LeafFilter: how to get service, use the warranty or complain (checked October 14, 2026)

People who search for LeafFilter complaints are usually (a) owners with debris or overflow after installation who want service under the warranty, (b) people who received an in-home quote and are comparing price or financing terms, or (c) people who want to file a complaint. The routes below come from LeafFilter's own pages and public regulator or court pages opened on October 14, 2026; your signed contract and warranty paperwork control over any summary here.

Service and warranty. LeafFilter's contact page lists 'Service & Support 1-800-749-4566' (Monday to Friday 8am to 10pm EST, Saturday 8am to 8pm EST, Sunday 8am to 5pm EST), a general line 1-800-290-6106, the e-mail [email protected] ('with your phone number, zip code, and a description of your experience') and a 'Field Support Center' at 1595 Georgetown Road, Hudson, Ohio 44236. The company's warranty page states: 'If at any time the LeafFilter Gutter Protection system allows your gutters to clog with debris causing your system to fill with water and overflow, or if your residence sustains any interior water damage from such an occurrence, the manufacturer will repair the problem or refund 100% of the material purchase price for all LeafFilter material installed on your home', followed by 'See your representative for details'. The page also describes the warranty as lasting 'for the life of the home' and 'completely transferable' to the next homeowner, and offers a 'Register your warranty' link. The footer adds that 'See local representative for a full copy of warranty' and that 'Proper installation is necessary for the product to function as designed. LeafFilter will correct, under its warranties, any installation errors that could cause any clogs inside the gutters'. The same page also says: 'Once installed, your gutters are guaranteed to never clog again.' Some Trustpilot reviewers say they were told a service visit would cost $125; the warranty page opened does not mention a service-visit charge, so read your own warranty document. Warranty registration is at https://www.leaffilter.com/register/.

If it does not get resolved. Keep your contract, the warranty paperwork, photos with dates and a written record of each call (date, name, what was promised). Put the request in writing (the support e-mail above) and ask for a written response. You can then complain to the Ohio Attorney General or to the attorney general of the state where you live, to your state's contractor-licensing board (the LeafFilter footer lists license numbers for many states), and to the BBB (complaint form: https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/0272-132954203), which publishes the company's response to each complaint.

Quotes and financing. The company's purchase-process page says an on-site estimate gives 'a customized quote that is good for one full year'. Read the contract and any financing agreement before signing; the 'Complaint record' section of this page shows what some Trustpilot reviewers and BBB complainants say about pricing and financing, which are their accounts, not findings.

LeafFilter complaint record: BBB, Trustpilot and this site

BBB (as displayed on October 14, 2026). The BBB profile for LeafFilter Gutter Protection, Hudson, OH shows 'BBB Accredited Business' and an A+ rating. BBB's raw page data gives the accreditation date as July 15, 2005. The complaints tab shows 1,968 total complaints in the last 3 years and 546 filed in the last 12 months; BBB's note says the profile combines activity for all LeafFilter Gutter Protection locations in the US and Canada. The reviews tab shows 3.62 out of 5 'Average of 6,978 Customer Reviews'. BBB says it may display only part of the complaint text.

Trustpilot (as displayed on October 14, 2026). The profile is a claimed profile (since February 2015) and shows 3.6 with 127,132 reviews; the page shows 'Replied to 98% of negative reviews'. Trustpilot says it does not fact-check reviews. Reviews on the first page, dated October 2026 on the page, describe in the reviewers' words high-pressure sales, price negotiations, a $125 charge quoted for a service visit, and unanswered service requests; others describe a system that 'works well'. These are individual accounts.

This site. One archive post about LeafFilter is linked to this profile: a 2012 consumer report that complains about price paid per foot compared with what a neighbour allegedly paid. It is one person's account and is not verified by this site. The complaints tab of the BBB profile has a 'file a complaint' form (https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/0272-132954203). The BBB, Trustpilot and archive figures are different sources and are not added together.

LeafFilter court record

Zilinsky v. LeafFilter North, LLC (S.D. Ohio, 2:20-cv-06229). A consumer class action filed December 3, 2020. In its final approval order (doc. 107, March 29, 2023) the court records that the plaintiffs alleged that LeafFilter 'materially misrepresented that its gutter protection system would not clog or overflow', and that they asserted 'consumer protection and common law tort claims'. The order defines the class as LeafFilter customers in the United States with a 'Debris-Related Final Issue Code' for a service request, from January 1, 2016 through June 24, 2022, says the settlement 'creates a $5.2 million Settlement Fund', and lists four benefits: vouchers for future gutter cleanings; reimbursement for past gutter cleaning; a combination of vouchers and reimbursement; and partial reimbursement for removal of the gutter protection system. It records that nearly 50 class members objected and approximately 250 opted out. The order is by Judge Michael H. Watson, with a clerk's judgment (doc. 108). The settlement website (leaffiltersettlement.com) could not be opened on October 14, 2026, so claim deadlines are not restated here.

Christian v. LeafFilter North, LLC (N.D. Cal., 3:25-cv-02866; 9th Cir. 25-5312). Filed March 27, 2025. The docket shows an order on August 13, 2025 granting LeafFilter's motion to strike and dismissing the case for lack of federal jurisdiction; plaintiffs appealed on August 21, 2025, and on November 6, 2025 the court denied a motion by LeafFilter to alter the judgment. The motion the court granted is described on the docket as a motion to dismiss and/or strike class allegations. The docket entries opened do not state the claims. The Ninth Circuit docket on CourtListener ends at September 8, 2025 (opening brief due November 13, 2025), so the appeal's status after that date is not known from the sources opened.

Johnson v. Converge Marketing LLC (S.D. Cal., 3:26-cv-01382). LeafFilter removed the case on March 4, 2026; on June 24, 2026 the court granted LeafFilter North's motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction and gave the plaintiff leave to file an amended complaint after limited jurisdictional discovery. The CourtListener docket also lists later entries dated August 19, 20 and 21, 2026 ('Order', 'Dismiss', 'Order on Motion to Dismiss') without description text, so the current status could not be confirmed.

Fox v. Leaf Home LLC et al. (N.D. Ohio, 5:26-cv-02665). A class action complaint filed October 9, 2026 against Leaf Home LLC and LeafFilter North, LLC (doing business as 'Leaffilter by Leaf Home', 'Leaffilter Gutter Installation & Guards' and 'Leaf Home Gutter Systems'). The docket lists the nature of suit as 'Labor: Fair Standards' and the cause of action as 29 U.S.C. § 201 (Fair Labor Standards Act); it is an employment wage matter, not a consumer case, and the docket entries state nothing further. The complaint is an allegation.

Other dockets. A CourtListener search for 'LeafFilter North' on October 14, 2026 returned 84 cases, among them Wright v. Leaffilter North (N.D. Ohio 5:25-cv-02354; docket entries of January 28, 2026 'Order Dismissing Case' and March 13, 2026 'Stipulation & Order'), Wilson v. LeafFilter North (N.D. Ohio 5:25-cv-00522), Georgopolous v. LeafFilter North (N.D. Ohio 5:25-cv-00511), Horton v. LeafFilter North (N.D. Tex. 3:25-cv-02318), Reussow v. Leaffilter North (D. Colo. 1:25-cv-01910) and Platt v. LeafFilter North (M.D.N.C. 1:25-cv-00332), and cases in which LeafFilter North is the plaintiff, such as LeafFilter North, LLC v. Marshall (N.D. Ohio 5:26-cv-00044). I did not open the other dockets and make no statement about their claims.

Complaints in lawsuits are allegations. No federal or state enforcement action against LeafFilter was identified in the sources checked on October 14, 2026 (web searches limited to FTC and several state attorney-general sites returned no LeafFilter press release; a state-by-state search was not done; the BBB National Programs site search for 'LeafFilter' on that date returned 'There are no results for that search').
