Good Ranchers: how to cancel, skip, get a refund or report a damaged box (checked October 12, 2026)

Cancel or skip before the order processes. The company's FAQ says you can "skip, pause, change or cancel your subscription anytime from your account" as long as it is before the next order processes, and that once an order processes it "is locked for fulfillment and cannot be changed." It says an email reminder is sent 2 days before the scheduled processing date. The Terms of service say a cancellation requested after the bill date is processed for the next scheduled bill date and that you remain responsible for charges on orders already processed. The cancellation channels named in the Terms are the account page, [email protected] and (346) 474-4663.

Free gift and "for life" offers. The FAQ states that cancelling forfeits any gift with purchase or upcoming discounts. Terms section 4 says promotional benefits described as "for life", "free meat for life" or similar are tied to an active qualifying subscription in good standing, are not a vested right, and are forfeited on cancellation, failed payment or chargeback. Read that section before relying on a free-product promise.

Damaged, thawed or missing boxes. Terms section 8 asks you to contact the company within seven days of receipt with a description and photos; for courier damage it says the company will file a claim and arrange a replacement, and that filing a claim "does not guarantee a refund." For other damage it says the resolution "may include a replacement Product, credit towards your next purchase, or a partial or full refund." Section 9 asks you to check that products arrive below 40 degrees F with a food thermometer and, if not, to contact the company with photos and discard the item. Failing to follow section 8 "will result in ineligibility for a refund."

Returns. The Returns section of the Terms and the Refund policy page say "we are unable to accept returns" because the products are perishable and direct unsatisfied customers to [email protected] or (346) 474-4663. The home page banner reads "Satisfaction Guaranteed." BBB's profile lists a company-supplied refund policy of "100% money back guarantee. 14 days Full Refund. 30 day exchange." These statements are not identical; ask the company in writing which one applies to your order and keep the reply.

Contact and escalation. Customer Experience is listed at (346) 474-4663 (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm CST, Sat 8am-4pm CST) and [email protected]. If the company does not resolve a billing problem, the FTC publishes a consumer article on disputing credit card billing errors, and complaints can be filed with the Texas Attorney General's consumer complaint form (the company's Terms select Texas law) and with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov. Terms section 11 also contains an arbitration clause with a 30-day written-notice step and a 30-day opt-out window; see the litigation section for its terms.

Who operates Good Ranchers and how its boxes and subscriptions work

The website footer reads "© 2026 Good Ranchers, Inc." BBB lists "Good Ranchers Inc." as a corporation at 1715 S. Friendswood Dr. Suite 120, Friendswood, TX, with the alternate name "Good Ranchers LLC"; BBB's page data show a business start of January 24, 2018 and an incorporation date of September 26, 2022. The About page says Ben and Corley Spell "went looking for better meat" in 2017 and describes the company as family-owned. Court dockets in 2022 and 2026 name "Good Ranchers, LLC" and "Good Ranchers, Inc." respectively.

What it sells. Per its FAQ, cuts are sold in boxes rather than individually, either as a one-time order or as a subscription delivered every 4, 6 or 8 weeks, with subscriptions "starting at $139 per box." The company says shipping is free, products ship frozen in insulated boxes with dry ice by two-day ground express, and delivery is to residential addresses in the continental United States (not Alaska, Hawaii, P.O. boxes or business addresses). It accepts major cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

Company sourcing statements (not verified by this site). The FAQ says all of its meat is "100% born, raised and harvested in the USA" and processed in USDA-inspected facilities, that steaks are USDA Choice or higher, and that it does "not publish specific farm, ranch or processor names" to protect supplier privacy.

Terms that affect price and billing. Terms section 6 reserves the right to change subscription prices "at any time and without notice" while adding that advance notice of changes to a current subscription will be sent to the account's contact information. Section 3 allows the company to substitute products without prior notice.

Good Ranchers complaint record: BBB and Trustpilot as displayed on October 12, 2026

BBB, as displayed on October 12, 2026. BBB profile "Good Ranchers Inc.", Friendswood, TX: "BBB Accredited Business," rating A+. The Complaints tab shows "5 total complaints in the last 3 years" and "2 complaints filed in the last 12 months." The complaint list displays four entries, and BBB notes it may not display every complaint filed. The two most recent are dated May 20, 2026 (type Order Issues, status Answered; the complainant says they had trouble cancelling a subscription while living overseas) and June 2, 2026 (type Product Issues, status Resolved; the complainant describes a box that arrived with items spilled and asks for a refund; the business responded on June 6, 2026); these are the two counted in the last 12 months. The list also shows entries dated September 22, 2025 (Product Issues, Answered) and August 1, 2025 (Service or Repair Issues, Answered). These are the complainants' own statements as BBB displays them. The Reviews tab shows 2.96 out of 5 from "an average of 23 customer reviews." BBB's page data show a file opened on November 5, 2018 and accreditation dated December 5, 2018. BBB also displays a company-supplied "Refund and Exchange Policy" of "100% money back guarantee. 14 days Full Refund. 30 day exchange."

Trustpilot, as displayed on October 12, 2026. The "Good Ranchers" profile for goodranchers.com is a claimed profile (since December 2023, labelled "Paid Trustpilot subscription") showing 4.7 out of 5 from 32,963 reviews, with 10,696 in the last 12 months; the rating bars show 87% five-star and 2% one-star. Trustpilot states that the company "invites their customers to review, whether positive or negative" and shows "Replied to 99% of negative reviews." Because the company invites reviews, the set may differ from reviews customers post unprompted. Trustpilot's own page notes it does not fact-check reviews.

ComplaintsBoard, as displayed on October 12, 2026. ComplaintsBoard's "Good Ranchers" page shows 14 reviews with a 2.1 average (9 one-star and 3 five-star reviews) and states that the company "has received 7 complaints," with 6 marked resolved and 1 unresolved. Several of the displayed complaints describe purchases at pop-up tent sales events rather than online subscription orders, so they should not be read as describing the current website service. ComplaintsBoard is a separate third-party site; its figures are not combined with BBB or Trustpilot.

Company's own figures. The home page banner says "4.7 ★ · 20,000+ Reviews" and the About page says "4.7 rating of 28,000+ reviews"; neither names the review platform or a date, and they are not the same numbers as BBB or Trustpilot above. The sources are different, so the figures are not combined here.

This site's own archive. A search of the approved posts on usacomplaints.com on October 12, 2026 for "Good Ranchers" and "goodranchers" returned no complaints about this company, so this page links no visitor complaints and shows no complaint themes.

Good Ranchers court dockets and regulator checks (as of October 12, 2026)

Dockets found. A CourtListener (RECAP archive) search for "Good Ranchers" on October 12, 2026 returned two federal cases, listed in the court-case table: Omaha Steaks International, Inc. v. Good Ranchers, LLC (D. Neb., 2022) and Cabriales v. Good Ranchers, Inc. (S.D. Tex., filed September 2026). RECAP contains only documents users have uploaded, so this is not a complete search of every court.

What the dockets do and do not say. The free docket pages list entries by title only. For the 2026 case the CourtListener docket (opened live on October 12, 2026; last updated October 9, 2026) shows a complaint and summons on September 18, 2026 and an executed return of service on October 9, 2026; the complaint itself is sold through PACER and was not opened, so its claims are not described here. For the 2022 case Justia's docket page for the Nebraska case lists "Nature of Suit: Trademark" and "Cause of Action: 15 U.S.C. § 1125 Trademark Infringement (Lanham Act)", so it is classified as a Lanham Act trademark case; the specific conduct alleged is not described here. The CourtListener entries for that case show a complaint on February 9, 2022, a patent-and-trademark report form, and, on May 16, 2022, entries titled "Settlement" and "Judgment - Consent", after which the case was terminated; the terms are not on the free docket.

Arbitration clause. Terms section 11 says disputes are resolved by binding arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act through JAMS before a single arbitrator, that both parties waive jury trial and class arbitration, that the customer must give written notice within 30 days of a dispute arising, that arbitration must be commenced within one year, and that the customer may opt out within 30 days of accepting the terms by notifying the company in writing. Texas law governs, with non-arbitrable disputes in Fort Bend County, Texas courts. Small-claims matters are carved out.

Regulators and recalls. The USDA FSIS recall list as returned by its public data feed on October 12, 2026 (2,030 entries, newest dated October 6, 2026) contained no entry naming Good Ranchers. No FTC or state attorney general enforcement action against the company was identified in the web searches run on October 12, 2026; this is a scoped negative, not a registry-by-registry search. Third-party blog or law-firm marketing pages that describe sourcing-related claims name no court or docket number and are not relied on here.

Is Good Ranchers Legitimate?

Good Ranchers is an operating business with an identifiable entity: the website footer names "Good Ranchers, Inc.," BBB lists a corporation in Friendswood, Texas as BBB Accredited with an A+ rating (as displayed October 12, 2026), and federal dockets in 2022 and 2026 carry the company name. Its published terms and policies, contact channels and cancellation steps are quoted in the practical section above.

Documented points customers raise are specific rather than general: the "for life" promotional benefits are conditioned on an active subscription (Terms section 4), returns are not accepted but damaged-product claims have a seven-day window (sections 8 and 10), and price changes are permitted with notice (section 6). BBB shows a 2.96 average from 23 reviews while Trustpilot shows 4.7 from 32,963 invited and uninvited reviews; the two sources measure different populations and are not combined. This site publishes no score or verdict of its own.
