hear.com complaints, trial, returns and refunds: what hear.com's own pages say (checked October 12, 2026)
hear.com, LLC sells hearing aids and hearing care online and by phone. Its FAQ says that after you sign up a hearing loss expert phones you, then schedules a hearing test with a licensed hearing care professional in your area or by its remote video (tele-audiology) service, and that hearing aids come with a 45-day trial. The legal entity on its Terms of Service is hear.com, LLC; its principal office is in Coral Gables, Florida.
Returns and refunds (hear.com FAQ). 'As long as you're within the 45-day no-risk trial, the process is very simple. Just call 888-780-3450 to let us know you'd like to return your devices.' The FAQ continues: 'Then we can determine the best way for you to send them back before the end of the 45-day trial', so the devices are to be sent back before the trial ends and the call alone is not the whole step. It says the return method is decided on that call, that 'we'll process your refund within 5 business days' after the devices are confirmed returned, that a credit-card refund 'will show on your card 2-3 business days after we process it', and that if you paid through the financing partner 'you'll receive a check from them within 4-5 weeks.' The same page describes the trial as a 30-day adjustment period followed by 'up to 15 additional days' to return the devices, 45 days in total. Keep the date of the fitting appointment, because the FAQ ties the trial to the period after the hearing aids are adjusted for you.
Contact. hear.com's Contact page lists customer support at (786) 526-0602 (hours shown: Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET, Sunday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET) and a chat. Legal notices, including the arbitration opt-out described below, go to [email protected].
Costs to check before you buy. The FAQ says some partner providers may charge for the hearing test up front, which hear.com 'will discount ... by the cost of the hearing test' if you buy through hear.com, and that there are no fitting fees. The prices page, as displayed on 2026-10-12, advertises 2026 models from $1,599 (Horizon 1IX) to $5,150 (Horizon 7IX); its footnote reads 'Prices reflect insurance discounts and may vary with promotions.' It also states 'Monthly financing shown for 36 months at 12.99% APR' for the monthly figures it displays. The page shows a '3-year repair warranty' and a 'Loss & Damage Warranty' among the included items; the FAQ says the loss-and-damage warranty is provided by the manufacturer, runs 1 to 3 years, and that the manufacturer 'will usually charge a deductible of a few hundred dollars'. Financing is offered 'subject to credit approval' through Synchrony Bank (Allegro Installment) and CareCredit; the FAQ shows APR examples from 5.99 to 24.99 percent and a CareCredit purchase APR of 32.99 percent for new accounts after 05/30/24. Read the financing terms you are shown at checkout.
If the problem is not resolved. The BBB profile accepts complaints and shows hear.com's responses. You can also report to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to the attorney general or consumer protection office of your state. Because the company's principal office is in Florida, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services publishes a 'File a Complaint' page whose first listed item is 'Complaints About a Regulated or Non-Regulated Business', with a help line at 1-800-435-7352 (checked 2026-10-12). For a device problem, the FDA hearing aids page links 'How to report problems to the FDA' (the MedWatch program). That FDA page describes over-the-counter hearing aids as needing 'No prescription' and 'No fitting by audiologist', while prescription hearing aids are marked 'Prescription needed'; ask the provider in writing which category your device is. If you paid with a credit card or through a financing company, its dispute process is a separate route. Terms of Service section 17 contains an arbitration agreement with a 30-day opt-out (see the litigation section).
Who hear.com is: hear.com, LLC, its parent and its provider network
Entity. The Terms of Service (last modified 6/2/2026) and the Imprint name hear.com, LLC, with a registered office at Corporate Trust Center, 1209 Orange Street, Wilmington, Delaware, and a principal office at 396 Alhambra Circle, Suite 1200, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. The group page says the company 'started in Berlin, Germany in 2012', is 'headquartered in Miami, FL' and 'employs more than 1,100 people in 8 countries' (the company's own description; Coral Gables is the address in its Imprint). It names Paul Crusius as co-CEO and founder and Marco Vietor as a co-founder.
Ownership. In a Rule 7.1 corporate disclosure statement filed in the Southern District of Florida on June 4, 2026 (Reichbart v. Hear.com LLC), counsel for hear.com LLC stated that its parent corporation is WS Audiology A/S, a Danish corporation headquartered in Lynge, Denmark, which holds hear.com, LLC 'indirectly through hear.com N.V. (Netherlands) and hear.com USA Parent LLC', and that no publicly held corporation owns 10 percent or more of the stock of hear.com, LLC or its parent entities. hear.com's own press release dated May 13, 2021 from Utrecht, Netherlands, in the name of hear.com N.V., said it had postponed plans for an initial public offering.
History per BBB. BBB's page says 'Hear.com began in 2008 under the prior name of Audibene, LLC which was owned by Sivantos Inc.' BBB's page data show an incorporation date of 2015-06-30, accreditation from 2016-01-21 and a file opened 2016-01-08; the company's own group page gives 2012 as its start. These descriptions come from different sources and are not reconciled here.
How it works. hear.com says it works with 'over 2,000 hearing care professionals in the U.S.' who are 'independent hearing care professionals and audiologists', and that it offers a 'Clinic-In-A-Box' tele-audiology service. The Terms say the hearing care providers, not hear.com, are responsible for clinical decisions for their patients ('you have the exclusive responsibility for all healthcare services'). The company's marketing claims on its pages, for example about the 'top 2%' of providers or satisfaction rates, are statements by hear.com and are not verified here. A press release dated July 13, 2026 says hear.com won a 2026 Globee Award and is a finalist in the 2026 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics, Large Business category.

hear.com court cases: 2026 privacy class action in arbitration briefing, a removed case dismissed, and other dockets
Terms of Service and arbitration. hear.com's Terms (last modified 6/2/2026) state that disputes are governed by Delaware law, and section 17.2 requires binding arbitration with JAMS on an individual basis, with 'a class action/jury trial waiver' in section 17.3. A new user may opt out 'within thirty (30) days of accepting these Terms by emailing us at [email protected] with your full, legal name'. Before arbitration the Terms require an informal attempt by email and a 60-day wait, and they preserve small claims court for qualifying claims. The Terms also say they 'do not apply to any purchase of products through the Sites'; those purchases are subject to terms made available in connection with the products. The purchase terms were not identified in the pages opened for this profile, so which terms govern a given purchase should be checked on your own paperwork. Obtain and keep the separate purchase agreement, because cancellation, returns, warranty and dispute terms for a purchase sit there rather than in the website Terms.
Reichbart v. Hear.com LLC (S.D. Fla., 1:26-cv-23441-RKA, filed May 15, 2026) is a putative class action. The complaint alleges that tracking tools on www.hear.com (it names Google Analytics and DoubleClick, the TikTok Pixel, Microsoft Clarity and Bing Universal Event Tracking, and the Twitter/X Pixel) sent visitors' online hearing-assessment questionnaire answers to third parties without consent. It pleads violations of the Florida Security of Communications Act and the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act, and unjust enrichment. These are allegations. On July 9, 2026 the court granted the parties' joint motion, citing the defendant's stated intention to move to compel arbitration, and limited the initial phase to arbitration issues; the docket entry reads 'Case Remains Closed'. The docket shows a motion to compel filed July 10, 2026, an opposition on July 24 and a reply on July 31, and an order on a motion for leave to file on August 11, 2026. A ruling on arbitrability was not shown on the CourtListener docket as last updated September 24, 2026.
Sanchez v. hear.com LLC (N.D. Cal., 3:26-cv-06043) was opened on June 18, 2026 by a notice of removal. The docket entries do not state the claims. After two stipulations in July and August, a notice of voluntary dismissal was filed on September 8, 2026 and the case was terminated on September 9, 2026.
Other dockets. Image Professionals GmbH v. Hear.Com LLC (S.D. Fla., 1:25-cv-23832, filed August 26, 2025) carries the cause code copyright infringement, is a dispute between businesses and not a consumer case, and was closed after a notice of voluntary dismissal on October 13, 2025. A separate 2025 Southern District of Florida docket (1:25-cv-22323) carries the cause 'Fair Labor Standards' and shows a notice of settlement in July 2025; it is an employment matter. Searching CourtListener for 'hear.com' on October 12, 2026 returned 62 results, most of them unrelated to the company; this profile lists the four dockets that name hear.com as a party.
No FTC, state attorney general or other regulator enforcement action naming hear.com was identified in the web searches run on October 12, 2026; the FTC site search was not available, so this is not a complete regulatory check.
