What Trustpilot and BBB show

Trustpilot. As displayed on 2026-10-21, the Trustpilot profile for "Ideogram AI" (ideogram.ai) shows 3.8 from 167 reviews, with 99 reviews in the last 12 months, and a star split of 5-star 69 percent, 4-star 7 percent, 3-star 2 percent, 2-star 3 percent and 1-star 19 percent. The profile is claimed (since May 2025). Trustpilot shows that the company has not invited customers recently, so the reviews "may not be representative", that it has not replied to negative reviews, and that Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews. One review dated May 2, 2026 (marked "Unprompted review") says the reviewer's Plus subscription changed "quite literally overnight" so that reference-image generation needs priority credits, and also praises support responsiveness. That is the reviewer's account. Ideogram's current help center states that reference-image generations always cost credits.

BBB. On 2026-10-21 a BBB search for "Ideogram" (U.S. default) and a search for "Ideogram AI" near Toronto, ON (country filter Canada) each returned "No Results".

Ideogram complaints: cancelling, refunds, credits and who to contact

This page was checked on 2026-10-21. Ideogram has no complaints in this site's archive, so the practical steps on this page come from Ideogram's own Terms of Service and help center, and the documented record comes from Trustpilot and the sources named in the record sections.

  • Cancelling a paid plan. The help center says to click your avatar, open Wallet & Billing, click Manage plan & billing (the billing portal opens in a new tab), click Cancel subscription, pick a reason, click Continue to cancellation, and confirm on the page that shows the date access ends.
    More detailShow less

It says a completed cancellation shows a "Cancels" badge with the end date and that, if this badge is missing, "the cancellation did not complete". Cancelling stops the next renewal and does not end the paid period early. Terms Section 2.5 says the subscription renews automatically and that "to avoid future subscription charges, you must cancel your subscription five (5) days before the subscription period renewal date"; the help center repeats that a later cancellation means "the next charge may still be processed". A plan bought in the iOS app is cancelled in the App Store, not on the website.

  • Refunds. Terms Section 2.6 says subscription payments "are non-refundable and there are no credits for partially used periods". The help center says Ideogram "doesn't offer refunds on subscriptions, renewals or credits". For App Store purchases the help center says Apple handles refunds. Terms Section 2.6 adds that if Ideogram "suspends, deletes or terminates your Account or the Services for a breach or suspected breach of these Terms", access to paid Services ends immediately and "you will not be entitled to any refunds whatsoever"; Section 11.2 says Ideogram "may suspend, disable, or delete your Account and/or the Services, with or without notice, for any or no reason".
  • Pay as you go, auto recharge and deleting an account. The help center says a pay-as-you-go wallet has no monthly subscription to cancel; if automatic credit purchases were enabled, open Wallet & Billing, then Manage auto recharge, then Turn off auto recharge.
    More detailShow less

Its FAQ says to cancel a subscription before deleting the account because deleting only cancels it at the end of the current period, and that deleting an account permanently removes all images and data.

  • An unexpected or double charge. The help center says to email [email protected] from the address your Ideogram account uses and include any other email addresses or sign-in methods used, the date and amount of the charge, and the invoice number or receipt. Its Troubleshooting Billing Issues page lists four checks for a charge after cancelling: the subscription may be on a different account (each sign-in method is its own account and support "can't merge them"), may be billed by Apple (cancelling on the website does nothing for an iOS subscription), the cancellation may have been inside the 5-day window, or the cancellation may not have completed. It adds that Ideogram "doesn't offer refunds, including for a subscription you forgot on another account" and that failed renewal charges "are retried automatically over the following days".

Disputing a charge with your card issuer is a separate route; this page does not assess whether any particular charge was correct.

  • Credits. The help center says monthly plan credits "do not roll over" and reset on the renewal date, credits bought separately last 365 days from purchase, and generations that use a reference image, image edits and upscales always cost credits, even on plans that allow slower-queue generation after credits run out.
  • If the dispute is not resolved. Terms Section 10 requires first contacting Ideogram informally, then binding individual arbitration with a class-action and jury-trial waiver, unless you opt out by written notice to [email protected] within 30 days after first becoming subject to the arbitration agreement (the notice must include your name and address, your account email and an unequivocal statement that you want to opt out).

Complaints can also be filed with your card issuer or, for U.S. consumers, with the FTC or your state attorney general.

Who operates Ideogram

The consumer Terms of Service (last revised August 14, 2024) say the website https://ideogram.ai and the related mobile applications are "operated on behalf of Ideogram AI" and give the contact address 320 Bay St, Suite 700, Toronto, ON M5H 4A6, [email protected]. The Developer API Agreement (also last revised August 14, 2024) names "Ideogram AI, Inc." as the Company, uses the same Toronto address for legal notices (with a copy to [email protected]), and is governed by Delaware law with JAMS arbitration in Delaware. The Privacy Policy (last revised January 15, 2025) says "Ideogram AI" is the data controller, and the website footer on the Privacy Policy and API Agreement pages reads "© 2026 Ideogram, Inc." (read 2026-10-21). Registry searches may therefore need more than one name form.

What the product is. Ideogram's help center describes it as a "generative media platform" with image and video models, apps such as Background Remover and Ad Resizer, and an API. It describes Ideogram 4.5 as supporting image generation, reference images and targeted editing, and Ideogram 4.0 as an open-weight model whose weights can be downloaded, with production use needing a commercial licence (company statements, read 2026-10-21).

Plans as displayed. The pricing page and the help center's Plans and Credits page (showing "Last verified: October 15, 2026") list Free ($0, 30 credits a week for accounts created with Google, Apple or Microsoft sign-in), Plus ($20 a month, or $15 a month billed $180 a year, 2,400 credits a month), Pro ($60 a month, or $42 a month billed $504 a year, 7,500 credits) and Team ($30 per user a month, or $20 billed $240 a year, 3,600 credits per user), plus Enterprise and pay as you go. A legacy Basic plan is no longer sold. Prices are in U.S. dollars before tax.

Price and plan changes. Terms Section 2.3 says Ideogram reserves the right to change subscription plans or adjust pricing, and that price or plan changes "will take effect following reasonable notice to you". Section 9.2 caps liability at the greater of the amount paid in the prior twelve months or US $100.

Your images and data. The Terms say Ideogram does not claim ownership of your input or output and assigns to you any rights it acquires in the output, while granting itself a licence to use Your Content "to operate, improve, promote and provide the Services". The help center says images made on the free plan are public and that Plus, Pro, Team and Enterprise keep new images private until published. The Privacy Policy lists "training the models that power our Services" among uses of information it collects, and says it uses Google Analytics and Amplitude session-replay technology. The Developer API Agreement says Ideogram will not use API user input or output to train its model except content flagged as violating its usage policies. Privacy requests go to [email protected].

Frequently Asked Questions

Who operates Ideogram?

The Developer API Agreement names Ideogram AI, Inc. as the Company with legal notices to 320 Bay St, Suite 700, Toronto, ON M5H 4A6. The consumer Terms say the website and apps are operated on behalf of "Ideogram AI" at the same address. This page did not verify the state or province of incorporation in a registry.

How do I cancel an Ideogram subscription?

The help center says to open Wallet & Billing from your avatar, click Manage plan & billing, then Cancel subscription, give a reason and confirm. Terms Section 2.5 says to cancel "five (5) days before the subscription period renewal date"; the help center words this as cancelling "at least 5 days" before renewal. Plans bought in the iOS app are cancelled in the App Store.

Does Ideogram give refunds?

Terms Section 2.6 says subscription payments are non-refundable with no credits for partially used periods, and the help center says Ideogram does not offer refunds on subscriptions, renewals or credits. For a billing error such as a double charge it says to email [email protected] with the charge date, amount and invoice or receipt number.

Why was I charged after cancelling Ideogram?

The help center lists four checks. (1) The subscription may be on a different account: Google, Apple, Microsoft, SSO and email-and-password sign-ins each have their own account and subscription, and support "can't merge them". (2) It may be billed by Apple: if you subscribed in the iOS app, cancelling on the website does nothing and Apple keeps billing. (3) The cancellation may have been inside the 5-day window. (4) The cancellation may not have completed: a completed cancellation shows a Cancels badge with an end date in the billing portal, and if the plan still shows a next billing date the help center says to cancel again.

Do reference images and edits use credits on a paid Ideogram plan?

The help center says generations with a reference image, image edits and upscales always cost credits, even on Plus, Pro and Team plans that let users keep generating in a slower queue after credits run out. Unused monthly credits do not roll over; credits bought separately last 365 days.

Are images made on Ideogram public?

The help center says images generated on the free plan and the legacy Basic plan are public, while Plus, Pro, Team and Enterprise keep new images unpublished until the user publishes them. Images already made private stay private after cancelling a paid plan.

Does Ideogram require arbitration?

Terms Section 10 requires an informal attempt first, then binding individual arbitration with a class-action and jury-trial waiver. Users can opt out by written notice to [email protected] within 30 days after first becoming subject to the arbitration agreement, with name, address, account email and an unequivocal opt-out statement. The Terms do not name an arbitration administrator.

What do Trustpilot and BBB show for Ideogram?

As displayed on 2026-10-21, Trustpilot shows 3.8 from 167 reviews for Ideogram AI, with a notice that the company has not invited customers recently and has not replied to negative reviews.

How do I contact Ideogram support?

Ideogram's help center says to email [email protected] from the address the account uses, with the username, a description of the problem and, for billing, the date and amount of the charge. Privacy requests go to [email protected]. The help center lists no support phone number.
