Goggles4U: how to exchange, return, get a refund or escalate an order (checked October 12, 2026)

Contact channels as the company's pages show them. The Contact page and footer of the pages under goggles4u.com/g4u/ list (888) 972 9060 and [email protected], with a "Write Us" form. The Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and FAQ pages list +1-888-972-9060 and [email protected] and describe "24/7 Live Chat and phone support". The FAQ answer on changing or cancelling an order gives a different number, 1-888-830-7857, which BBB and Trustpilot also list. The footer of the "Goggles4u Global" pages under /gl/ shows (866) 964 8372 and [email protected]. The numbers and addresses are quoted as each page shows them.

Exchange, replacement or refund. The Refund Policy page says: "Every purchase is protected by our 15-day warranty, which can be claimed by providing your order receipt. This warranty applies to regular frames and stock lenses." It also says "All issues must be reported within 15 days of receiving your order." For refunds it says "If our eyewear does not meet your vision requirements, you may be eligible for a full refund, including the cost of the frame, lenses, and shipping," subject to listed conditions: a prescription copy from a licensed optician for prescription issues, reporting within 15 days, verification of reported size, color or manufacturing-defect issues, confirmation of a company error by customer support, and extra terms for promotional orders. The policy asks for "a scanned copy of your original prescription" to resolve prescription issues.

Costs and limits stated in the policy. "For exchanges, replacements, partial refunds, or full refunds, customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping." "Designer frames must be returned to our U.S. facility." Home-brand frames may be exchanged only for home-brand frames and designer frames only for designer frames; choosing a designer frame in place of a home-brand frame means paying the price difference; lens or frame upgrades requested during an exchange or replacement are charged. For orders placed under a Buy One, Get One promotion, "the retail value of the free pair will be deducted from the total refund amount, where applicable." The page text opened on October 12, 2026 does not state a refund method, a processing time or a restocking fee. In a reply posted on its BBB profile to a complaint dated July 2026, the company wrote that once a refund is acknowledged on its side "it typically takes 35 business days for it to be processed and may further take 2-3 business days for the funds to appear in the original payment method, depending on your financial institution's processing times" (the figure is shown without a dash on BBB's page); this is the company's statement in that reply, not a term of the Refund Policy page.

Waiting for delivery. The Shipping Policy says production "normally takes 2-3 working days" (3-4 extra days for strong prescriptions or special lenses) and that "Standard Shipping to the US, UK, and Canada is 14-21 Working Days"; USPS Priority Shipping within the United States has "a turnaround time of 10-12 business days". The FAQ says a tracking number is added to the customer's account and emailed once the order is dispatched, and that guests can check status at the guest order form linked there.

If the company does not resolve it. A complaint can be filed with BBB through the profile for Goggles4U.com (Cerritos, CA). The FTC takes reports at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and says it cannot resolve individual reports. The California Attorney General's consumer complaint form at oag.ca.gov/report is titled "Consumer Complaint Against A Business/Company"; the office says it cannot give legal advice or act as a personal lawyer. For a credit card charge, the FTC's page on disputing charges says to send the letter so that it reaches the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent, that the issuer must acknowledge it in writing within 30 days and must resolve the dispute within 90 days.

Who operates Goggles4U and how its service is described

Operator. The Terms and Conditions say: "This Website is provided by: American Eye Vision Inc., 12611 Hiddencreek Way Ste F, Cerritos, CA 90703" with the owner contact email [email protected]. The page opened on October 12, 2026 shows no "last updated" date. The About page says Goggles4U "acknowledged as American Eye Vision in 2010 and registered in the state of California, has been operating since 2002–2003". The footer says "16 Years in Business", "100,000+ Reviews" and "5 Million Customers"; these are the company's own claims. The BBB profile for Goggles4U.com lists "Alternate Names: American Eye Vision, Inc.", a start date of June 19, 2002, an incorporation date of June 28, 2010, "Type of Entity: Corporation" and "Years in Business: 24"; these are BBB's listed data, and the California Secretary of State record could not be retrieved for this page.

What it sells and how it works. The site sells prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses and designer frames to men, women and children. The FAQ says "It's an online store only. We do not have a physical location at this point." It says glasses are made at the company's production facilities "in Thailand and Pakistan", that only plastic lenses are offered (highest index 1.67), that only complete pairs are made (no frames-only or lenses-only orders), that insurance is not accepted (FSA/HSA cards may be tried at checkout), and that payment is by major credit cards, AmazonPay, ApplePay and PayPal. The About page describes "complete control over design, manufacturing, and distribution" and a "World-Class Lab Facility".

Shipping figures from the company's pages. The FAQ gives Standard Shipping as 5.95 USD per pair for the US and Priority Shipping as $9.95, with $2 for each additional pair; the Shipping Policy gives the delivery times quoted above and says orders go by drop shipment from the overseas production units to the US, UK and Canada and are forwarded by USPS, Royal Mail or Canada Post. The FAQ says customs and taxes do not apply for the US, UK and Canada and that duties elsewhere are the customer's responsibility.

Terms. The Terms include a US-users disclaimer that the website is provided "strictly on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis", a limit that the owner's liability will not exceed "the amount paid by User to the Owner hereunder in the preceding 12 months, or the period of duration of this agreement ... whichever is shorter", and a clause that the Terms are governed by "the law of the place where the Owner is based". Trustpilot lists a separate profile for goggles4u.co.uk; this page covers goggles4u.com only.

Complaint and review figures as displayed on October 12, 2026, and this site's posts

BBB. Two BBB listings exist at the same Cerritos address. The profile for Goggles4U.com (opened October 12, 2026) links to goggles4u.com, lists "American Eye Vision, Inc." as an alternate name, is shown as BBB Accredited (accredited since January 29, 2008 per BBB's page data) with rating A, and gives as the reason for the rating "57 complaint(s) filed against business". Its Complaints tab shows "57 total complaints in the last 3 years" and "6 complaints filed in the last 12 months"; the status filters list "Complaint Answered (44)" and "Complaint Resolved (13)", and the type filters list Product Issues (21), Delivery Issues (20), Service or Repair Issues (14) and Advertising Issues (1). The most recent complaints shown are dated July 2026. The Reviews tab shows "1.73 /5 stars" and "Average of 22 Customer Reviews". BBB's complaint list may not display every complaint filed. A separate BBB listing named "Googles4u" is not accredited, shows rating B- ("Failure to respond to 1 complaint(s) filed against business"), one complaint in the last 3 years and two reviews, with a file-opened date of March 10, 2025; its figures are kept apart from the Goggles4U.com profile and are not added to it.

Trustpilot. 4.2 from 104,394 reviews, with 5,534 reviews in the last 12 months (5-star 68%, 4-star 13%, 3-star 6%, 2-star 4%, 1-star 9%). The profile is claimed, the company invites customers to review, and Trustpilot shows "Replied to 100% of negative reviews". Trustpilot states it does not fact-check reviews.

Other third-party pages. ComplaintsBoard showed 3.1 from 24 reviews and 34 complaints (page updated Sep 09, 2026). ResellerRatings showed "69 220 reviews" with a 4.30 score (its page text also shows 4.48 from 69 224 reviews, in a summary generated from those reviews). SmartCustomer (the address sitejabber.com/reviews/goggles4u.com redirected there) showed 2.4 from 183 reviews. These sites use different methods, so the figures are not combined.

This site's archive. No approved posts about Goggles4U or American Eye Vision were identified in the usacomplaints.com archive on October 12, 2026, so there is no complaint theme count for this company. Three archive posts from 2009 to 2011 concern a differently named seller, Goggles and Glasses (gogglesandglasses.com); the sources checked do not tie it to Goggles4U, and those posts are not linked here.

Is Goggles4U Legitimate?

Goggles4U operates a working online store: its Terms name American Eye Vision Inc. at a Cerritos, California address, it publishes phone numbers, email addresses and written refund, exchange and shipping terms, BBB lists American Eye Vision, Inc. as an alternate name of the Goggles4U.com profile at the same address (accredited, rating A, business started June 19, 2002 according to BBB's data), and Trustpilot shows 104,394 reviews at 4.2 for a profile claimed since May 2014. The same BBB profile shows 57 complaints in the last three years (6 in the last 12 months) and an average of 1.73 from 22 BBB reviews, so the BBB rating and the review average are different measures that point in different directions. The company's own policy puts return shipping on the customer and sets a 15-day reporting window, and orders ship from overseas production units with a stated 14-21 working days for standard delivery.

Searches of CourtListener (RECAP dockets) and Justia Dockets on October 12, 2026 for "Goggles4U" and "American Eye Vision" returned no cases (CourtListener showed 0 results for each query), and a general web search did not surface a regulator action naming either name. The California Secretary of State business search could not be completed (the site blocked the request), so this page does not state the entity's registry status, and state attorney general and agency enforcement databases were not each searched.
