Masa Seminars
Masa Seminars (masaseminars.com) is the registration site for MASA's free lunch seminars about its ambulance-cost memberships, run by Medical Air Services Association, Inc. This page gives MASA's own cancellation, bill-submission and consent-revocation routes, then the record: a Michigan cease and desist order issued April 21, 2025, a 2012 Alaska stipulated order, a stayed 2026 federal TCPA class complaint, and BBB and Trustpilot figures as displayed on October 12, 2026. It gives no rating of its own, and complaints and lawsuits are allegations.

Attending a MASA seminar, cancelling a membership or stopping calls: what MASA's own pages say (checked October 12, 2026)
MASA Seminars (masaseminars.com) is the registration site for MASA's free lunch seminars. MASA, short for Medical Access & Service Advantage, sells memberships that, according to its own pages, pay ground and air ambulance bills left after primary insurance. The notes below are taken from MASA's pages opened on October 12, 2026; the member services agreement or policy you receive governs, and the terms differ by state.
What the seminar is. The FAQ page says seminars are "completely FREE of charge to you and your guest" with "no cost or obligation to attend", run "between 60 to 90 minutes" on average, and are for adults (guests should be at least 26 years old). It also says "the Presenter will be speaking about our coverage for emergency ground and air transportation" and "we will cover the details of our benefits and how a MASA plan could be beneficial to you." MASA's own Terms page calls these events "sales seminars": it lists, among communications you may receive, "appointment or RSVP reminders for sales seminars" and "follow-up communications if you attend a seminar". Seminars in some areas are invitation-only: the Events page asks for an invitation code from "your invitation".
What you agree to when you register. The registration form asks for name, phone, email, address and current health insurance, and carries this consent: "By submitting this form, I provide my signature consenting to contact from Medical Air Services Association, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, and Marketing Partners ... via live, automated, or prerecorded call, text, or email. Consent is not a condition of purchase. I can revoke this consent by calling (855) 595-2034". The Terms page (last updated May 7, 2026) says consent covers contact by MASA, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents "and up to 10 of its Marketing Partners" by live or automated (AI/prerecorded) calls or texts, with "Up to 30 messages/month"; it gives a different revocation number, (877) 854-6389, and says to reply STOP to cancel texts. If you want the calls or texts to end, revoke by phone, keep the dates and numbers that contacted you, and consider adding your number to the federal Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov).
Price and renewal, as displayed. MASA's compare-plans page shows the "Emergency Shield Plus" membership at $63 (single) or $80 (family) per month, or $5,200 (single) or $6,400 (family) as a lifetime plan, and says "Pricing excludes one time initiation fee" and that the monthly plan "automatically renew[s] each month, unless member cancels prior to the start of the next month." The payment FAQ says monthly plans are automatically deducted every month and that an annual plan renews automatically "if you checked the box for auto-renewal"; changes to that choice go in writing to MASA - Member Services, 1301 International Parkway, Suite 300, Sunrise, FL 33323, or [email protected]. The amount of the initiation fee was not stated on the pages opened.
Cancel or ask about cancellation. The Contact Us page's contact form carries the note "If you have questions regarding cancellation, please call (888) 644-6781 for assistance"; the page's contact block lists only member services at (800) 643-9023 and [email protected]. No refund period or cooling-off rule appears on the masaaccess.com, masaseminars.com or Terms pages opened on October 12, 2026. In one reply to a complaint on its BBB page (a customer in Arkansas), MASA wrote that it "provides additional time beyond the statute by giving our members 30 days to cancel and qualify for a full refund"; that is the company's statement in a complaint response, not the text of the membership agreement, so check the agreement for your state and your state insurance regulator's rules if you signed up and changed your mind. Cancellation inquiries can go to member services at (800) 643-9023 or [email protected]. The Terms page contains an "Agreement to Arbitrate" and a class action waiver (Section 4), with an exception for small claims court.
Submit a bill. MASA's claim FAQ says to send the ambulance bill with your member number clearly written on the front, through the member portal or to [email protected]; the claim-instructions page says bills must be submitted "within 180 days of the date of service" and to "allow 30 business days for processing." The FAQ also says MASA "will reach out to the provider" for the health insurance claim form and Explanation of Benefits.
Where to complain. Your state insurance department (the NAIC publishes a directory of them) and your state attorney general's consumer protection office are the state routes; the FTC takes reports about companies and unwanted calls at reportfraud.ftc.gov. The Better Business Bureau accepts complaints about the business through its profile.
Regulator orders involving the company (Michigan 2025, Alaska 2012)
Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS), Order to Cease and Desist, Enforcement Case No. 25-18215, issued and entered April 21, 2025. The respondent is "Medical Air Services Association, Inc." The order recites that DIFS received information about possible unauthorized activity on or about April 5, 2024, opened an investigation on April 30, 2024, and found that the respondent "acted as an insurer in the state of Michigan" without a certificate of authority, in violation of MCL 500.402 and 500.402a. Among the findings: the respondent "is a foreign corporation incorporated under the laws of Oklahoma, with a principal place of business in Florida"; its website carried "Get coverage" and "File a claim" buttons and described its product as "Benefits" and "coverage" under a "Member Service Agreement"; it "admits to selling the Emergency Shield Membership to Michigan residents" but wrote on May 16, 2024 that it "did not consider its products to be regulated insurance under Michigan law"; and it "has sold at least 59 Emergency Shield Membership plans to Michigan residents since 2023" at $678 for a year in 2024. DIFS stated that it did not find the respondent similarly situated to the Michigan State University Foundation program addressed in the 1988 Attorney General opinion the respondent cited.
The order directs the respondent to "immediately CEASE AND DESIST" and gives it 30 calendar days after service to request a hearing, which would also address "the continuation of the Order" and "restitution to be paid by the Respondent"; if no hearing is requested the order "will result in this Order becoming FINAL." It reserves further administrative proceedings and states fines and penalties under MCL 500.251(6). By its terms the order is "effective upon the date of service" and also offers a right to request a hearing within 30 days. The copy opened on October 12, 2026 does not show whether a hearing was requested, whether the order became final, or what followed, and the sources checked did not show a later DIFS order. MASA's current seminar-site footer lists Michigan (MI) among the states where "MASA membership products and services are not available", and its consumer disclaimers list MI among states whose residents are offered insurance coverage through MASA Insurance Services, Inc. and Obsidian Insurance Company; both statements are quoted as displayed and are not reconciled here.
Alaska Division of Insurance, Stipulated Agreement and Order, Case No. D 12-04, dated August 20, 2012. The respondent is "Medical Air Services Association". The agreement's background section records that the division "determined that the MASA membership program is insurance" and that MASA had been transacting insurance in Alaska without a certificate of authority under AS 21.09.010; it also records that the division alleged misrepresentation of services under AS 21.36.030(a) and that MASA disagreed, "asserting that its membership agreement and advertising material accurately reflect its services." The parties settled "without a hearing": MASA agreed that its websites would make clear memberships are not available in Alaska, not to seek new Alaska business, not to renew existing Alaska memberships (with notice to members and a pro rata refund on request), and "withdraws its request for a hearing". The director's order adopts the agreement in full, "shall constitute the final order in this matter", and dismisses Cease and Desist Order D 12-04. The document is a scanned PDF on the division's site; it was read on October 12, 2026.
Other regulators. The sources checked on October 12, 2026 (a web search, the Michigan DIFS site and the Alaska order above) did not turn up another state insurance department, attorney general or federal order naming the company. That is a scoped result, not a statement that none exists; other state registries were not individually searched.
Who runs MASA seminars and what MASA sells
Who is behind the seminars. The seminar registration form names Medical Air Services Association, Inc. MASA's disclaimers say "MASA, Medical Access & Service Advantage, and MASA Direct are fictitious names of MASA Holdings, Inc., a Delaware corporation, and are affiliated with Medical Air Services Association, Inc. (MASA), Medical Air Services Association of Florida, Inc. (MASAF), and MASA Insurance Services, Inc. (MISI)", with "jurisdictional registrations in progress". Terms: Medical Air Services Association, Inc. d/b/a MASA owns the masaaccess.com website. The Michigan order states the corporation is incorporated in Oklahoma with its principal place of business in Florida and that Medical Air Services Association of Florida, Inc. is an affiliate "with the same officers" that holds a Florida certificate of authority. The mailing address on MASA's contact page is 1301 International Parkway, Suite 300, Sunrise, FL 33323.
What it sells. According to MASA, "MASA is not a provider medical transportation and utilizes third-party transportation service providers. MASA does not own or lease any vehicles or aircrafts." The compare-plans page lists benefits such as emergency ground and air ambulance, hospital-to-hospital transport and repatriation, and "Valid for the rest of your life!" for the lifetime plan. The disclaimers state different legal forms by state: for Florida, MASAF "is a prepaid limited health service organization licensed under Chapter 636, Florida Statutes"; for some states, insurance coverage offered by MISI through Obsidian Insurance Company; for Tennessee, "a membership plan and not insurance coverage" with a note that TennCare Medicaid covers air ambulance transport. The seminar home page says people on Medicaid cannot be registered ("state laws may prevent a Medicaid recipient from enrolling"); the FAQ page words the same sentence with "Medicare recipient". MASA says it has been operating since 1974, has "two million members worldwide" and "over 400 team members" (company statements).
Scope. This page covers the seminar-marketing site and the MASA membership it promotes. It does not cover the air ambulance operators MASA arranges transport with, or MASA's group or employer products.
Complaint record: BBB, Trustpilot and this site
Complaints on this site. No approved complaints on usacomplaints.com about MASA or its seminars were found when the archive was searched on October 12, 2026, so this page shows no complaint count of its own and no complaint themes.
Outside sources, as displayed on October 12, 2026 and not combined. BBB profile for MASA Global, Sunrise, FL (headquarters): rating A+, BBB Accredited (accredited since 1989-02-01 per BBB's raw page data), "103 total complaints in the last 3 years" and "47 complaints filed in the last 12 months"; reviews tab 4.13 out of 5, "Average of 329 Customer Reviews". BBB lists masaseminars.com as an additional website of this profile and Medical Air Services Association of Florida, Inc. as a related business. Trustpilot page for MASA Global (www.masaglobal.com): 343 reviews with 4.4 displayed beside the count (the page's rating images carry other TrustScore labels, including 4.5, so the number is given as displayed, not as a verified score); profile claimed in October 2024; Trustpilot notes the company "hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative". These sources cover MASA's membership business generally; their reviews and complaints include many topics beyond the seminars, and Trustpilot and BBB do not verify them.
The company's public position. The seminar site says its events are free with no obligation, and quotes attendee testimonials (a presenter who "did a great job", "a great lunch"). Its Terms describe the arbitration route for disputes.
Lawsuits
Court dockets were checked on CourtListener on October 12, 2026. A complaint is an allegation, not a finding.
Wilson v. Medical Air Services Associates, Inc., No. 6:26-cv-00666 (D. Or.). A putative class action under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act filed April 3, 2026. The complaint alleges three promotional text messages in February 2026 to a number on the National Do Not Call Registry, including offers of "3 months FREE" on an annual membership and a message from "Ana Resende at MASA" linking to masaaccess.com. The docket shows a notice of settlement filed May 29, 2026; on July 15, 2026 the court said it would oversee fourteen TCPA cases brought by the same plaintiff and would not act on them until it ruled on a motion to deny class certification in a different case (Wilson v. Freeway Insurance); and on August 20, 2026 this case was stayed. The docket does not state the settlement terms. The defendant is captioned "Medical Air Services Associates, Inc."; the complaint does not say how that name relates to Medical Air Services Association, Inc.
Medical Air Services Association, Inc. v. CareFlite, No. 4:21-cv-00153 (N.D. Tex.). A suit filed by MASA in February 2021 against CareFlite (diversity; the docket lists a libel/slander category, and the claims are not described on the docket page). The docket shows a November 1, 2021 order partially dismissing claims with leave to amend, a joint stipulation of dismissal on December 16, 2021, and a final judgment on January 27, 2022 dismissing all claims with prejudice.
Two other federal dockets naming the company (S.D. Fla., 2024: an employment discrimination complaint, and a removed case classified as employment) are not consumer matters and are not summarized.
Is Masa Seminars Legitimate?
Facts from the sources checked on October 12, 2026. The seminar site names Medical Air Services Association, Inc. in its registration consent, and BBB lists masaseminars.com under its MASA Global profile (A+, accredited, with the counts shown in the complaint-record section). MASA describes the seminars as free with no obligation and the lunch as complimentary. The company states that it is not an insurer in some states and offers insurance through an affiliate in others, and that its "jurisdictional registrations" are "in progress".
Record against it. Michigan DIFS issued a cease and desist order, effective on service, in April 2025 stating that the company had acted as an insurer in Michigan without a certificate of authority and offering a hearing; the page does not say what happened afterwards. Alaska's division issued a cease and desist order in 2012 that was dismissed in an August 2012 stipulated final order under which MASA stopped offering Alaska memberships and did not admit the misrepresentation allegation. Separately, a federal TCPA class complaint filed in 2026 alleges promotional texts to a Do Not Call number; it is an allegation and the case is stayed.
What this page does not establish. It does not rate whether the membership is worth its price or whether a given claim will be paid; benefits are set by the agreement for your state. Read the member services agreement and disclaimers for your state before signing, and keep copies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MASA seminar really free?
MASA's FAQ page says seminars are "completely FREE of charge to you and your guest" with "no cost or obligation to attend", and that a presentation and complimentary lunch are included. The seminar includes a presentation about MASA membership; the Terms page mentions follow-up communications for people who attend. Opened October 12, 2026.
Who runs masaseminars.com?
The seminar registration form names Medical Air Services Association, Inc. MASA's disclaimers say MASA, Medical Access & Service Advantage and MASA Direct are fictitious names of MASA Holdings, Inc., a Delaware corporation, affiliated with Medical Air Services Association, Inc., Medical Air Services Association of Florida, Inc. and MASA Insurance Services, Inc. BBB lists masaseminars.com on its MASA Global profile in Sunrise, Florida.
Is MASA insurance?
MASA's disclaimers describe it differently by state: a prepaid limited health service organization licensed in Florida (MASAF), insurance coverage through MASA Insurance Services, Inc. and Obsidian Insurance Company for residents of listed states, and "a membership plan and not insurance coverage" for Tennessee and Wyoming. Michigan DIFS found in an April 21, 2025 order that the company had acted as an insurer in Michigan without a certificate of authority; the order allowed a hearing request.
How much does a MASA membership cost?
MASA's compare-plans page, opened October 12, 2026, showed Emergency Shield Plus at $63 (single) or $80 (family) per month, or $5,200 (single) or $6,400 (family) for a lifetime plan, excluding a one-time initiation fee whose amount was not stated. Prices can differ by plan, state and sales channel; the agreement you sign controls.
How do I cancel a MASA membership?
MASA's Contact Us form note says to call (888) 644-6781 for questions about cancellation (the page's contact block lists (800) 643-9023 and [email protected]), and its payment FAQ says changes to auto-renewal go in writing to MASA - Member Services, 1301 International Parkway, Suite 300, Sunrise, FL 33323, or [email protected]. The compare-plans page says the monthly plan renews each month unless the member cancels before the next month starts. No refund period appears on the pages opened; in one BBB complaint reply the company said members have 30 days to cancel and qualify for a full refund (a company statement, not the agreement text).
How do I stop MASA calls and texts?
The Terms page says the consent covers MASA, its affiliates and agents "and up to 10 of its Marketing Partners", with "Up to 30 messages/month". The seminar registration form says consent can be revoked by calling (855) 595-2034, and the Terms page gives (877) 854-6389 and says to reply STOP to texts. You can also register on the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov. A federal class complaint filed in 2026 (Wilson v. Medical Air Services Associates, Inc.) alleges promotional texts to a registered number; it is an allegation and the case is stayed.
How do I submit an ambulance bill to MASA?
MASA's claim FAQ says to send the bill with the member number written on the front, through the member portal or to [email protected], and not to pay the bill first. Its claim-instructions page says bills must be submitted within 180 days of the date of service and that processing takes 30 business days after all documents are in.
What regulator action has MASA faced?
The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services issued an Order to Cease and Desist (Case No. 25-18215) on April 21, 2025, finding that Medical Air Services Association, Inc. acted as an insurer in Michigan without a certificate of authority; the order is effective on service and gave the company 30 days to request a hearing. The sources checked did not show a later order or what the company did next. Earlier, the Alaska Division of Insurance and the company resolved Cease and Desist Order D 12-04 by a stipulated final order dated August 20, 2012, under which MASA withdrew its hearing request and agreed to stop offering memberships in Alaska.
Can I attend a MASA seminar if I have Medicaid?
The seminar home page says MASA offers emergency medical transport that is covered by Medicaid and that "state laws may prevent a Medicaid recipient from enrolling in our plans", so a registration may not proceed. The FAQ page words the same sentence with "Medicare recipient"; the two pages differ, so ask the event hotline at 855-786-2053 which applies to you.
