpilot's company-details box also shows [email protected].
My Facebook or Instagram business account was restricted after I connected Metricool. What does Metricool say?
A Metricool Help Center article says such a notice comes from Meta's automated systems, that "Metricool cannot lift it," and that "Only Meta can review and restore the account"; it points customers to Account status overview in Meta Business Support to request a review and says new Business accounts are the usual case. It adds that if an account has been active for months, that explanation "may not apply" and customers should contact Metricool support. Terms section 8.3 says Metricool cannot guarantee features that depend on third-party APIs. Whether Metricool or Meta is responsible in a given case is not established by this site.
Does Metricool train AI on my content, where is data stored, and how do I delete it?
Terms section 2.11 says Metricool "does not require training rights on Customer inputs/outputs" and obtains contractual commitments that its AI providers do not train on customer content. The Privacy Policy says data is stored on servers within the European Union. Terms section 3.6 says customers can delete the account through the Customer Menu, which permanently deletes the account and the analytics data of all brands; section 3.5 adds that Metricool "reserves the right to keep their data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Policy during the period for which responsibilities could be derived for the services provided." The plan-management article warns that deleting an account does not cancel the subscription, so cancel first. The Terms add that permissions granted to Metricool must be withdrawn separately inside each social network. For YouTube data, the Privacy Policy promises deletion within 7 calendar days of a request to [email protected] and within 30 days of revoking access in Google settings. Privacy rights complaints can go to the AEPD, the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
What do Trustpilot and BBB show for Metricool?
As displayed on 2026-10-03, Trustpilot showed a claimed profile with 4.1 out of 5 from 670 reviews (162 in the last 12 months), with 82 percent of ratings at 5 stars and 12 percent at 1 star, and a notice that the company has not invited customers recently. Searches of the BBB directory for Metricool returned no business with that name. Google Play showed 3.1 for the Metricool app and a search of the CFPB complaint database for Metricool returned 0 complaints; these are separate sources and are not combined. See the complaint record section for details and limits of these checks.
