Great Wolf Resorts reviews and complaints: BBB and Trustpilot as displayed
All figures on this page were displayed on 2026-10-20 and are shown as published by each site. They are not combined, and neither site verifies that every post is from a customer.
- BBB. The listing "Great Wolf Resorts, Inc." (4600 Milan Rd, Sandusky, OH) shows BBB Rating A+, states "This business is NOT BBB Accredited", and shows "479 complaints in the last 3 years" and "115 complaints in the last 12 months". Its reviews tab shows 1.11 out of 5 stars, "Average of 111 Customer Reviews". A second BBB listing, "Great Wolf Lodge Headquarters" (350 N Orleans St, Chicago), is marked BBB Accredited, with raw page data giving an accreditation date of 2026-08-11 and a file-opened date of 2026-07-02, and displayed the same complaint and review figures. BBB's own notice says it does not verify information provided by third parties and that the nature of complaints and responses matters more than the number.
- Trustpilot. The page "Great Wolf Lodge" (greatwolf.com) shows 2.5 from 51 reviews and the label "Unclaimed profile"; Trustpilot states that it does not fact-check reviews.
The complaint texts were not summarized into themes here: the complaints tab of the Sandusky listing showed the counts but no individual complaints, while the complaints tab of the headquarters listing displayed individual complaint texts on 2026-10-20. One example from that tab: a complaint dated 10/08/2026, type "Service or Repair Issues", status "Resolved", in which the consumer says a refund after a cancellation was to be issued by check, that the check was later sent back for a wrong address, and that a card dispute was denied. These are individual accounts, not findings. No published complaint reports are currently linked to this profile. Four archive posts mention the lodge in passing (a post about a named individual, a street-sale post, a timeshare presentation post and a hotel-booking post about Orbitz); in each the subject is another party, so none is counted as a complaint about Great Wolf.

- Legal notices. The Terms give Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., ATTN: Legal Department, 350 N. Orleans Street, Suite 10000B, Chicago, Illinois 60654 for written notices.
Suite cancellations (quoted from the Suites Booking Policy). "We are a pre-deposit resort. Your card will be charged the first night's lodging plus tax and applicable fees." For U.S. lodges the policy says terms depend on the rate type chosen at checkout. Standard Rate: the reservation may be changed or cancelled free of charge within 24 hours of booking; after that "Your deposit is non-refundable", a $50 change fee and any rate difference may apply, and "Cancellations are not permitted and will result in full forfeiture of your deposit." Flexible Rate: changes up to midnight of the arrival date with no change fee (rate differences may apply), and "Cancellations are allowed at any time before arrival, and your deposit is fully refundable upon cancellation." A no-show forfeits the deposit under both rate types. For Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls the policy says it "does not charge change fees" and lists cancellation fees of "$50 if canceled 8 or more days from arrival, $100 if canceled 3-7 days from arrival, or the cost of a one-night stay if rate is under $100, or First night's deposit if cancellation is received less than 3 days from arrival".
Other charges and deposits (Suites Booking Policy and Voyagers Club terms). The policy says: "In the event that there is a remaining balance post check out, you hereby authorize Great Wolf Lodge to apply funds you have on deposit against what you owe or charge your credit or debit card on file." For cabanas: "A $50 deposit is required for cabana reservations. This deposit is considered earned and is non-refundable if the guest cancels the cabana reservation within 48 hours of check-in"; the policy says the deposit is refunded if the hotel cancels for weather, unavailability or another hotel-related reason.

The Voyagers Club terms add: "Resort fees, surcharges, gratuities, and similar charges may still apply and be charged after application of Voyagers Points."
Day Passes. The Day Pass Booking Policy says: "Day Passes are non-refundable once purchased, and all sales are final." Date changes are allowed subject to availability and the current rate for the new date. The policy also says: "A guest must be at least 21 years old to purchase a Day Pass" and "Children age 2 and under are free".

Booked through a third party. The Voyagers Club terms say a Stay must be "made directly with Great Wolf" to earn points and that bookings through platforms such as Groupon or Expedia do not count. If you booked through an online travel agency, its own cancellation terms apply and the agency, not the lodge, may hold your payment; one BBB reviewer described exactly this confusion (BBB reviews tab, as displayed on 2026-10-20).
Outside routes. If the company does not resolve a billing problem, you can dispute a card charge with your card issuer and file a complaint with your state attorney general or the FTC. The BBB listing also accepts complaints (see the complaint record).

Who runs Great Wolf Lodge
The Great Wolf website footer reads "© 2026 Great Wolf Resorts, Inc." and the company's Terms give its Chicago address for legal notices. The same Terms state that the greatwolf.com website is operated by Great Lakes Services, LLC, and the Voyagers Club terms (last updated April 13, 2026) say that program is operated by Great Lakes Services, LLC. A liability-release clause in the Terms names Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., Great Lakes Services, LLC and GWR Manager, LLC together with their affiliates. Check the reservation confirmation for the lodge you booked to see which entity owns or operates it.
The lodge selector on the Terms page lists: West Anaheim, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; Grand Mound, WA; San Francisco / Manteca, CA; Scottsdale / Salt River, AZ; South Atlanta / LaGrange, GA; Charlotte / Concord, NC; Dallas / Grapevine, TX; Houston / Webster, TX; Naples, FL; Williamsburg, VA; Chicago / Gurnee, IL; Cincinnati / Mason, OH; Kansas City, KS; Minneapolis / Bloomington, MN; Sandusky, OH; Traverse City, MI; Wisconsin Dells, WI; Baltimore / Perryville, MD; Boston / Fitchburg, MA; Mashantucket, CT; Pocono Mountains, PA; and Niagara Falls, Ontario. The Terms contain an arbitration provision: the page states that it "requires individual final and binding arbitration of most disputes instead of resolution in court", names National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) as administrator, and allows either side to take a claim to small claims court. Before any arbitration or small claims proceeding, the Terms say the parties must try to resolve the claim for 60 days after the demand; they include a class-action waiver (in capitals: "AGREE TO WAIVE YOUR RIGHTS TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT"); they say that if "any claim asserted in an arbitration demand is deemed to be frivolous, the defending party shall be entitled to recover its attorneys' fees"; they say any claim about the Site "must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action or claim arises"; and they say disputes relating to the Agreement are governed by Wisconsin law with exclusive jurisdiction in Madison, Wisconsin courts.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel a Great Wolf Lodge reservation?
The Suites Booking Policy says the rules depend on the rate type: a Standard Rate reservation can be changed or cancelled free of charge within 24 hours of booking and afterwards forfeits the deposit on cancellation, while a Flexible Rate reservation can be cancelled before arrival with the deposit "fully refundable". Call 800.905.9653 or email [email protected] and have the confirmation ready (policy read 2026-10-20).
Are Great Wolf Day Passes refundable?
The Day Pass Booking Policy states "Day Passes are non-refundable once purchased, and all sales are final" and that cancelling forfeits the full amount; date changes are allowed subject to availability, and a lower-priced new date may produce a resort credit. The policy also says a guest must be at least 21 years old to purchase a Day Pass and that children age 2 and under are free (read 2026-10-20).
How much is charged when I book?
The Suites Booking Policy says "Your card will be charged the first night's lodging plus tax and applicable fees" and the remaining balance is settled at check-in. It lists an additional person fee of $20 per night for guests aged three and older at U.S. lodges when occupancy exceeds two persons. It also says that if a balance remains after check-out, the guest authorizes Great Wolf Lodge "to apply funds you have on deposit against what you owe or charge your credit or debit card on file", and that cabana reservations need a $50 deposit that is non-refundable if cancelled within 48 hours of check-in (read 2026-10-20).
What if I booked through Expedia, Groupon or another site?
The Voyagers Club terms say bookings on third-party platforms do not count as Stays for points. The cancellation rules for such a booking are those shown on the platform's confirmation, so contact the platform first; the lodge may not hold your payment. One BBB reviewer described confusion over a third-party site's non-refundable terms (BBB reviews, as displayed 2026-10-20).
Can I sue Great Wolf in court?
The Terms state that they require "individual final and binding arbitration of most disputes instead of resolution in court", administered by National Arbitration and Mediation, and that either party may take a claim to small claims court. Before starting an arbitration or small claims proceeding the Terms require good-faith efforts to resolve the claim for 60 days ("unable to resolve the claim within 60 days despite those good faith efforts"), and they include a class-action waiver ("AGREE TO WAIVE YOUR RIGHTS TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT"). They also set Wisconsin law and Madison, Wisconsin courts for disputes relating to the Agreement. Read the full text on greatwolf.com/terms before relying on this summary (read 2026-10-20).
