The complaints tab says '95 complaints in the last 3 years. 95 complaints in the last 12 months'. BBB's raw page data lists the file opened on 2026-01-28. The customer reviews tab shows 'Average of 62 Customer Reviews' at 1.03 out of 5 stars. BBB notes that displayed complaint text may not represent all complaints filed. (Wilmington, DE) shows 'Not Rated' and is not combined with these numbers.

Trustpilot. As displayed on 2026-10-22, Trustpilot shows halara.com at 3.3 from 156 reviews, 149 of them in the last 12 months, with 43 percent 5-star and 27 percent 1-star. Reported data incident, January 2024. BleepingComputer (Lawrence Abrams, January 11, 2024) reported that a forum user using the name 'Sanggiero' posted data said to cover Halara customers; BleepingComputer counted 941,910 records in the posted file; the forum post itself listed fields such as first and last name, phone numbers, country, home address, ZIP, province and city (the poster's description). BleepingComputer said it could not confirm that all the data was accurate, but confirmed with multiple people listed in the file that they were Halara customers and that their phone numbers, names and addresses were accurate. The poster claimed the data came from a bug in an API on Halara's website; BleepingComputer did not verify that. The article says Halara told it that it 'is investigating a potential breach' and does not say whether customers were notified.

This site's archive. This site's archive contained no approved complaints naming Halara when this page was prepared, so no complaint themes are shown. The BBB and Trustpilot figures on this page are external and are not part of any count on this site.

Halara order problem: returns, refunds, cancellation and where to complain

This page was checked on 2026-10-22 against Halara's own U.S. pages (Terms and Conditions last updated October 18, 2025, effective December 5, 2025; Privacy Policy last updated October 18, 2025; Help Center; Return Policy; Shipping Info). Your order confirmation and account screens control your own case; the notes on this page summarise what the company publishes.

  • Cancel. The Help Center says: 'Within 1 hour after placing your order: You can cancel it on the order page and place a new order'; for an order more than 1 hour old that has not yet shipped, 'Please contact livechat for assistance'; once the order has entered the packing or shipping process, 'We are unable to cancel your order, but you can submit a return request after receiving it'.
  • Return window. The Return Policy says: 'Our refund policy requires that you submit a refund request within 30 days of receiving your package. Once your request is approved, you have an additional 30 days to ship your item(s) back.' Items must be 'Unworn, Unwashed, Undamaged, In their original condition, All original tags attached'.
    More detailShow less

The page lists non-returnable items for hygiene and safety reasons (it names underwear and intimates, shapewear, swimwear, socks and earrings). The Help Center's return-policy entry differs: it says 'Swimwear, bodysuits, and lingerie can only be returned if the hygiene liner is still intact' and lists underwear, bras, water shoes, hair accessories, glasses, hats, socks, jewelry, shapewear and masks as not accepted, so the two Halara pages differ on swimwear and both are given here and any item marked non-returnable on its product page.

  • How to start a return. The page gives these steps: 'My Orders' → 'View all' → 'Return' → Return Item(s) → 'Select Return Reason' → 'Return Solution' → 'Return Method' → Submit Request. It says return labels and QR codes are 'only provided for eligible returns' and that in the United States they are 'available depending on order details and the shipping address'. It also tells customers not to send a return to the sender's address on the original package.
  • Refund timing and shipping costs. The Return Policy says that once a returned item has passed inspection 'your refund will be processed within 5 business days', and refunds are then 'issued to your original payment method within 5 business days after processing'; if you paid with a method that requires manual confirmation (for example Klarna), the page says the company will email you for confirmation before issuing a refund, and if your card is no longer valid it says to contact your card issuer or bank; 'The original shipping fees are non-refundable'; customers pay return shipping (the page says some regions, including the U.S., 'may be eligible for free return shipping on their first order', not for cancellations) 'unless the return is due to a quality-related issue or error'. It states 'We currently do not offer direct exchanges' (place a new order and return the original). If a refund has not arrived 'more than 14 days since your return', the page says to contact the company. The Help Center gives other timings: its return-policy entry says refunds go to the original payment method 'within 5–7 business days', and its 'Refund Timeline for Returned Items' entry says to 'allow 3 to 5 business days after the returned item arrives for refund processing'; when two Halara pages differ, both are given here.
  • Quality-defect exclusions. The Return Policy lists items it says do not qualify as quality issues, including loose threads or raw edges, dissatisfaction with style or colour, sizing issues ('Returns due to sizing issues are not considered quality defects') and damage from wear or washing. It adds: 'We reserve the right to reject your return application.' A returned item that fails inspection 'will not be eligible for a refund or exchange' and may not be returned to the customer.
  • Shipping. The Shipping Info page describes items shipping from different warehouses, says shipping fees can differ for the same address, lists a Delivery Failure Policy, and says the support team 'typically responds within 1-3 business days'. A notice there says SuperExpress rates changed for orders placed on or after 2026-08-12.
  • Contact. The Help Center offers Live Chat and 'Email Us' and says its support team is available 24/7; the Terms give [email protected] for order errors and [email protected] for disputes.

A postal address for US DFS Inc. is given in the Privacy Policy (418 Broadway, STE N, Albany, NY 12207). Section 16.1 of the Terms says California residents may send a complaint to [email protected] with 'California Resident Request' as the subject line, or write to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

  • Arbitration and class waiver. Section 13 of the U.S. Terms says disputes first go to informal negotiation by email (13.1), then, after 60 days, to binding arbitration administered by JAMS (13.2), with a class action waiver (13.3) and an exception for small claims court (13.4).
    More detailShow less

Section 13.5 gives a '30 Day Right to Opt-Out' by emailing [email protected] within thirty (30) days of first use of the Services or of the effective date of the first set of Terms containing the arbitration and class waiver section. Read section 13 in full before relying on any court remedy.

  • If the company does not resolve it. Ask your card issuer about a chargeback for goods not received or not as described, within the issuer's time limits. You can also file with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, with your state attorney general's consumer office, and with BBB; BBB says it does not process complaints on companies based outside its service area for the Full Scale Full Speed Pte. Ltd. file, so use the Halara file for U.S. orders.

Court record

Espinal v. US DFS Inc., No. 1:24-cv-04899 (S.D.N.Y.). CourtListener's copy of the docket shows a case filed June 27, 2024 against US DFS Inc., with nature of suit code 446 (Civil Rights: Americans with Disabilities - Other) and Judge Dale E. Ho. The docket records that on March 18, 2025 the plaintiff filed a notice of voluntary dismissal under Rule 41(a)(1)(A)(i) 'with prejudice and without fees and costs', so ordered by the judge, and the case was terminated that day. The complaint (Doc. 1, public on RECAP) alleges that US DFS Inc., which it calls 'Halara', failed to make its website, https://thehalara.com/, accessible to blind and visually-impaired users who use screen readers, and pleads claims under Title III of the ADA and New York State and City human rights laws. These are allegations. It is a lawsuit that ended by the plaintiff's dismissal, not a finding against the company.

Who operates Halara

Operator named in the Terms. The U.S. Terms and Privacy Policy say that registered users from the United States are 'contracting with US DFS Inc.' and that users outside the United States contract with 'FULL SCALE FULL SPEED PTE. LTD.' (the Privacy Policy lists its postal address as 71 Ubi Road 1 #08-34 Oxley Bizhub, Singapore). The separate European Terms (last updated May 9, 2026, effective June 10, 2026) name a third entity, 'FR DFS' (27-29 rue Raffet, 75016 Paris, France) for most EU countries and Full Scale Full Speed Pte. Ltd. for Africa, South America, Norway and Iceland. The U.S. Terms are governed by Delaware law and the U.S. Privacy Policy lists the postal address of US DFS Inc. as 418 Broadway, STE N, Albany, NY 12207.

What the sources do and do not say. The Terms do not state who owns these entities or where the company is headquartered; no founding year is stated on this page. BBB's file for Halara states that the Albany address is 'a known virtual office' and that 'BBB believes the business is located in China/Hong Kong', and BBB 'urges consumers to exercise great caution when choosing whether to do business with a company whose physical location is unknown' (BBB's statement, as displayed on 2026-10-22). The company's About page describes the brand as community-driven and its fabrics as designed by an in-house product team; those are company statements.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel a Halara order?

Halara's Help Center says an order can be cancelled from the order page within 1 hour of placing it (you can then place a new order). More than 1 hour after placing it, if the order has not yet shipped, the page says to contact Live Chat for assistance. Once the order has entered packing or shipping it cannot be cancelled, and the page says to submit a return request after receiving it.

How long do I have to return something to Halara?

The Return Policy says to submit a refund request within 30 days of receiving the package, and once the request is approved there are a further 30 days to ship the item back. Items must be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, in original condition with tags attached, and some hygiene items are non-returnable (the Return Policy and the Help Center list them differently, and the Help Center allows swimwear only with the hygiene liner intact).

How long does a Halara refund take?

The Return Policy says that once a returned item passes inspection the refund is processed within 5 business days, and that it is then issued to the original payment method within 5 business days after processing. It tells customers to contact the company if more than 14 days have passed since the return. The Help Center separately gives 5–7 business days and 3 to 5 business days for processing. If you paid with a method needing manual confirmation (for example Klarna), the company says it will email you before issuing the refund. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

Who pays for return shipping at Halara?

The Return Policy says customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a quality-related issue or error, and that return labels and QR codes are provided only for eligible returns. It also says sizing issues are not considered quality defects, and that some regions, including the U.S., 'may be eligible for free return shipping on their first order'. For a wrong item (style, colour or size not matching the order), the Help Center says to submit a return request, choose the reason 'Wrong Item Delivery' and upload proof.

Which company operates Halara for U.S. customers?

The U.S. Terms and Privacy Policy say U.S. registered users contract with US DFS Inc., postal address 418 Broadway, STE N, Albany, NY 12207. BBB's Halara file says that address is a known virtual office and that BBB believes the business is located in China/Hong Kong. The Terms do not state the company's ownership or headquarters.

What does BBB show for Halara?

BBB's Halara file (Albany, NY) read on 2026-10-22: letter grade F, no accreditation, 95 complaints logged over three years (all 95 within the latest twelve months), and a 1.03 out of 5 average across 62 customer reviews. One of the stated reasons for the grade is that the business did not respond to 76 of the complaints.

Was there a Halara data breach?

BleepingComputer reported on January 11, 2024 that a forum post offered 941,910 records said to be Halara customer data, and that Halara said it was investigating a potential breach. The article did not confirm the data was complete and did not say whether customers were notified.

Can I sue Halara or join a class action?

The U.S. Terms contain a binding JAMS arbitration clause, a class action waiver and a small-claims-court exception, and allow an opt-out by emailing [email protected] within thirty days of first use of the Services or of the effective date of the first set of Terms containing the arbitration and class waiver section. Read section 13 of the Terms for the exact conditions; this page is not legal advice.

Where can I complain about Halara?

Start with Halara's Help Center chat or email and [email protected], keep order records, then ask your card issuer about a chargeback if goods did not arrive or were not as described. You can also report to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, your state attorney general and BBB.
