• Contact the company first: the contact page lists [email protected], and the site footer lists the KYGUNCO Call Center at (502) 348-3594, Mon-Sat 9am-5pm (stores: Mon-Sat 9am-6pm); BBB lists the same number. The Return Policy says to 'contact us by phone or email' for returns.
• Firearms: the Return Policy says 'All firearm sales are final. Once a firearm transfer is accepted, the firearm is considered used and cannot be returned or refunded.' The Shipping Policy says 'All guns are new and unopened; we do not inspect every firearm before shipping' and tells buyers to inspect the gun at the FFL dealer: 'If there are issues, do not accept the transfer. We will have the firearm shipped back to us at our expense and offer you a replacement or full refund.' If an ATF Form 4473 is denied, the policy says the buyer is responsible for return shipping and a restocking fee.

• Cancellations and restocking fees: 'Orders cancelled while processing (placed, invoiced, and/or shipped) and any unopened items are subject to a 10% restocking fee'; 'Partner-Fulfilled Orders' are 'subject to a 10% restocking fee'; Class III orders with submitted approval paperwork, or denied paperwork, are 'subject to a 30% cancellation fee'; ammunition and triggers 'cannot be returned'; electronics and optics go to the manufacturer under warranty with 'no refunds or returns'.

The company says it began in 1946 as Keene's Depot, became KYGUNCO in 2001 and opened a Louisville store in 2022. The website's Terms and Conditions name the seller only as 'KYGUNCO' and give 401 Glenwood Drive, Bardstown, KY 40004 as the physical address; they do not name a legal entity.

The Kentucky Secretary of State shows the assumed name KYGUNCO currently registered (file date 12/26/2024, status active, expiring 12/26/2029) to KGC Louisville LLC (organization no. 1148734), a Kentucky LLC organized 5/4/2021, active, standing 'G - Good', last annual report 4/30/2026, with its principal office and registered agent at 401 Glenwood Dr, Bardstown, KY 40004. An earlier KYGUNCO assumed name of Kentucky Gun Company (organization no. 1158755, a Kentucky corporation organized 7/12/2021 that the registry lists as active, standing 'G - Good', last annual report 4/30/2026) is shown as inactive (filed 7/20/2021, expired 7/20/2026). Both entities, and Keene's Depot, LLC, list 401 Glenwood Dr, Bardstown as principal office, the street address the website gives for its Bardstown store. The website does not say which entity is the seller.
