BBB. BBB has three listings connected with Grow. The two under the Grow Therapy name give the phone number (786) 244-7711 and name Jake Cooper, as owner on the New York listing and as CEO on the Miami listing. The New York, NY listing (5 W 19th St) shows BBB accreditation since December 21, 2020, an A+ rating, 206 complaints in the last 3 years, 63 of them in the last 12 months, and 64 customer reviews averaging 1.14 out of 5 stars. BBB marks 178 of those complaints as answered and 28 as resolved, and sorts them as service or repair 74, product 43, billing 42, sales and advertising 21, customer service 18 and order 8. The Miami, FL listing (66 W Flagler St), opened by BBB in March 2023, is not accredited and has an F rating; BBB gives as its reasons 31 complaints filed in the last 3 years and failure to respond to 28 of them. The Philadelphia, PA listing for Grow Healthcare Group PA is not accredited and has an F rating; BBB gives as its reasons 9 complaints and failure to respond to all 9. BBB does not verify the complaints themselves.
Trustpilot. The Trustpilot page for growtherapy.com shows a TrustScore of 4.6 from 8,658 reviews, 1,873 of them in the last 12 months, and a claimed profile since February 2021. Trustpilot notes that the company 'hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative'.
What customers say in reviews and complaints. Complaints shown on BBB describe bills well above the estimate, charges that continued after a request to cancel, insurance claims denied or misfiled, support that is mostly chat and hard to reach by phone, records requests not met, and concerns about a provider's conduct. One-star Trustpilot reviews raise missed-appointment fees, refund delays, chatbot support, providers who stopped responding, and insurance or login problems. These are customers' own accounts.
These figures come from separate platforms with different methods and are not combined with each other or with this site's reports.

Submit a ComplaintCancel a session, dispute a fee or charge, and contact Grow
Cancel or reschedule. Grow's article on canceling an appointment says to sign in to the client portal, open the next appointment, choose Edit and then Cancel, and give a reason.
More detailShow less
To cancel one session or a whole repeating series, use the Upcoming list under Appointments. The cancel option needs at least 24 hours' notice. Inside 24 hours, message your provider through Messages in the portal, because Grow warns that cancellations sent by text, personal email or any other outside channel may not be logged; a late-cancellation fee may still apply. If your provider does not show up, you are not charged.
Emergencies. A medical or family emergency, severe weather or a car accident may qualify for a fee waiver. Contact your provider as soon as possible; inside the 24-hour window you can also ask Support through the portal. Grow may ask for documentation such as a medical note or weather alert, and you have 14 days from the missed appointment to submit it.
Stop sessions or delete your account. You do not need to delete your account to stop sessions or avoid future charges. Cancel any upcoming appointments, then message your provider in the portal to end care; if you cannot reach the provider, Support can help.
More detailShow less
With no appointments scheduled, there is no charge during a pause. To delete the account, open the Help widget, choose Send us a message and enter 'Account Deletion'. Deletion is permanent, requires no scheduled appointments and no outstanding payments, and Grow keeps health records for 10 years afterward.
Late-cancellation and no-show fees. Grow's FAQ on these fees defines a no-show as not joining within 15 minutes of the start time and a late cancellation as canceling less than 24 hours before. Providers set the fees, up to $200 each, shown under 'Worry-free booking' when you book, and insurance does not cover them.
More detailShow less
Grow's Practice Policies say you are charged for appointments not canceled 24 hours in advance and for arriving 15 or more minutes late, as specified on the provider's booking page and to the extent laws or payer requirements allow. Exceptions for extenuating circumstances are 'at the discretion of the Grow Professional'.
Dispute a fee or charge. Grow's article on disputing a charge says to start by messaging your provider through Messages in the client portal, with the fee description, date, amount, the reason you think it is wrong and supporting documents such as receipts or screenshots of a technical error. Start within 30 days of the charge notification, the payment, or the date you discovered an overpayment or a session that did not happen. Later disputes may not qualify for a refund, although Support can review a late request individually if there were extenuating circumstances. If the provider does not respond or declines, contact Support through the Help widget (Send us a message); Support may ask for documents such as card statements or follow up by phone. Providers have discretion over refunds of no-show and late-cancellation fees.
More detailShow less
If the provider declines, the article says Grow reviews the charge independently against its Practice Policies. For a session charge that differs from what you expected under your coverage, it directs you to your insurer.
Refunds under the Practice Policies. The policy says to contact the billing department through the Contact Us page within 30 days of the original payment (or of discovering the overpayment or non-rendered service) for overpayments, duplicate payments, billing errors, services not rendered or charges that should have gone to insurance, with your name, contact and payment details, a short explanation and any supporting documents. Later requests are not considered unless the billing department accepts extenuating circumstances. Approved refunds are processed in about 5-10 business days to the original payment method, and granting one is 'solely within the discretion of our billing department'. Refunds are not issued for services rendered in accordance with the agreed-upon treatment plan; disputes about services rendered go to Grow's patient dispute resolution process, reached through the Contact Us page.
When the card is charged. Grow's article on charging practices says that for insured visits the card is charged only after the insurer's determination, typically 3-4 weeks after the appointment, with an email titled 'Your Upcoming Payment' 36 hours before any charge.
More detailShow less
Self-pay sessions are charged soon after the provider submits the invoice: within 24-48 hours in that article, 2-3 days in Grow's insurance FAQ. In most cases a card on file is required, except for Kaiser and Medicaid clients; depending on your plan and location it may not be needed until you have a balance. Grow bills your insurer directly and warns that paying through your insurer's portal can cause duplicate charges. It offers no payment plans, but eligible charges can be rescheduled for up to 16 days in the portal. The insurance FAQ advises confirming coverage with your insurer before the first appointment and says its Cost Estimate tool is the easiest way to check eligibility. With a copay plan each session costs the same; with coinsurance you pay a percentage of the allowed amount, so the cost can vary.
A bill above the estimate or a denied claim. Compare the charge with the Explanation of Benefits from your insurer, which shows how the claim was processed. Depending on your deductible, the amount due can be higher than your usual copay.
More detailShow less
If the amount still looks wrong, Grow points to its Billing Support team through the Help widget, with the charge date and amount. When you ask your insurer about coverage, Grow's insurance FAQ says to give it these details: for clients in California, Grow Healthcare Group PC, 99 S Almaden Blvd, Suite 600, San Jose, CA 95113, NPI 1154994846; for all other states, Grow Healthcare Group PA, 66 W Flagler St, Suite 900, Miami, FL 33130, NPI 1245845932. If you and your insurer cannot settle a denied claim, ask the insurer how to appeal; your state insurance department also takes complaints, and the NAIC lists every department at content.naic.org/state-insurance-departments.
Contact. Grow's Contact Us page says the best way to reach Grow is through the client portal, and it asks clients to log in so it can verify their identity.
- Portal support: use the Help widget at the bottom right. Live chat runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM Eastern and callbacks from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern. Grow's two pages give different closing times for chat and support hours, 9:00 PM on Contact Us and 8:30 PM in its Support Team article. A message left outside those hours is answered within one business day.
- No portal access: use the contact form on the Contact Us page or the support form at growtherapy.jotform.com/grow-support/contact-us.
- Help booking: (646) 687-9932 for new clients (Contact Us page) and 786-755-1863 (accessibility page). Deaf or Hard of Hearing callers can use 724-623-2973.
- Booking, rescheduling or canceling: Grow's billing FAQ for Evernorth clients prints (646) 776-2022 for these requests. To keep a record, also cancel or message in the portal.
- Billing: existing clients use portal chat or a callback. The Contact Us page and current Practice Policies list no customer service email. If your portal's Billing Information shows that Evernorth Behavioral Care Group bills your sessions, billing questions go to it at (415) 941-4109 or [email protected].
Escalating. For a privacy complaint, Grow's Notice of Privacy Practices names its Contact Us page and a Privacy Officer at 786-755-1863. You can also complain to the HHS Office for Civil Rights at 1-800-368-1019 (TTY 1-800-537-7697) or through its portal, ocrportal.hhs.gov. The Practice Policies say concerns about a provider's treatment can be submitted in writing through the Contact Us page, and they link to a chart of state agencies that take complaints about licensed providers. If the provider and Support both decline a billing dispute, you can ask your card issuer about disputing the charge. Under the federal Fair Credit Billing Act, your letter about a billing error must reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill showing the error was sent.

That process covers credit cards and other revolving credit; if you paid by debit card, contact your bank promptly. You can also file a complaint with your state attorney general's consumer protection office or with BBB.
Court cases involving Grow Care, Inc.
Slade v. Grow Care, Inc. (S.D.N.Y. No. 1:23-cv-04845), filed June 8, 2023: a complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act alleging that the Grow website was not accessible to a visually impaired user. The plaintiff filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice and without costs, and the case was closed on July 27, 2023, without a ruling on the claims.

Doe 1 v. Grow Care, Inc. (S.D.N.Y. No. 1:26-cv-01929, originally N.D. Cal. No. 5:24-cv-09122), filed December 17, 2024: a proposed class action by two plaintiffs proceeding under pseudonyms. They allege that tracking tools from Datadog, Twilio and Wingify on Grow's appointment-booking forms captured what patients typed, including insurance details and the therapist and condition they selected, and shared it without consent. Their claims include the federal Wiretap Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act and common-law privacy. Grow moved to dismiss in April 2025, arguing that the complaint describes routine use of standard website marketing tools. After limited discovery on whether Grow could be sued in California, the parties agreed to move the case, and it was transferred to the Southern District of New York in March 2026. The claims are allegations, not findings.

What Grow Therapy is and who provides the care
Business. Grow Therapy is an online booking network for therapy and psychiatric care that is billed to the client's health insurance, with a self-pay option for people whose plan is not listed. Its home page advertises 'Mental health made easy, covered by insurance' and says sessions cost $21 on average with insurance; that is a company figure, and Grow's insurance FAQ says the actual cost depends on your plan, the provider's qualifications, your location and the session length.
Entities. The Practice Policies name Grow Healthcare Group P.A., Grow Healthcare Group PC, Grow Healthcare Group of New Jersey PC and Grow Healthcare Group of Kansas PA, plus affiliated professionals, as the 'Grow Professionals' who provide clinical services. They say Grow Care, Inc. does not provide clinical services and performs administrative, payment and other supportive work for those practices. The Terms of Service (updated January 1, 2026) describe Grow Care, Inc. as an administrative services entity that does not practice medicine, and they are governed by New York law. Fees, attendance rules and clinical decisions therefore involve the individual provider as well as Grow.

Grow reports a network of 26,000 providers, about 7 million visits in 2025 and more than 125 insurer partners.
Headquarters and corporate office. Grow announced a move of its New York headquarters from SoHo to about 19,000 square feet at 100 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, effective December 1, 2025.
